Frankie was startled when he fell over, but knowing that she'd just passed out, she didn't move to him. "Um... Lieutenant Russell.... Are you ok?" she asked uneasily, peering over the edge of her bed at him.

She realized that she didn't know his first name, and that made her curious. She'd have to ask him about that later. But at the moment, concern laced her eyes as she looked at him, unable to do anything for him but ask. Well.. She was sure if somehting was really wrong she'd be able to do something.

"Um... Lieutenant Russell.... Are you ok?"

"I'm fine Miss Ramirez, I'm sorry if I startled you. My leg just buckled from earlier is all, I'll be fine." He tried to stand up but a sharp pain entered his knee. He must've hurt a little more than a bruise he decided it'd go away later. He edged himself against the side of the bed so he'd be near her incase something happened.

He didn't show his pain, though one could sense it since he wasn't standing. He wasn't able to or he'd injure his leg more, he guessed the fact his legs weren't muscley like that of a runner made the kick not be the safest thing to do but it was the best at that time. He looked at her, "You okay? That wound was pretty deep." He said a bit concerned seeing she had fainted just minutes earlier.

A smile tugged at the corners of her mouth when he shrugged off his own pain and then inquired after hers. It was such a typical guy thing to do. She nodded though, as though she totally believed him.

And then she nodded again. "Yeah. I've been through worse than this." she thought back to that time. He hadn't seen the scar that ran all the way across her midriff, but when he did, she was sure... wait a minute. When he did? She blinked at her own thoughts. Where did that come from? Another blush rose in her cheeks. "It's funny, since I'm really strong in fights and stuff, but things like losing blood and not eating completely inc-...." she cut herself off, realizing that she was rambling. Which was a sure sign that she was nervous.

She coughed experimentally. "Look, I know this whole thing about names is all by the book for you, but I'd really appreciate it if you called me Frankie...And if I knew your first name." she said, changing her position on the bed so that her head was beside his, though hers was sideways. Unconcious of her actions the night before, she was completely friendly, in a friend way, and didn't even notice how close her face was to his. She smiled, though it wasn't the goofy cute grin from the night before.

"Look, I know this whole thing about names is all by the book for you, but I'd really appreciate it if you called me Frankie...And if I knew your first name."

"My first name is Armand." He said understanding that she preferred shorter words instead of Miss Ramirez and Lieutenant Russell all the time. "I'll call you by your first name then since you prefer it." He said strictly business as usual. Though the idea of calling such a beautiful girl Frankie just didn't seem really flattering of her beauty. But he wasn't going to push it since she hoped he'd die and all.

He knew it was stupid to bring that back in his mind but he had to remember she had no interests in him. He was only to protect her and that was it. He looked at her, "You really need to learn to let me handle the fighting no offense. If you hadn't been so quick to shoot them you'd have been safe still. If you are in the hands of the enemy I'll get you back before they can hurt you. You need to trust me on that so I can keep you safe. If that bullet was just inches lower you could've died." He said a worried look in his eyes for a brief second.

She sighed, accepting his words. "Yeah, you're probably right, but at that moment, I would have preferred to die rather than be taken by them...Anything they could have done to me would have paled in comparision to what would have gone on at home..." she shuddered to even think about it, and pulled back so that she was sitting on her bed, looking down at Armand. "Are you sure you're ok?" she asked, unable to keep a little bit on concern out of her voice, the concern once again softening her harsh accent.

Armand.. That was a really funny name. Not that anything bout her pesonage said so. Combine his name with his strange behavior, his extreme army addiction, and his lack of emotion, Frankie was beginning to piece together that he didn't have parents, and he'd been an army kid all his life.

She ran a hand through her hair once more, trying to ignore the growing throb in her shoulder. It wasn't too bad yet, and she had a fairly high pain threshhold.

"I'm sorry to hear that Miss Ra..." He stopped himself remembering what she had said just minutes before. "Frankie." He said it a bit differently almost softer, he didn't know why calling her by her first name seemed so... Special.

"Are you sure you're ok?"

