Raven wore her usual clothing, special made boots to hide her talons, an unbuttoned midnight blue/black trench coat to hide her wings and sunglasses to hide her pitch black eyes. Below her trench coat she could be seen wearing a black tank top to indicate that she liked less cloth than she was wearing. She wore her usual hairstyle which was braided into two parts, to rest on each of her boobs, each with a black feather at the end.

Eating a ham sandwich and reading the school newspaper she couldn't help but to feel incognito or as a spy, though she would be easy to spot. She liked one of the few short comics that could be found at the last pages of the newspaper, the one she liked where interesting and usually came with naughty puns, not that she would get aroused, instead she let out a loud "HA!". Oops, she looked around to see if anyone had cared and while she did that her dark cheeks got even darker as they tried to be red with embarrassment. There where a few who laughed quietly, whispered and trying to hide that they pointed at Raven, though most likely they would whisper about her clothes and not at the comic thing.

Adelene wasn't a frequent visitor to the cafeteria, but she detected some spicy ramen from here when she was supposedly on her way to the lake to chill out. The place was busy, so many students were here, eating their lunch and such. She held her tray with the bowl of ramen as she looked around for a seat.

Almost every table was occupied. She cursed under her breath and was just about to leave with her bowl when...

"HA!"

A loud voice caught her by surprise from nearby. She yelped, panicking for a moment because dammit she almost dropped her lunch. Fortunately she didn't, the ramen was safe.

She sighed and straightened her posture before turning to the source of the loud voice that shocked her.

"Uh." She was alone in her table. Great! "Excuse me, almost all the tables are full. May I sit with you?" She was asking gently and kindly, but there was a tone that was trying to assert dominance in her voice. "I almost dropped my bowl when you laughed. I can't let that happen again, I need a table."

She stood up, she wasn't backing down, then she pushed her sunglasses down for a few seconds. It was after all a little to dark to see through the sunglasses good enough, though while the action itself was fully visible she did it in a discreet manner as to not reveal her eyes.

Still not backing down though proper manners dictated that she should apology for startling the other woman and if she wanted to be normal then manners where a start "I am sorry for disrupting your meal.".

"My name is Raven, like the bird." While the words rolled out of her mouth he offered a handshake, it would be a mix between gentle and rough though not so hard that the other would feel pain. She was used by real firm handshakes and it would show if the other agreed to shake the hand.

"Please, take a seat." She said and showed the way to an open spot around the table, with a move of her other hand. This was her way of showing dominance, she wouldn't sit until the other sat, she was stubborn like that, a trait she had inherited from her father.

Adelene gave her a smile, one that seemed merely for formalities' sake and nothing more. Raven introduced herself to her and Adelene nodded, first thanking her for letting her sit there. And then she sat down before looking up at Raven again. Her clothes and built were weird, but Adelene assigned she was hiding something in her back.

"I'm Adelene."

She took her wooden chopsticks and separated them, before twirling them into the noodles and grabbing some. Adelene didn't eat yet though. She brought it back down and gave Raven her attention again.

She was curious why she was laughing.

"What are you reading? It seems fun."

Raven slid the newspaper across the table to Adelene before finishing her ham sandwich. pointing on the comic before letting go of the paper. As a bird thing she dropped feathers every now and then and one feather traveled to the floor to land next to a second feather, though this was yet unknown to Raven, well she knew that she sometimes dropped feathers naturally but not that she had done so recently.

After their show of dominance and formal greetings Raven hid a shallow grin, she had a normal problem. Everyone has a pert of them that they are ashamed of to varying degrees, which they want to hide from others. Ravens part was her past as a but in her quest of having a normal life her bird features worked for just that purpose.

She could be friendly but would she be it because she meant it or would it be because her roots called out to her, she decided not to treat Adelene like a pawn and actually trying to befriend her. With her complicated past she wasn't so sure whether or not her people skills where any good in a school and contemplated asking the other male to hang out while skipping school.

The newspaper was slid to the table in front of her and Adelene looked at it curiously. She eyed the comic and decided to read it to sate her curiosity, and, well, maybe it was a little funny after all. Adelene ended with a grin.

"It's funny," she said, looking up at Raven. She said it because she wanted her to know that she already understood why she laughed. And then, finally, she brought her chopsticks up to her lips, grabbing a mouthful of noodles and cutting them with her teeth when she's had enough. She brought the bowl up next and sipped some broth, and then let out a noise of content because god, it was delicious.

"Oh this is good," she said, though her words were still slightly muffled by the noodles she was chewing. She swallowed them eventually, freeing her mouth. She returned the newspaper then. "So, are you new here or something?"

She pushed up her sunglasses by pressing on the tip of the temple of the sunglasses located at her earlobe, she usual did it this way however this time she lingered by accident and revealed her pitch black eyes to anyone observant for two or three seconds. She attempted to lean back to enjoy the fullness of that ham sandwich and planned on pondering whether or not she should have seconds but as she leaned back she jumped up and started to walk towards the cafeteria, hidden behind her sunglasses where an expression of pain, she had hit a wing nerve and wanted nothing else but to flex her wings but stayed true to her set path for another ham sandwich.

Once she returned she remembered that she had left the other person hanging, why did this being normal thing had to be so hard, why. If she could just be her self she would have no trouble with her personal life, well until she where found out and she wasn't going to let that happen. "Yea, I just got admitted at the beginning of the week." the tone where firm to indicate that she was direct and usually said what she meant, if she remembered correctly the question had been whether or not she was new, or something of similar effect, this wasn't the tone she needed top use to blend in.

Weird. Just... Just plain weird.

Did... Raven just leave her hanging? Walked out on her, is that it? Without even telling first, even. Adelene was dumbfounded, her brows wrinkled in confusion and anger as Raven left, and she just stared at her and watched until she came back.

And then Raven answered her as if she didn't just leave Adelene for a couple of moments.

Adelene, still confused, tried her best to be a little bit more understanding. "What... What was that all about?" She can see that Raven got herself another sandwich but about the walking out thing... "Was something wrong?"

"Uhm" With this simple sound escaping her mouth she had already told the other that she didn't quite know how to explain herself, worse yet she didn't know how to do so while telling the truth and not revealing what she is or what she really look like.

"I got a little carried away, with this sandwich. Eheh, I am sorry." she did it, she did say the truth, well it wasn't the whole truth but it wasn't a lie either as she did not say any untrue words. Soon after she said that she unwrapped the sandwich and started eating, not wanting to do anything more stupid. She was both tormented and in bliss, on the one hand she had acted weird though on the other hand she had normal problems, wanting to hide weird features though her problems where justified and not centered around a pimple or a birth mark.

"U...huh..."

With narrowed eyes and crooked eyebrows, Adelene obviously didn't buy it. But she didn't dare push it either, as it only seemed like it would irritate her if she did. Shrugging, her face relaxed, and she turned to her bowl of noodles and continued eating.

She glanced at Raven every now and then. Her clothes and hunched form was more than quite intriguing, and maybe Raven was uncomfortable in them? Adelene hated uncomfortable clothes, which was why she always hated dresses and skirts. To her, while clothes were supposed to cover the body, warm it up if needed, they should be appropriate to movement, and shouldn't be bothersome with any form of activity. Which was why she was usually in t-shirts or tank tops and jeans or shorts, topped with leather jacket or a hoodie every now and then.

"Um, hey, I don't mean to pry but..." There was hesitance, but she asked anyway, "...you're not uncomfortable, are you? Aren't you a little... warm?"
