"I still think I liked training outside better."

It's raining outside.

"After all the garbage you put me through..you don't let me train outside in the rain? Erm.. not that I want to train outside... but it is so odd of you.."

If you catch pneumonia, you'll lose more training time. Don't be stupid. That includes speaking to me outloud.. I thought we covered that already?

Paul didn't respond to that. Corona was correct, of course. He got pretty tired in his training, being in the rain would probably make him sick. That wouldn't turn out very well. Still, he missed actually being able to hit things to test his strength. Or lack thereof.

Arwen felt awkward, listening to a conversation, even onesided, without being known, so she stepped into the visible, and smiled at the guy. "Do you make a habit out of talking to yourself? I hear that it's a sign of insanity." she said, her voice quiet.

Normally, she would have stayed where she was, but she was lonely. Being an almost ghost was lonely business. She made eye contact, her sad blue eyes sporting hundreds of years of knowledge. And then she remembered exactly what her eyes did, so she looked away.

She realized that suddenly appearing out of thin air probably wasn't the best way to make friends, but she knew it was too late now. "Sorry." she muttered, shifting her weight uncomfortably. Social graces did not come easily to her. At least, not after the medieval times.

"Ah! Who the what are kind of huh!?"

He fell backwards, obviously very frightened by what he just saw. Not only did he not realize that someone was there, but it seemed like she was some sort of ghost.

"Ummmmmmmm I uh.. it's uh- err.. I mean.. who the frick are you?" He finally spat out, not quite sure of what to make of the situation. Though she didn't seem dangerous..

Her eyes found their way to the floor, and she didn't look up at him, struggling to keep herself under control. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to frighten you." she spoke softly, her voice barely above a whisper.

She still didn't look up at him, but managed to force a small smile onto her face at his awkward words. "I'm Arwen. I really am sorry. Don't worry. I can't touch you, or anything else, for that matter, so I'm completely harmless, if that's what you're wondering." she spoke the whole thing without looking at him, but glanced up at him to see his strange position with her last few words.

She seemed nice enough. Corona hadn't warned him about anything, yet. Actually, Corona hadn't said anything yet. Paul found it sort of strange, but he didn't really pay any attention to it. He was more curious about this ghost... thing in front of him.

"Er.. no, you don't have to apologize. It's alright." He stood up and brushed himself off. "I'm Paul." He smiled at her and looked her over. How strange this situation was. He never heard of a ghost in this school. "Are you... dead?" He said this in a sort of odd way, obviously not trying to be insulting, though he definitely could've worded what he said better.

Arwen made a little sound that almost sounded like a laugh. "Well, no, I'm not.. exactly dead.." she said, a rare smile lighting up her eyes. She shifted her weight. "It's a really, really long story..But I'm basically dead, intangible, basically immortal, but I never completely died." she brushed her hair behind her ears, uncomfortable. It really didn't make any sense. Not even to her.

"I've lived for 1000 years, and I still don't understand." she added, turning her eyes away from him. It was kind of embarassing. She pulled a strand of hair over her shoulder, and toying with it. A nervous habit of hers. "So, um, a different topic would be better.." she added quietly, returning her eyes to the floor.

Err.. I don't understand. Do you know what she is?

No response.

Corona..?

No response.

Paul had a bit of a concerned look on his face. He wasn't sure why Corona hadn't said anything yet. It really was sort of strange. Corona almost always put his two cents in on something, especially if he was asked to. Something weird was going on.

"Oh, sorry... So, do you always stay up here in the empty halls? Not many people come up here. Sure you may be a ghost... thing.. but you aren't really that scary. Uhh.. I mean, you aren't scary at all. Actually, you're quite pretty. Are you all alone up here...?"

She swallowed. "Well, thank-you for the compliment, but it's not for people that I stay away. Being around people just reminds me that I can't be touched." her eyes teared up, but none fell, she smiled at him sadly. "After not being touched for 1000 years, it's easier to face when you're not continuously surrounded by people." she crossed her arms, not in a defensive manner, simply because she wanted to relax her arms.

"You look distressed. Are you alright?" she asked, revealing her ability to read people's facial expressions quite well. Not that Paul's face was extremely difficult to read..

He nodded, then adjusted his glasses. "Yeah.. I'm perfectly fine... why?"

That girl..
About time you said something. I thought maybe you dissapeared. Cause that woulda sucked.
I know her from somewhere.. but it doesn't make any sense..

A questioning look now appeared on his face.

what? Who is she?

No response.

Arwen frowned slightly. "No reason, really, your face just seems... a little.. tensed." she replied to his question, watching his face change again. Wisdom told her not to push it, since if it was any of her business, he would have told her, so she left it at that.

"Well, um, you seemed like you were planning on doing something, before I interupted you, so I can leave, if you'd like to continue doing whatever it is you were doing." she said, slightly uncomfortably, as she backed towards an exit. She could have gone through a wall, but it was a terrible feeling.