"I'll be fine." he took a small pill from a pouch and a tiny water bottle. "Here take this, it'll help with the pain." He knew the pain was there, he wasn't going to act dumb. Though she didn't show the pain she was in pain, he had been in battles before he knew what it was like to be shot. The pain was terrible, it lasted for days. He handed the pill and bottle to her, he knew medical emergencies were bound to happen so he always carried supplies.

He looked at her wondering why she was so calm in this situation. He admired the fact she wasn't like other girls he had met, though she was when she was drunk. But that was different, "How are you feeling? Dizzy? Drowsy? Light headed?" His voice was a bit cold but he asked in concern for her.

She chose to ignore the change in his voice when he said her name differently. She also didn't protest the painkillers. "Thanks.." she said, taking the pill with the water.

"How are you feeling? Dizzy? Drowsy? Light headed?"

"I feel fine." she said honestly, moving to stand up from the bed. She walked over to her dresser and pulled out a new shirt. She decided to be polite to Armand, and took the shirt into the bathroom, closing the door behind her.

She emerged again a minute or so later in a different shirt that covered her arms. She smiled blandly at him. And then the doorbell rang.

She moved over to the door and looked at the images, smiling in an almost excited way. She opened the door.

"Thanks.."

He watched her take it hoping her pain would go away and she'd feel better. He examined her making sure she didn't show any signs of infection or anything else that could possibly harm her. He didn't want to have her ill or unable to protect herself.

"I feel fine."

He watched her leave the room he tried to stand up whilst she was in the bathroom. He managed to make it onto her bed and straighten his knee enough to stand up and slowly make his way to the chair and pull it closer to the bed so he could be near her while she rested so he could make sure she wasn't falling ill. He sat in the chair after moving it about two feet from the bed so he wasn't too close but close enough.

He saw her come back out of the room, he kept making sure she was okay. He studied her emotions and how she reacted to things so he could tell if something was wrong in a emergency. He heard the doorbell ring, he got up removing his gun eyeing it on the door. He figured it'd be safer if she answered the door. He could shoot through the door and kill them. But he figured he shouldn't make such a mess.

Frankie smiled at the handsome boy at the door. "Hey Larry." she said softly, standing on tiptoe and leaning into a kiss.

After the short kiss, Larry pulled back, but kept his hands on Frankie's waist. "Frankie...We need to talk.." he said gently.

But the tone in his voice made her pull out of his reach. She knew where this was going, and she didn't want to hear it. Not right now. "Look, you want to break up, you found someone else who's everything I'm not. Did I leave anything out?" she said sharply, all sweetness gone out of her voice. She looked like she could shoot him.

The stupidly amazed look on his face said that she'd hit it on the dot. "Frankie, I really still..." he never got a chance to finish his well meaning sentence, because her hand was gripping his throat tightly. "Never. Ever. Finish that sentence. Don't call me. Don't talk to me. Ever." she hissed, releasing him, "In fact, maybe it would be best if you leaped down the stairs." she said steadily, slamming the door.

She didn't even look upset. She looked like she didn't care. She moved regally to the bathroom, and then shut the door. She turned the water on high, sat down, and let out a sob, dropping her head in her hands.

He watched the emotional scene lay out infront of him. He could sense she was holding the feelings she felt in. He never knew she even had a boyfriend, but now he saw that he wasn't even worth it. He watched the scene just imagining what she felt, she just didn't seem to fit well with the jerk of a guy. He saw her force him out and knew she was hurting more deeply than she let on. When he heard her sob he left the room running after the boy catching up with him halfway down the stairs. He decked him hard with his right fist making him fall the rest of the way down the stairs. He then turned and proceeded back up the stairs and to her room and opened and closed the door silently.

He made his way quietly to the bathroom door and opened it slowly. She moved to her laying a hand on her shoulder his eyes looked at her apoligetically. "He's a jerk to have done that to you Frankie, you deserve much better than him. He's not worth your sadness." He said meaning every word. He didn't know what these impluses were, being caringly nice to her and punching the boy. He didn't know why he did those things, but he didn't want to take them back either.
