The flow of green and brown was disrupted by a red and white checkered cloth that rested on the ground. There was a small, woven basket on the blanket, the top of it closed to prevent ants and the like from getting inside of it. If that were to happen, this whole surprise would be ruined. The last thing the immortal wanted was for this surprise to be ruined. Enelya was so amazing, and only deserved the best... he didn't want anything go wrong, especially tonight. Allen may have been incapable of reaching the physical grave, but the death of the heart was very possible. As long as that wonderful Plant Lady was happy, though, then he was too.
From the moment she had entered his life, there had been something different about her. Just the way she carried herself, the way she had danced along that beach... a smile tugged at his mouth when he remembered calling her a rebellious teenager.
-
"Mmk, so you nearly bump into me with your foolish dancing and all you can say is a hello? Not a 'oh, I'm so sorry!' or anything? Just goes to show, once again, that you children have no manners! And what's with the blue hair? You think your a rebel or something with dying it that color? And the petals... what, did you fall into a flower patch or something?"
"I'm sorry. I get a little carried away sometimes... The beach was lovely, and I couldn't help but dance to the music of the ocean. It's wonderful today... "I was born with blue hair."

At the memory, Allen finally laughed aloud. She was far from a rebellious teenager who just wanted to stand out in the crowd. Enelya was a kind, caring soul, despite all the pain that had happened in her life. She hadn't been born, but instead, created in a lab... and even though the Botinates tracked her down as though she were some animal, even though Kotah had abandoned her... she was still a wonderfully cheerful girl. She had problems and became what he considered insecure at times, but that was why he was around. He was there to make sure she didn't completely fall apart, to make sure for the rest of eternity that she was happy with her life. He would fight the Botinates away from her if it killed him in the process. It most likely wouldn't happen, considering the person he was, but even if it did... he wouldn't be sad over dying. To die to make sure Enelya was safe was the best way he could think of to end his time on this earth.
No matter what Enelya wanted, he would get it for her. Allen was completely and utterly devoted to her. She had come into his life at a crucial time, and shown him that this world wasn't as cynical a place as he had always found it to be. Enelya had shown him that there was still kindness in the world, even though there was enough hurt to match it. Such an amazing thing, this world... such an amazing place that he was only truly beginning to see...
Allen raised a hand and pushed a lock of black hair behind his ear, gazing at the small pond that was a few meters away. There was a convenient little boat near it, so hopefully after the little picnic he had planned they could go on it. A grin spread across his face when he put a hand in his pocket and felt the black, velvety box that would hide it from her eyesight.
Looking down, the former knight simply waited for the woman who he loved, unable to come up with any words in the English language to fully describe how he felt for her. She was Enelya Norvayn, though; it was impossible to describe her character.
