Is This Couch Big Enough For Two?

Perhaps going to the student lounge wasn't the best idea. Vestakia hovered in the doorway of the lounge, looking around the room a bit nervously. She could feel the energy radiating from the students withing the room, like a warm balm that she badly wanted more of. She stomped down on that feeling hard though, reigning in her instincts to gather the energy for her own as she looked for an open seat. She had thought that the lounge wouldn't be all that busy yet, what with students finding their classes and dorms, but it seemed that everyone had wanted to come to the lounge to mingle. She clinched her hand nervously, but strode into the room with purpose.

There was an open seat on a couch on the far side of the room, and Vestakia quickly moved through the groups of students so she wouldn't focus on the energy that she felt. Even though she moved quickly, she was careful not to touch any of them. Even accidentally brushing up against someone made them fair game to her, even though she tried not to take energy unless she really needed it. That was why she usually avoided large groups. But today.......she at least wanted a little bit of company. Someone who didn't mind a half demon.

She breathed a sigh of relief though when she made it to the couch and took a seat, rubbing sweaty palms on her jeans. Keep it together Vestakia, act normal. Acting normal.....she supposed that the meaning of normal was entirely different in this school. All the same, she sat back in the couch and twirled a finger in her long dark hair, watching the other students laugh and talk and wondered if any one of them would be in her classes.

August took a step into the lounge with a heavy, yet silent yawn. Lightly rubbing the right side of his face with his right hand, he began to stroll through the lounge, his left hand in his pocket. While his sleeping habits weren't perfect, he never had gotten such little sleep before. He didn't know why, either. Nonetheless, he was tired from such a long night doing nothing but counting as the hours passed.

His expression stayed straight as his other hand fell from his face to his other pocket, while he calmly strolled through the crowd. Glancing around, he spotted a nearby couch with a single person sitting atop, with enough space for another person.
Finally, he thought. A place to relax.

He slowly walked up to the couch, realizing that the person seemed a little...nervous? Maybe she was saving the space for someone else. Besides, it would be rude to just sit down without asking.

He stopped in front of the couch, and donned a bright face. Even though he was exhausted, he'd do his best to hide it.

"Excuse me, is this seat taken?"

Things seemed to be going well, as far as Vestakia could tell. She had been able to just sit and observe the other students that were gathered in the lounge. The variety of species was.....well, astounding. Her early school years had been spent at home with her mother, who had taught most of the lessons to her. Her father had tried to teach her what he could about magic, but his talents were....not very suitable for a young child. So here she was, surrounded by people her own age, and quite nervous about meeting any one of them

No one seemed particularly interested in her, and she supposed they saw demon kind often, but after a few minutes of watching the other students she saw one of them coming towards the couch. She quit twirling her hair and placed her hand in her lap as the young man came closer to her, both hands in his pocket. He seemed a little tired, and it was obvious that he wanted to take a seat on the couch next to her. She felt a strange fluttering in her stomach as he approached, until finally he stopped in front of her and gave her a friendly look.

"Oh....n-no it's not taken," she said, a faint blush on her cheeks. It would have been hard to tell if there wasn't a faint bloom of purple on her cherry skin, and Vestakia shifted a bit to make a little more room for him next to her. "Um....you can sit here, if you'd like."

"Why, thank you," he said with a warm smile as he sat. He looked around, the noises from the people around him almost bustling, a busy cafe without the smell of coffee or the clinking of silverware. Yawning, he relaxed himself a little, leaning back a bit with his right foot over his left leg.

He wasn't really used to this sort of atmosphere. Most of his life was a quiet one, alone with his family, so he never really got out much. However, he was pleased to see everyone conversing so enjoyably.

He then looked back the the girl at his side. She didn't really seem to match this new atmosphere. She seemed shy, and impish, especially at his request to sit.

At least she's nice.

He shifted his body a little bit to turn towards hers, interested in her presence. Saying one of the most open things he could, he began to speak.

"How are you?"

He didn't seem particularly bothered with sitting next to her, and in fact, didn't seem like he was bothered by much of anything at the moment. Perhaps he didn't really mind demons, which seemed to be the attitude of most of the students here, it was just her own insecurities that were making her nervous. She was curious about him though, and tried not to stare at him obviously, but was caught in the act as he shifted towards her and spoke.

The slight blush in her cheeks deepened, but the question was a general one and she relaxed a bit as she picked up on his own relaxed energy. "I suppose you could say that I'm a b-bit nervous," she said with a little laugh, looking down at her hands before looking back over at him. "I just started here as a freshman. Everyone here is.....so much more different than I had expected." She looked back out at all the gathered people lounge again before she remembered her manners and straightened her back, looking back at him contritely.

"Ah, I'm sorry. My name is Vestakia. Vestakia Ziador. Um...how are you?"
