"Forbidden Forest, uh?" Candy stared up at the trees with a raised eyebrow and pursed lips. "What's so dangerous about a forest?" She wondered in a whisper, moving towards a tree and placing a hand on its trunk. Well, so far nothing bad had happened, although she was sure she hadn't reached said forbidden forest yet. Had she missed a sign or something? Or, most probably, she was officially lost. Oh well.
The medical intern had started her morning jog, loving the sceneries that her new hometown had to offer. She so didn't have these commodities in New York, though she did miss the coffee. She'd heard all about this place the previous days, still back in New York, a although she had no idea what had gotten into. Children of all shapes and sizes and... extra limbs had been happily chatting around the school, much to her surprise. The land of the freaks, indeed. She recalled her father mentioning this to her at some point. Sure, she thought they were the ramblings of a mad man, too obsessed with his own work to talk coherently, but he proved her wrong. "Way to go, papa." She muttered, looking up at the sky, mostly covered by the huge trees. Still, all his rants hadn't prepared her for such a place. It was a tad... "Weird." She finished her thought, hugging herself and pursing her lips. Everything around her was weird. But... She looked down at her left arm, vending the gloved fingers under her yellow track suit. She had to do this.
Candy stretched her arms and then turned her shoulders as she walked forward. Nothing but trees ahead. She could faintly hear the running of water nearby, although she wasn't that used to nature to really tell where it was coming from. And then, some more noise. Was that a growl? Or a voice?
On the one hand, Candy had strong preservation skills and would've usually ran in the opposite direction of the noise, on the other though, this was a place for students! How dangerous could it be?
Very. It all happened in a flash. There was a person there, a woman? And a- Oh, fuck.
Candy let out a scream, pushing whatever was near her in an effort to protect herself with her left hand, as was her usual reflex. Down went the medium sized tree towards them. Not that Candy had any mind to yell at the woman to look out. Hopefully she would hit the beast that was obviously tormenting the poor girl.
...well, wasn't that a nice first impression?
@King (tell me if I need to change anything ^^)
