Gwynaria
Sylvie Ella Delacroix
“Have you made any friends yet?”
Sylvie had cringed at the question. Of course she hadn’t. She was spending all her time with Gwynaria because she hadn’t. Sylvie had answered honestly a few days ago, and today she was regretting it. It was now Gwynaria’s ‘sworn honor’ to help Sylvie meet students and make new friends. That is why the two of them were now outside, in the damn cold, offering free hot chocolate to students as they passed by. Apparently it was a thing that happened throughout the city at various businesses, and Gwynaria had decided to volunteer them both when the school decided to jump in on the free hot chocolate offering.
Gwynaria had insisted this would be a great way for the both of them to meet their fellow students—to make an impression, or whatever. So far, however, everyone was only interested in Gwynaria. Of course they were—she was a loud, flamboyant, attractive nearly eight foot tall horse lady. Sylvie just kept quiet and poured the hot chocolate as students came over to have some—mostly as an excuse to talk to Gwynaria.
“Free hot chocolate~!” Gwynaria called out as she stood in front of the table. As always, she gave everything 110% of her effort—even in the freezing cold weather. Sylvie, on the other hand, was pulling her hoodie over her head and using hot chocolate to warm her hands. Why couldn’t they do this inside? Sitting in the cold was just miserable.
“Wasn’t this a lovely idea?!” Gwynaria suddenly said as she turned around to Sylvie. “We’ve already met so many new students!”
“Sure…” Sylvie mumbled vaguely. You’ve met so many students, Nari, she couldn’t help but think to herself. It’s not that Sylvie didn’t want to maybe make at least one friend at the school, but…she didn’t think this was the way. She was too shy to try and really talk to anyone as she handed them hot chocolate besides ‘here you go, enjoy.’
But Gwynaria was too excited to notice Sylvie’s apprehension, and right away was back to drawing attention to the free hot chocolate and, albeit unintentionally, to herself.
