He'd shrug a bit, "Well, you made it sounds like you were giving me my obituary. Seriously dear, it was really melodramatic way to warn me your family were going to tease me."

Mal would pull Eli closer, stretching his legs out himself, giving a soft laugh. "Wouldn't be the worse way to go down." A smile on his face, his voice dropping to a whisper. "Don't worry dear, I'm young, I'm a survivor, nothing is pulling me down right now."

Eliana sighed, equally as melodramatic as her little speech had been. "I told you I'm not good at all this touchy-feely stuff. I keep thinking you're going to leave. Like every time, you find out something about me that's going to be the last straw. My culture and your culture aren't known for mixing well, you know."

Eliana was feeling a lot of things right then. She wasn't sure what they all were, but some of the emotions made her feel like she was choking. The moon reflected in her eye as she stared up at it. "I am pretty melodramatic, aren't I?"

He'd laugh softly, "Yeah, I know dear, I've read the bible."

He'd shift his gaze to meet her eyes. "Yeah, a bit. But, that kind of nervous feeling, that fear of losing someone, me, is normal darling. It's what a lot of people go through in a serious relationship." He'd move closer to her, his nose only centimeters from his. "But I want you to know, I'd never leave you, no matter what, no matter what I learn or hear, nothing is going to tear me away from you. As long as you want me, you got me, I promise."

Eliana laughed in his face. It was supposed to be romantic, she knew that, but damn. Tall fuckin' order. "Never say never, papa. I get this feeling like you're seeing me with some seriously rose covered glasses to be able to say that. For all you know, we haven't even scratched the surface of my sheer fuckary."

ah well, had to try for a moment. He thought, laying back in the sand looking up at the sky.

"Perhaps, but I'll fight tooth and nail to stay with you Eli." He'd say, sure of it and himself, it was true because that's what he wanted.

"Okay," she said. Only time would tell and all that BS. When he laid back, Eliana took the chance to roll on top of him. That was more comfortable than the cold sand. As an excuse, she said, "don't wanna mess up my clothes."

He'd wrap his arms around Eli, he liked this, being close to her. It was starting to become his ideal happy place, by her, holding her, or even just seeing her was enough to make him smile.

"Of course, don't want to get them dirty." Mal would say, rolling his eyes a bit.

She leaned down to rub their noses together. Her smile wasn't as relaxed as it could have been, but Eliana would live in this moment for now. "I could always take them off. And oi! Don't roll your eyes at me. It was very reasonable."

He'd give her a swift peck on the lips, there was something uneasy in her smile that left Mal with a bit of worry. But he decided to not pursue it, just enjoy the moment instead. "You very well could, but that would dirty my mind instead of your clothes. Oh yeah, I'm sure it was."

"That doesn't make me not want to do it," Eliana said after returning his kiss. "But I'll be good." She paused, waiting to see if he'd object. If not, she'd roll to the side and land with a huff on the sand. "We could make sand angels, but that would just be messy.
