As the creature set her on a branch, she had to release contact with it. However, she had already held contact for long enough that her mind had been able to grab hold of what it needed to.
"Thank you. I wish I had more time for pleasantries and a real discussion but I don't and I believe once I say what I must, you will understand why." Nia knew the significance of the creature before her and wished she could have held a better conversation but that wasn't an option right now.
"I was not planning on letting myself remember this much for a very long time. However, it seems that you and really this whole island have changed the direction of my life more than I would have expected. It seems that my lack of knowledge of this place kept me from seeing it in any of my visions before I escaped." Nia seemed to shudder a bit but she quickly regained her composure and turned her attention back to Ash.
"I am in great danger. My real name is 238J and I am failed experiment. I managed to escape my testing facility just before they were going to terminate me. However, the only way that I could see myself getting away and not being captured again was if I somehow became ignorant of who I was. Knowledge of my origins, no matter what path I take, will lead to my recapture or death. After this conversation I will have to repress my memories again, leaving me ignorant again to all of this. You are the only creature I can trust with this secret because of the nature of who you are and your purpose. I am not asking you to become my babysitter or anything. In fact, I fear that may be just as dangerous as me knowing my origins. Instead, I ask that you feed me a false story. A false life. Tell me that I am a run away from an abusive home. I ran away to New York, but do not tell me from where I ran, and then found my way to this island. It's the closest I can get to the truth without endangering my future."
Nia finally seemed to pause to breathe. She looked to the creature hoping the gravity of what she had told it was sinking in. She knew it was a lot to ask but then again she was the one who had awakened it from its sleep. She supposed it wasn't outrageous to ask a favor.
