"Then I'll make them stop," the child stated. And she would, too. The next time any one of those kids picked on him they were going down.

Eyes widened slightly when he mentioned that the woman who had tried to help him had killed his dad. "Who?!" she asked, surprised. Who would kill a kids father and then help the kid with his studies? It was stupid.

Catherine shook her head. "I don't want to be friends with people who make fun of others," she said. "And I wouldn't be broken, and I wouldn't be suffering because of you. I wouldn't suffer by doing the right thing." So maybe she would be a bit upset, but in the end, it was the right thing to do. If she had to do it, then she would.

Catherine just followed. "Is that what you want?" she asked him. He always seemed to say that... someone needed to show him how to have hope and to be optimistic.

When he started walking away, Alexiel put her fans away and got ready to follow, just in case. She didn't want Catherine to get hurt again, and she didn't want Soahc hurt, either.
