"You are a shifter? That's interesting." Ruby floated around Yvarn some more to get a better understanding of this human appearance. He wasn't impressed. As Yvarn had said, there was a simplicity to it. No tails, horns, or anything else interesting to look at. "Yes. The human body seems to simple but simple things can also be interesting in other aspects."

Like their culture he was describing. For such a small planet, it appeared there was a lot going on for it. "So, they have a complex culture. It appears I have a lot to learn....or at least learn the things that will be the most useful to know."

Ruby floated back to be directly in front of Yvarn again and returned to the position he was in. "I've heard about this Narrow Reality and Manta Carlos from other minds. Are they different places on Earth or one in the same?"

A demonstration was done shortly after, he grew even more, a lizard's tail sprouting a little over his pants, scales coating his body, his face becoming no different from a lizard's either. A true lizardman, one might say, except he had a growing mane from head to tail. Maybe Ruby has seen something like Yvarn himself was before? Or heard about them? That was just a "maybe", however.

"We both have a lot to learn. But there's a longer road ahead of you, Ruby.", he was not making fun of them in any way, he was legitimately hoping they would continue to pursue to learn about humanity, "Manta Carlos is an island where many species lives, mostly supernatural or aliens from what I studied so far. Apparently it was accessible from Earth, before being isolated somewhat. Narrow Reality seems to be what they call the area outside Manta Carlos, where humanity remains ignorant to the supernatural."

"Now you are giving something to look at." Ruby smiled and laughed when Yvarn changed forms. "I think I enjoy this look more on you than the other one. You are very handsome."

Huh. That's odd but also not something that surprised Ruby. They come across different planets with various reasons for not allowing their people to learn what's beyond the stars. "I see. That explains why the cargo ship docked here instead of the actual planet. I assume this place is some sort of checkpoint then between Manta Carlos and The Earth."

It all just sounded like Ruby probably would only be allowed to go to this island place and the space station then. They didn't have a problem with this restriction but that still didn't disappoint them.

Earth adventuring seemed like a no-go so that just leaves the space station and Manta Carlos. Which he wasn't sure where that was if it wasn't on Earth and not another space station.
"Now, what do you mean by isolated? Is Manta Carlos located on a separate planet or has the moon been terraformed to allow an island?"

"I like this look too, mostly due to an emotional attachment to my parents... But yes, the station is a checkpoint, there's a school down in Manta Carlos where you can study to catch up with the knowledge necessary here...", Yvarn rested his arms on the "arms" of the "invisible chair" he rested on.

"Seems to be contained in a separate dimension while yet not detached from Earth entirely. I was able to use the internet service down in Manta Carlos to access numerous web pages from Earth, maintained contact with a few TokuOta (That is short for "Tokusatsu-Otaku", think of it as "fan of live action series"), and even make some purchases (although they are sent to a Postal Office Box, from which I have to withdraw personally). I have to look more into it.", he held his chin thoughtfully.

"Hm, a school? I suppose I should look into that then. A little extra knowledge can't hurt." He probably isn't going to actually take a class but he liked that it was a potential option.

"So an island on a separate dimension. That's interesting." And it sounds like a good place to hide out to them. Ruby wasn't well versed in one-dimensional travel but he was under the impression that it isn't something people could just have easy access to, specifically anyone searching for him. Plus if they did, trying to track someone to another dimension seemed like a very challenging task.

As for the this... Tokusatsu-Otaku thing, Ruby would just have to look into this later.

"Alright, would you mind showing me around then or at least the space station. I'm getting a bit bored being in this spot now."

"I'm not surprised by multidimensional matters, actually... I had a brother that is actually a me from another universe entirely that came to this universe." given the fact he used past tense, that doesn't bode well, but Yvarn wasn't sad or anything. After all, he never met his other self, only the daughter.

Standing up on the air after Ruby inquired for a tour around the station, he replied "Yeah, and I want to get something to drink on the way too. So, let's get this tour started.", leading them onwards to tour around the station, floating off the ground.

Ruby noted the past tense. He didn't think it was a good idea to pry him or his mind about what happened to this brother.
At the mention of drink, Ruby realized he didn't have anything to drink or eat in a while. It has been at least a few hours. This was a good chance to try out the cuisine here.

"I could also go for a drink...and food. I haven't had anything since I arrived here." He then glanced over to Yvarn with a bit of a pleading look. "I also... lack any funds. I used all my remaining money to get a ride here and a room for the day." He then glanced down sheepishly at the ground.

"I would....grateful if you can buy me food. I am not a picky eater. I can also understand if you don't want to pay for a stranger."

"I can treat you, alright. My savings have been on the green for the past month.", Yvarn have been cutting costs by going out with friends and splitting the bill evenly as of late, and reducing the number of meals too, after all... "Interstellar travels are indeed costly. I do recall my father having to transfer a large sum just so my ticket could be paid in full."

"There's a place nearby to get some quick to-go snacks... We'll pass by there first, yes."
, it wouldn't be long that Ruby would go on an empty stomach after all. "So, what's your story? Studies? Just traveling? Adventuring? Running away from a tyrannical regimen? No need for specifics."

"Ah!" Great! Ruby's act seemed to have work which is good because he really needed to eat. He glanced backed up to Yvarn and grinned happily as he clasped his hands together. "Thank you so much! You don't know how happy you made me feel!"

Oh, right. He needed to come up with a proper backstory now. Hmm. Tyrannical regimen was somewhat accurate but he didn't want anyone to know that in case that just so happen to stumble across his bounty by getting too curious. He needed to come up with something interesting but also not too interesting. A story, who is Ruby Marz?

"No....nothing like that." Ruby started and then did his best attempt at looking a tad sad. He stared off into the void of space thanks to a very convenient window nearby. "My home planet was destroyed a long time ago. A meteor struck it...not a lot of us made it. Ever since then we've pretty much been a nomadic species moving from ship to ship, planet to planet, galaxy to galaxy. Some found their own new home among the stars while the others wander aimlessly. Hoping to one day find a place to call home."

Ruby reached out a bit towards the window only to pull his hand back. He then turned around to face Yvarn again, starting directly into the man's eyes. "I am one of those who haven't found a proper home yet. I suppose you can call me a drifter."

"Ah, I like helping people when I can.", and Yvarn didn't need to hide that at all. Specially when it was a fellow alien. Ruby's story sounded off, he couldn't help but think for a moment that "It sounds like a fiction's story. Then again, I ain't even 50 years old, so what do I know?", shaking head at himself.

"Maybe you will find home in Manta Carlos. There is bound to be someone you can live with too.", they were close to a fast-food by then, "There's always someone looking for their S.O. there too, so should be easy to find someone who is a match for you."
