Isn't this the perfect shot?

It seemed almost as if Shinji had said the wrong thing to Lyra. It almost seemed as if she was sad or regretted helping him in a way. What did he do? Maybe it was the way he put it when he told her that he could have healed himself. It did make him seem just a little ungrateful for her exceptional gift. His eyebrows descended on his face as he thought about this and made the decision that he did seemed to be just a tad bit ungrateful but it was too late to take back what he said and it's not like it was going to kill either of them now. If anything it would have just made it a little harder to become friends with someone like her. But fortunately she seemed to not have TOO much of a problem with it.

"Yea I can heal myself but unfortunately, I can only heal myself and to a certain extent at that. But it has come in handy quite a bit before though. But as for what else I can do, its not hard to describe when put simply. I control electricity." Shinji finished explaining while raising his right hand into the air. Without a second thought, small amounts of electricity showed at his finger tips and palm. He'd rather not show her the full extent of his ability just yet since it can be a little gross to watch depending on the viewer. He only showed her for about a few seconds before letting his arm down and sighing.

"I see you can heal as well. Is that all you can do or do you have something else up your sleeve?" Shinji asked as he turned his head towards her. It was cool to see other people's powers and abilities and since there are a wide variety of people and creatures on this island, there is never a shortage of amazing spectacles to lay your eyes on.

She nodded. Healing usually always had some sort of limit. Lyra then watched as Shinji made small electric bolts zap around his finger tips and she smiled wide. That must be something to have fun with, though it was dangerous. She wondered if he could siphon energy out of something as well and control it.

"That's awesome! How hard is it to control?" She pondered. She couldn't control half of her powers even still.

When he asked, she nodded her head weakly and put her hand up to say "Well there is one more thing besides healing. I have psychometry.. but I'm still trying to figure out how to use it fully honestly. At the moment, it I touch something with my palms and relax I'll see a vision that's either a memory or something fairly soon in the future."

Lyra drew some circles in the dirt with her fingers as she spoke. She wondered if she would ever fully control it. Her ears slightly pointed downwards as the asked herself that question.

"I'm pretty sure I should be able to choose between the past and future even if I can't choose the memories I see."

She knew deep down that her inability to do so was solely from never practicing. She only used her psychometry accidentally many times in the past, and a hand full of times were her actually trying. Lyra was afraid of her visions and she didn't know how to combat them very well while they were happening.

"Well, I can pretty much control everything about it. Well at least the things that I know I can do. I do train and practice regularly with my abilities so that I can keep them in ship shape in case anything ever happens to where I severely need them. Call me overly cautions. I can also drain energy from other things for power even though I can make my own. But there is such thing as being 'over fueled'" Shinji replied. He was delighted to see that she was interested in his powers since his were pretty basic once it was fully explained. Though quite a bit of things can be done with such powers with the right imagination and motivation.

Shinji was curious as what else Lyra was able to do as well. More than likely she had more to her than just healing. She raised her hand and began to speak about her powers. "Psychometry...?" He said in his head as he looked to her in confusion. He had no idea what that was until she further explained it. "Well that's actually kind of cool. Though it would be troublesome at times." He said aloud as he pushed himself further up the rock. The soreness was still quite harsh but he could feel himself being able to move just a tad bit more now.

Drawing circles in the ground as if she was distressed was a sure sign that she was unsure of something. Given the current conversational topic, its obvious that she needed some more practice with her own abilities whether it was healing or the psychometry. Her ears noticeably moved downward as she did so which surprised Shinji a bit since he didn't realize she had pointed ears in the first place. In an attempt to cheer her up, Shinji offered her his help. "Well if you ever need someone to practice on I can help with that. I mean, I'm always getting hurt one way or another so you'd have plenty of practice with that if you needed. but as for the other power, you might have a stressful time with me. The downside to my control over electricity is the fact that my brain is over active and I would assume that the over activity of my brain would put a lot of unnecessary stress on you if you were to use that ability on me. Shinji said.

