"It got better than perfect." That response was low, as her heart was already so vulnerable. Was it bad to say that Claire was-underneath her stubbornness- utterly terrified? Yes, Wess was someone special to her, but was he really special enough to be someone that she seriously wanted in her life? There was so many factors that Claire hadn't even though of. Would they be able to ever go out in public together? Would they were move out of the forest and get married and have children together? Would Wess ever kill her like he almost had when they first met? Those were only a few of the questions that ran through her head as she waited ever so patiently.

Well, maybe Claire was a bit self centered, yes. That was a definite. How could she not be though? It was her choice to want a Wendigo out of all the eligible, more normal men and women on the island. He was the one that her heart and mind chose; the wolf girl wanted to make this work. "Of course I am." The bluntness didn't push her off from the question. Though her acceptance seemed like a wave of relief. He would accept her, even if that mean that she could die, or that they could fight of have miscommunication. That was enough for now.

"I won't hurt you again." Those words were ones that she had never said, not even to Attel. This beastly man was getting the highest of standards into her heart. "And I'll try to, fucking, tell you how I feel or some shit?" That wasn't her strong suit, but her aching heart needed to at least try. "And you can, tell me what else you want too, I mean from me, considering this is all my idea..." Then again... What was this again? "Does this mean that we are... Dating? Or a thing or something?" If so, this would be the first time that Claire wasn't just blindly going into something she didn't want. Oh no, the girl wanted this more than anything. Letting go of him, she took a breath. "That's if that's what you think this is."

Wess wasn't sure about this. He wasn't sure about a lot of things from his past, but beyond that, life had been easy. Sure, he craved people meat, and he had to live on his own, but everything else was easy. He understood what he would get out of each day, or where he might go. Monotomous. None of this was expected, and Wesley never thought he would want any of it. To hurt the person he might love. To hurt his nonexistent friends. It was all a little much for the Wendigo to take in. He was in a daze, trying to comprehend what Claire was telling him.

"I don't think I've ever dated someone... But, okay, Claire. I like you. I don't know what this means, but I do know I enjoy your company." Wess needed to move around. It would help clear his mind, let him think this over. It had been a good long while since Wesley thought about the future. He'd been taking every day as it came since he'd been changed into the monster he was.

He pulled away from Claire and put distance between them as he paced five spaces in each direction. Wess looked to the night sky, trying to recall what it had been like to watch clouds or have the sun warm ones face.

"I don't want anything. Not really. I mean, I haven't ever thought 'bout this stuff, as far as I 'member. I only ask you don't stab me, y'know? And maybe, if you stop wanting to be around me you don't run off trying to get a manhunt after me, or nothing." He looked at her and grinned, all sharp teeth contrasting gentle eyes.

When she heard his words, her excitement level went through the roof. Claire was officially dating someone that see absolutely adored in a way. Before with her other relationships, it has always felt one sided. The wolf girl had never gotten attached to someone before, nor did she ever think of long term plans like she was right now. "Okay." Her voice barely hid the excitement as she stood there and paced for a few seconds along with Wess. "I mean we can make this work." For her, the thought of trying to make it work wasn't what she wanted at all. Claire would make this work, there was no buts or ifs for her.

"I-I won't okay? That was stupid of me I just..." Yes, she was becoming a bit too sappy with him. "I think I just, I'm stuck in my ways. I don't usually like people at all so, I guess I assumed I shouldn't try to be nice at all." With that she huffed rather loudly and met his eyes. "And I'll tell you, though, I doubt that would happen." As the girl pondered what to say next, there was a few chilly breezes that hit her. Still being pretty damp, her whole body shivered; though she wasn't cold at all. Taking her right hand, she slowly moved the hand to the side, which pulled off most of the water into a ball. Throwing it to the side, it felt much better that her entire body wasn't wet. "Do you think we should tell Attel?"

"I doubt it... eh, not what I was hoping to hear." Wess laughed awkwardly. The sound was scratchy, not often heard. "I was hoping for a firmer answer, to be honest. Like, 'no, Wess, I won't send people out to kill you.' Not so much, you doubt it will be a thing, but it still could. Semantics, I suppose, but we're talking about my life here."

When Claire asked if they outta tell Attel about their dating, Wess paused. Not because he wasn't sure, or was thinking about his answer, but because such a question confused him. Was that human thought? To be worried about what another creature would think of one's mate?

"I don't see why not? Why are you worried about Attel knowing? Won't he know sooner or later, anyway?"

Claire's face went as red as a beet. Had she really jsut made that big of an insult about Wess's life. He was right, that wasn't something that she should leave up to maybes or sometimes; this was serious and Claire needed to let him know that. "I will, never, send someone after you. I will never hurt you again. I will never betray you for someone else. I will never not want to be around you." There, that was all out on the table for him to take in. Chewing on her lip, having her feelings so obvious was making her rather nervous.

