Over the hour of preparation, Eliana had dimmed the lights in her penthouse living room and turned on the gas fireplace for warmth. She'd set some white wine on the coffee table with popcorn (both butter and kettle), and had changed from her outing clothes to a baggy black sweater with the pink outline of a cat and holes in the sleeves to stick her thumbs through. She opted to keep from long pants and instead wore her booty shorts, as she usually did around home.

Her sixth-floor penthouse was modern and clean, with an open floor plan. Her living room and kitchen are separated by an island counter bar. Right beyond the bar was an oak wood dining table that seats six. Most of the appliances in her kitchen were stainless steel.

Beyond the kitchen was the living room, visible from the door. It had floor to ceiling windows to provide natural light and a gas fireplace. All of her floors were done in dark, hardwood. Hung above the fireplace was a flat screen t.v. She had two leather couches with cup holders, each diagonal to the t.v. There was a small glass coffee table situated in the center of the t.v. and two couches.

She had set out movies on the coffee table as well. Most of them were comedies or horror flicks. Among them was 28 days later, which was her pick one hundred percent.

From the living room, there was a relatively large terrace with a small, four-person glass table overlooking the ocean. A hallway to the side of the living room presumably led to the bedrooms and bathrooms.

Malvoes took time to get ready, showered extra long and made sure his hair was brushed out just the way he liked it. He wore his regular hoodie, over a green t-shirt, and a pair of jeans that fit quite nicely. This was comfortable for him, and it'd be nice to have a relaxing date.

Well, that's what he though before getting to the multi-floored building that was Eli's home, man she must be loaded or one of her lovers were. Either way Malvoes was almost positive he had never been in the presence of that much money. He nodded politely at the doorman as he let him in and took the elevator up to the sixth floor.

Knocking on the door that Eli specified in her text message with all the details, he was really hoping that she wasn't going to answer the door in a diamond studded dress. He was already feeling extra shabby due to the place, but, hopefully the goth girl he ran into was the same through and through.

It was lucky for him that Eli wasn't a fan of dressing up. She wouldn't have considered herself shabby, but answering your door in booty shorts and oversized sweater would have the neighbors talking. It's cool, though. They already talked about her constant visitors.

"Oh, don't you look nice," Eliana said when she got a good look at him, then she looked passed him and held up a hand in a flippant wave.

"'Sup mizz T."

Before Mal could turn around, the woman who had been peeking through the door had quickly closed it and locked it.

Eliana's neighbors weren't her fans. The demoness loved it. She was having trouble coming off serious.

"Don't be a stranger, come in. Come in." She moved out of the way for him.

He took a moment when she answered the door to appreciate her outfit, not just the fact that he wasn't under dressed but those shorts fit rather nicely to her. He would try to put an arm around her waist briefly, pulling her towards him and kissing her on the cheek before releasing her.

"You aren't looking too bad yourself."

Hearing a door click and lock behind him he decided it wasn't worth his time to turn around, "Friendly neighbors."

He was probably more struck back from the inside than the outside. His mouth practically open completely when he stepped into the penthouse. He couldn't help it, this was rather glorious, the kitchen was something he'd love to spend hours in, all of the appliances to play with.

Taking a step into the living room he thought the coach looked like a great place to lay, cozy with the fireplace and enormous flat screen. Glancing at the coffee table he'd chuckle, "Champagne and popcorn, classy. I love it."

The terrace was also an impressive view, but deciding he gave the penthouse more attention than his dear girlfriend. He'd turn to her while standing in the lvining room, and give her a small grin, "Nice place you have here darling."

Eliana was more than happy for the physical affection she received and, in turn, kissed his cheek, right at the corner of his mouth.

Eli was pretty used to newcomers gawking at her place, so she just strolled into the living room and opened the terrace doors to let in the breeze.

"Check out the movie collection. I have everything from Disney to Saw. I'm putting my vote in for 28 Days Later, but hey, it's your debt I'm repaying."

She fell back on the couch, taking one piece of popcorn and tossing it in her mouth when he commented on her food selection. She winked.

"If you're in the mood for something less alcoholic there's orange juice and apple juice in the fridge. Seriously, just make yourself at home."

She patted the seat beside her. "Movie debate time."

Eli loved having company over. She likely didn't look any more excitable than she normally was, but her home was one of the most flashy things about her. When people came over, they gawked and to Eliana, that meant she was the center of their attention.

He'd sit down next to her, giving her a warm smile, he got over the penthouse quickly, it was just a place honestly, no matter how nice it was.

"I say we marathon, start with 28 Days and watch whatever. The more time I have with you the better." He'd take some popcorn and eat it, grinning at her.

"As for the wine, I don't really care for alcohol myself, try to keep the stuff out of my system, keeping my mind in the right places, or wrong places depending on the situation."

Malvoes would turn to Eli, "So, marathon my dear?"

"Oh hell yeah! Marathon. I'd say we should watch 28 Weeks Later too, but that movie doesn't exist to me."

Eliana jumped up, taking the horror movie and popping it into the DVD player. "Fuck yeah!"

When she returned to the couch, she made herself comfortable laying across it, with her head resting on his lap.

"I love alcohol. Live on the stuff. I doesn't effect me. I just drink it for that delicious burn."

As the screen on the TV brightened, Eliana looked somberly up at Malvoes.

"I'm a total movie talker. I hope you've seen this before or prepare for your entire experience to be ruined."

She turned her head away from him and to the movie. She had her left arm over her stomach, hand resting on his knee nearest her face. He was going to be finding out tonight that Eliana was very much a cuddler to anyone who accepted her advances.

"Honestly I prefer having someone to talk to during a movie, whether or not I've seen it. So no worries dear."

He'd place his left hand on top Eli's over her stomach, and he'd start running the fingers of his right hand through her hair, it was a nice idle action, considering how soft it was.

He'd look up to the tv, glancing down at her frequently, he enjoyed this kind of quality time, being close to someone.

Eliana was very true to her word about talking. In the very first scene when the infected monkies were released, causing the infected (read: zombie) outbreak, by some activists.

Eliana said, "Goddammit, PETA, I knew you'd end us all."

To Jim, the main character's awakening in the hospital.

"Where have I see this before?"

And the beginning shots of London, it's streets empty and littered, Eliana was quiet for this. She was watching the screen intently.

She was pretty much obsessed with this movie. Zombie's who threw up blood and ran around screaming? That was so her thing.

When the action picked up, Eliana's commentary dwindled.

He'd chuckle and join her commentaries, giving his best impression, "Walkers! Rick!"

"This is probably the only way we'd actually get zombies in the public world, some government messing with something they shouldn't."

He'd lace the fingers of his left hands with hers, watching the movie almost as intently as Eli was. He'd seen the movie several times, didn't care for zombie flicks himself, but he did enjoy them from time to time.