So he could drain things from other sources--Lyra didn't even have to ask. That was so interesting to her. His power was one of those raw powers that could be used for a lot of either bad or good things. She wondered how someone with that sort of thing didn't become a prankster simply because they can.

"That's really cool! And it's good you practice--I think I need to get around to doing more often as well." Lyra stated.

When he said that her power could be troublesome, he really was one hundred percent correct. There were so many times she wished she didn't have it--but without it she wouldn't be who she was--and Lyra was content for the most part with who she was.

She wished she could control every aspect of her psychometry the way he mastered most of his electric ability. He then sort of offered her help, but sadly it wouldn't do much good. He told her his brain was overly active--and Lyra could only imagine how her psychometry would run wild if she ever touched him with her palms. It might even hurt, who knows? She hasn't tried it out on many people yet enough to know all the answers.

She looked back at him, still running her fingers through the dirt.

"Aw, thanks. That's nice of you to offer, but my healing isn't what I really need practice on. Sadly it is the other thing. I'm not even sure what would happen if I even tried to use that on you. I wonder if it would hurt..." She thought outloud. The concept did interest her but she was definitely not going to try. Well... not today. Maybe one day if she ever got the guts, she'd ask him if she could give it a go anyway.

"How are you feeling by the way? Is it stiff still?" She worried. She hoped that he had feeling in it even if it was just soreness. He moved a little bit--so that was a good sign.

”The way I see it, I might as well be practicing way too much for my own good. It’s food to be Abe to heal but at the same time I’m using unnecessary time for things likely his instead of being more social. I don’t mind doing this but it’s not good for the long run.” Shinji sated as he watched her mess with the dirt beneath her. She was obviously distressed about something, either that or she was nervous. But what would she have to be nervous about? Shinji had no intention in making her feel bad so as soon as he could, he would prefer to change the subject if conversation.

The first thing that Shinji notice about her next few sentences was the fact that Sheri fired it could hurt if she tried to use that ability on him. Be wasn’t going to let her try even if she wanted to since there is even that possibility that it could hurt. For others, he would consider letting them try but she diet seem like the perfect person to be taking pain from anything. Not that she looked weak or anything but she just didn’t seem like the type to handle pain well. To make it worse, the pain provably wouldn’t be light with how active his brain could get.

”Sorry I can’t be of much help in that situation but I do think you should at least try to do more with that power. Could be useful. ” He finished with a light smile of reassurance. It wasn’t b if a smile but it was just enough to make sure she knew that it wasn’t hopeless.

She continued by asking him whether or not he was still stiff and/or sore. Of course he was both but at least he was able to actually feel his lower body again. That was no ordinary slip of course. He felt like he plummeted about three stories and landed in the splits. Treacherous.

”Fortunately, I can indeed feel my body but unfortunately it’s a Really stiff and sore. I believe I can get up now but it’ll have to be pretty slow and careful.” Shinji finished this while attempting to stand. He used the rock as support and what great support it was.

Lyra watched as Shinji lifted himself up, using the rocks as his crutch. She stood up with him, standing closely just in case he tried to walk. She fully intended on walking him all the way back to his dorm, regardless of whether he needed her or not.

When he smiled at her, after telling her she should do more with her power--she smiled back and tilted her head slightly to the side. She did want to try to do more. She didn't want to always fear, and have it always feel so bad to use.

"I'm amazed you can even stand now though, it hasn't been too long. Take your time, as slow as you need." Lyra told him, as she stayed by his side.

What a morning this had turned out to be. Even though it was filled with accidents--at least there was one good thing. She always enjoyed meeting people around here, and now she knew Shinji.

"So, you aren't going to give up on archery are you?" Lyra asked jokingly. "Even though this turned out pretty wrong."

Lyra shook her head as she smiled crookedly. A gust of wind hit her face, and her hair all blew back for a few moments. When it died out and her bangs fell back into her face, she brushed them softly behind her ears. "I'm totally sure you'll wreck it next time if you try again!"