"I-I know he loves me." With that, there was an awkward silence in the air as she stood there. Was she supposed to say something like that to Wess? Had Attel's feelings been overlooked? The truth was, Claire wasn't supposed to know at all. It was more so that she had overheard him talking to himself, as if to practice on how he would break the news to her. "I'm not supposed to know but, I don't care either way. I don;'t feel like that for him at all, just o you know." Was Wess going to get angry with her? Want to call their dating off because of this loose end? Oh how she hoped that it wasn't the case. "I see him as a big brother to me, a protector. I don't ever want to be with him, not at all." The hurt wolf girl huffed out. "I just don't want to hurt him too much, or for things to be awkward. I want him to approve like a good big brother would."

Wess' face scrunched up in thought. It was odd for Claire to say all these things. Wesley had to say something back. Had to try and articulate what his feelings were. That wasn't easy for someone who tried their damndest to forget about emotions and other human things. Was that how Claire felt, too?

"And I promise I won't try to eat you." He'd have laughed, but it wasn't a joke, so Wess swallowed the nervous action and instead met Claire's eyes to let her know just how serious he was being.

Attel was a whole different situation. Wess assumed that yes, of course, Attel loved Claire. He wasn't sure what that had to do with anything until he realized the type of affection they were talking about. "Oh." He was quiet, then he shrugged. "Might as well tell him anyway. His feelings don't change mine, or yours, for that matter."

For a Wendigo to say that he wasn't going to eat her, well that was a big deal. For as much as they had bickered on to each other over their past meetings, they had come a long way indeed. "Thanks." Her shy smile said it all as she gracefully placed a strand of her hair behind her ear. This was almost too magical and romantic for two people like them. Even though this island was very diverse, there were some things that still made people look twice. A Wendigo and a teenage girl wasn't the weirdest thing, but it was definitely above the level of abnormal for Manta Carlos.

"You're right, it won't change anything for us." That's what really mattered. Attel could be as salty as he wanted to be, but the fact remained that they liked each other and they were happy to say that to whoever wanted to listen. Claire wasn't ashamed to be with Wess at all; so it didn't matter if Attel wasn't okay with it. "It is how we feel and that's what I want to tell him." With that, she eyed him with a somewhat devilish grin. "Are you ready to break his heart?"

Wess hadn't assumed they would be doing something like that tonight. It was a little sudden, wasn't it? But, well, he was unconcerned about the wolf's feelings. He didn't dislike Attel, but he didn't like him either. All too apathetic about it, his human side would like to say. That apathy told him all he needed to know about the time of night it was.

"Okay, but it has to be quick. When the sun comes up, I'm out. And you don't want me awake then." Wess held his hand out, for what he didn't know. He either planned on running her to the cave or following her; he just wanted the contact. "How are you going to tell him?"

Wesley desperately needed Claire to keep talking. It was instinct that had him asking, pushing for him to get her to keep talking. It kept him at the moment. Stable. Otherwise, his mind wandered to food. Always food and hunger and coldness.

"You can go whenever you need to, I understand." Though the constant thought of him leaving every morning was heart-wrenching for her, that was something she was going to have to get used to now. Her life would slowly have to entwine in his now, as that's what it meant to date someone. They would need to rely on one another, and Claire would have to understand when he needed to go and when he had to be a bit cautious around her. Though she so desperately wanted to be all over him, she knew that it wasn't an option. It was a big moment of change for the both of them. "I'm tired anyways, so after this, I'll have to get some rest before I have school..." Her schedule was way too busy. Having school, two jobs and now a boyfriend to be with, only at night? Claire doubted that she was even going to sleep at all.

She Took his hand as best she could. When they held hands, it was rather awkward as his fingers were lanky and his palm was a lot larger than her own. Though, there was a sensation in her stomach this time, as they held their hands together. "I guess, I'll just say it straight up. 'Wess and I are dating and I want to be with him.' Or something along those lines?" Direct seemed like the best way to go, as she would rather just spit it out and protect Wess if he wanted to hurt him.

Wess nodded, accepting that answer. His jaw clenched. It normally did if he wasn't baring his teeth, but this time, he was geared for a fight. If some beast attacked him, he was ready. The oncoming morning only made him answer, and Wesley was trying hard not to let that primal urge show through his eyes.

He was quiet their walk there, listening to Claire's heartbeat and looking around the area they walked at all times. Before they entered the cave, it occurred to Wess that Attel might have heard the news already. Hadn't Claire mentioned the animals talking to her and Attel, or something? His muscles tensed.

When they entered Claire's cave, Wesley slipped his hands from hers to keep them free. Just in case. His eyes were well accustomed to the dark, so that was no problem to him.
