"I think.." Mal would pause, narrowing his eyes for a moment. "If we stay honest, stay open, and don't hold things back. This can be real, this can be here to stay, and we can stay together like this. I'd like to think this can be something real, something that can last."

Mal never was a person to grow bitter, if a relationship wasn't going to work he'd rather it end before they end up hurting each other. With that thought, he really thought that Eli and he were able to be together and enjoy each other, that it would be an actual relationship. At least he hoped it and believed it, he cared for Eli a great deal, and wanted what was best for her.

Eliana felt it odd that she wasn't afraid, but she was rarely afraid. If one day Mal picked up and left her, well, she didn't fear that right now. She was in a state of numb, looking at everything from the outside in and it was all good. She liked her life. It was fun and meaningful.

"Yeah, I like that. Me and you." It wasn't lost on Eli that his life would be a blink of an eye for her. One day she'd wake up, and he would be gone. Dead, or growing older and she'd live with the understand that he'd soon die. That was immortality, though, and after a time, you either got used to it or miserable. She choice the former.

Mal would move his hand from Eli's hair, letting it drift to her cheek, smiling at her. "Are you sure? Even though I'm so normal?" He'd say teasingly, but he did know their differences and at times it did weigh on him.

He knew she was immortal, not human, and just had her pick of men and women at a moments notice. Their views were different not just ethically, their time together probably was nothing to her in the long run, maybe something to ask her at a different time. She did always give such an intense answer last time he asked her about love.

"I love it that you're normal," she said as she kissed his nose, her lips just a second on his skin, so fleeting it was as if they were never there at all. "'

Right then, they were thinking all the same things. Eli's mind drifted to the possibility of making Mal immortal one day. She could find a vampire, something, anything. Would he even accept that? Want that? Outliving those you grew close to was hard on humans. For her, it was easy enough, she was born for it, but humans weren't meant to go through that heartache.

He'd bring Eli close, wrapping both of his arms around her and squeezing her tightly. "I love you dear, I'm glad you got me to rob for you." He'd say with a bit of a mischievous grin, remembering that day.

Perhaps he would live longer than an average human, considering his health and physical abilities, perhaps he'd be able to stay longer than most. Or perhaps he could figure a way to extend his stay, on this island of impossibilities there was sure to be some kind of power or item to keep him here. Maybe now wasn't the time for those thoughts though, this was supposed to be a happy moment, not a time for him to contemplate his own mortality.

"Me too." She lay her head against him, listening to his heartbeat and the way his chest rose with breath. It was all very soothing. She closed her eyes to focus on the sound. "I love you, too, and I'm glad to have you here."

She warmed him, but not just physically, emotionally as well. She made him feel whole, complete, like he was missing a piece of him that he never knew existed and she was it. She was home for him, away from home, a place where he didn't have to worry about how he acted and what he said, that she loved him was the only fact that he needed for a long time. Something he took solace in, as he kissed her forehead and held her tightly, not wanting to let go.

Eliana giggled, looking up and holding his cheek with her hand. "So, do I get to give you a massage now? I think I'd like to do that. It sounds fun to me. Put on some soothing music, show you a good time. Show you how much I love you."

There were all these ideas in her head, and they showed in the devious twinkle in her eye. They weren't bad, not all of them, but it seemed anytime Eliana considered doing anything it had just a hint of troublemaker to it.

Mal would take on his usual mischievous grin, it became evident then that they had this entire conversation stark naked, he debated whether or not to commend Eli on her self control. He decided not to and give a pleased groan instead, "I love the sound of that darling, you have such lovely hands for the job as well my dear."

"Good boy. Lay on your back," she instructed. When he had, she straddled him, kneading the muscles at his shoulders. She enjoyed the feeling of his back against her sex and the muscles of his shoulders. She wanted to pleasure enough to hear him moan. She wanted soft. Something gentle.
