Deep breaths, you were supposed to take deep breaths when you where freaking out about things. Taking deep breaths when you where panicking was difficult though, and she was having a hard time with it. "What if I had just gotten home faster... I shouldve convinced them to go with me... I could've saved them."

Tears rolled down her cheek, she was going through everything in her head, how she couldve stopped it, how she couldve fought with the people that burned her home down. She couldnt breathe.

Emily once again scooted her chair closer. There were a few moments where she waited to see if this was just a thing she needed to get through, before her hands lifted up to Alessa's face and turned it towards her. "Alessa. Alessa. It's okey. You're here. It's now." Emily pressed her forehead to the witch's, closing her eyes as she did so.

"it's okey Alessa, calm, shhhhh, shhhhhh," slowly Emily's arms wrapped around the other girl's shoulder, drawing her into a hug.

Her breathing slowed down as she was hugged, and she stopped speaking for awhile.

She spoke up again, slower than before "Im sorry... I freaked out a little...". She was a bit calmer than a few seconds prior, but she was still very frantic and nervous.

Emily kept her arms wrapped around Alessa for the moment, letting her presence anchor the other girl. "It's okey... that's normal with traumatic events..." She spoke softly and calmly, coaxing Alessa back into reality slowly.

Emily pulled her head back and tilted it slightly while examining her expression. It was kind of odd being the touchy-feely comforting one, especially with someone she hardly knew. But that wasn't important, she was just doing what Alessa needed her to do. "Do have any happy memories of your family?... How do you feel about fire now?..."

She wiped the tears off her face with the sleeve of her shirt, she was calmer now. "The fire did nothing wrong... it was the people who used it to do harmful things, I have no problems with fire." it was true, fire was a beautiful thing, and the people that set her house a blaze used it for evil.

"I remember a lot about my family, like how my mother taught me all the magic that I know now, and how she gave me the catalyst I use now." she smiled from the memory, the thought of her mothers catalyst made her feel a lot better.

"Alright, that's good... It's always good to not have phobias... It's easy for them to develop with cases like this." Emily pulled back from Alessa, settling back into her seat now that the girl was calming down. "...Do you have that catalyst with you now? I'd like you to focus on that for a few moments. On the thought of it if not the actual object."

She waited patiently for Alessa to return to a calmer state, or whatever reaction meditating on the catalyst had. "...How do you feel now Alessa?..." She licked her lips a little, tasting the air and working out her thoughts. "Coming to terms with something like this always takes time... I can help you with this, but it's going to be largely up to you... I... Have a method that will help, if you'd like to try it..."

"I dont have it with me, but its pretty easy to envision it." focusing on things, envisioning objects that arnt there, those where things that Alessa was quite good at, as certain magics required it. She felt better remembering it and the memories surrounding it.

"I feel much better... thank you." she had mentioned another method, and Alessa was intrigued "Yes sure id be interested in that."

Emily nodded. "That's good, try and hold on to that..." She fidgeted a little, taking a deep breath. "... A-Alright... W-We should move to the couch then..." Emily stood up and, after a slight hesitation, took Alessa's hand to lead her over to the couch. She sat down next to the witch, and fidgeted a little more as she decided how she wanted to explain this. "... I-If you let me in... We can e-explore the space of your mind a little... That's one of my abilities... I won't truly be able to affect anything, other then maybe some superficial things... B-But it should give us insight..."

Emily licked her lips a little, she was aware the procedure could be fairly intimate, and was trying to explain it to Alessa without pressuring her about it. "A... Are you still okey with doing it?..."

She was dragged over to the couch pretty easily, as Emily explained some things about her procedure, she was a little unsure but decided to go along with it.

"Well as long as its nothing bad... im ok with it." she was a bit nervous about what this was but figured it wouldnt be anything awful.

"A-Alright then..... J-Just relax... I'll b-begin..." Emily gently touched her hand to Alessa's. The physical connection wasn't necessary for her to enter the mind palace, but it helped her focus on drawing out the mental connection.

Slowly she brought their minds together as their bodies went into the sleep-state the accompanied the method. Soon Emily found herself wandering through the familiar void of a mind that would soon put itself together for her. No two minds were exactly the same, some would just fade directly into memories and fantasies, others would have a building with doors that lead to isolated pockets, still others would be abstract representations.

Emily waited for the scene to become visible to her, more comfortable her then in her own room really. "Alessa? Are you there?"
