Celeste placed the baskets of vegetables and other ingredients on the long 15-foot table to the one side of the blackboard and her desk. There were eggplants, zucchini (or courgettes), summer squash, onions, peppers - both red and orange, fresh tomatoes, heads of garlic, fresh basil, and some lemons. There were also bottles of virgin olive oil, mozzarella, and feta cheese and a few loaves of french bread, baguettes.
Then she proceeded to write the name of the recipe on the blackboard in big bold letters: Ratatouille
Ratatouille, a very well-known French dish, was one of her favorites. It was also extremely easy to make despite what many people thought. The hardest part was actually preparing everything beforehand so that they cooked evenly and the flavours blended properly.
Putting the chalk down, Celeste went over to the sink to wash and dry her hands before her students began to arrive.
