"I think that's my point though." Mal's tone taking a sadder note. "I don't want to be someone who goes to get even, it's not how I do things. You should know that better than most. I do things out of kindness, not spite, holding onto anger and the like is pointless, one of you dies and then there's nothing. So, why go out of your way to do bad onto the ones who have done bad"

"If they really deserve what's coming to them it'll happen, and if it doesn't it doesn't really matter." He'd roll over so his face was in the bed. "Why cause more pain, when there's already so much of it, I just want to do good when I can do good. I could have done so many other things to him, but there's no point to it, and there's no point in helping him either."

"But if I can fix him, I'm going to, because I rather he be alive and doing wrong and ending up in jail again than doing nothing."

Mal would turn around and sit up, giving Eli a hug and resting his head on her shoulder. "I know it doesn't make sense to you, sometimes I don't get it either, but this is something I need to do. Thank you love."

Even though her answer was still a bit brash, he was happy that he finally got to tell her about the skeleton in his closet.

He'd start tracing a circle on the back of her neck, like when they were on the couch back at her place. "No dear. This is something I want to do for myself. Something I feel like I need to take care of, I wouldn't want anyone else doing it for me."

This was Mal's mistake, and he was going to set it right, even if she figured some way to resolve it, which was unlikely in Mal's mind, he wouldn't want it. Then, a thought occurred to him, "But, if you want, when I go home to visit my mother, at some point. You could come with, I mean, only if you wanted of course, and you could see her and we could see Tom. If you would be willing that is."

He'd laugh a bit, kissing into Eli's neck, "I like to think so. I mean if you don't think you can handle it then I understand."

"I know you can handle anything, I've had you in the bedroom." He'd mutter the little joke to himself but he was sure she would hear it.

"I think it's simple what I'd tell her, you're my girlfriend, I love you very much. If you want to tell her you're you're polygamous then that's your choice. My mother is rather open minded person, it's what she raised me to be, and she'll have to deal with it if she doesn't like it or you."
