How coincidental.

Cordelia had, in fact, noticed this. Her lip trembled slightly as she wiped at her eyes. "Stupid allergies..." she said quietly, even though pollen had absolutely no affect on her. It was the living conditions of the house. Being a single parent was hard, and she, of all people, would know that. But to be living here... it just... oh, God, it broke her black heart.

She ordered the pizza, then hung up her phone. "It'll be ready in ten minutes," she said, wiping at her nose, still pretending like it was allergies. Stupid emotions!!

"So, what do you usually do until your dad gets home? Video games? Play outside?" So she was nosy. Oh well.

He shook his head slowly. He pointed to the shoe box which contained nothing but wrong answers and working trying to get them most of them were crumpled or wripped in aggrivation. He had no time to play outside...he feared his father to much to do much else then just work and try to make his life as perfect as possible even if it wasn't close to perfect in many people's eyes

Cordelia nodded. Well, she would fix that. She would definitely fix that. After a few moments, she looked around and walked toward the door, opening it and stepping outside. "Come on," she said to him. "It'll be ready in a few minutes and it'll take us time to get there and get back." She had to help his family out. The mother and just caring person inside of her had to do it.

"What are we doing?" He said not having the slightest idea what fun really was...he would remember kids playing outside the broken window of his house and only look away and try to drown out there laughter while he just stayed inside and worked pathetically on easy problems.

An eyebrow rose slightly. "Going out to get the pizza..." she told him slowly. Had he never been out of the house? Well, if he hadn't, then she would try and fix that, too. He was a child and needed to act like one before his childhood slipped away. "Come on!" Cordelia smiled and took a few steps away from the house, still waiting for him outside.

He looked down and then up at her. "You should have never involved yourself in me Miss Cordelia." He said looking at her seriously not knowing of any marriage relations. "I have a quiz coming up Monday...how do I pass if I still don't understand anything...today is Thursday after all...please just dont come back and ill pretend like I dont know who you are and nothing here will be your fault why I haven't passed...ill just work on this till my dad gets home again."

He said before turning away and moving back into his room. He knew she was trying to do what was best for him but there wasn't much that could be done...if he enjoyed any part of his life he would look at himself as lazy if he had the time for fun then he could be studying still. He also had a strong feeling that what he said might affect her decision on helping him. "I have worked...harder then anyone my age probably more then you will tutor me and my grades still haven't changed...not everyone gets a happy ending."

Cordelia stared at him, walking back into the home. It broke her heart that he had to act like this at age seven. He was a little boy... he shouldn't be so mature. She was silent, then hung her head, shaking it. She couldn't just let him fail. "I'm going to help you," she told him stubbornly. "It's Thursday. Monday is four days away. Tell me what the quiz is on and I'll help you with it." As a mother, and as a teacher, she wouldn't let him fail. She definitely needed to have a talk with this boys father when he got home.

"...not everyone gets a happy ending."

And with that said, she stomped right back into his house and put her hands on her hips, looking at him. Out of everyone in the world, she would be someone to know that happy endings were possible. People just had to go through absolute crap to get to them. "Oh, really? Sorry, kiddo, but your SEVEN. SEVEN!!! Not fifteen, not twenty, not some old adult. You don't have to worry about a 'happy ending', ok?!" Her voice was loud, and she was kind of yelling at him, but she wasn't losing her patience. She was just trying to make a point. "Don't have such a pessimistic attitude. Make friends and enjoy life. Life is short and you only live once, so there's no point in being depressed. Get the work done that you need to and actually have some FUN, ok?"

Hypocritical a little bit... one moment she was stressing that grades were important, the next, she was saying he didn't have to worry at this age. Oh well.

"No one will be friends with a poor 7 year old...you know my grades...didn't you at least read my files." He mentioned it because it actually said poor and has no friends and is very anti social since kindgergarten which means at that age when children are supposed to be innocent he was already judged.

"That's a lie and you know it," Cordelia said to him. Well, a half lie. "I guess Catherine hangs around you and talks to you because she doesn't want to be your friend. Yeah, absolutely NO ONE wants to hang out with a poor, seven-year-old." She sighed. Would people ever learn that money was trivial and shouldn't be the reason behind social statuses?

"I can totally see that all she cares about is how much money you have. I mean, kids are just SO shallow, right?" Cordelia's voice was just dripping with sarcasm. It was more than obvious she wasn't saying what she meant.

"You'd rather her feel left out by everyone when she finally realizes I cant offer her anything or do anything she wants to do because I am constantly working?" He asked he seemed to already understand people's feeling instead of himself.
