Today is the first day in the life of the alien known as "Ruby Marz". They thought it was a really good name to use, it sounded Human-like. Ruby wasn't sure how to come up with a local sounding name this time around. He didn't get a chance to prep himself on human culture or any information on the Starlight Observation Station itself. He just hitched a ride on some random cargo ship and let it take him wherever.
Hard to find someone if they couldn't find themselves on a map after all.

The space station was great. Ruby not knowing bumfuck anything about this place wasn't great. They were having a hard time understanding a lot of things. There were too many things going on and the place was just full-on diverse. Trying to use their telekinetic abilities to find a common form of communication proved a bit too difficult. They were picking up bits and pieces of multiple languages from multiple people. Plus some people were just immediately shutting them out. Which is rude. Just so rude.

So here Ruby was, floating aimlessly around until he can get familiar with his surroundings. He completely looked like a lost puppy.

Somewhere nearby a mind was overloaded with words. Further prodding on their mind would reveal: they were reading about Earth, more specifically of technological advancements through history. It all came from a tall man, seemingly human except for his unusual hair color. And then, he came to a stop, lifting his eyes from the book he was reading.

"Why do I feel like someone is staring directly at me?!", Yvarn's thoughts lined up again, and he searched for whoever caused this sensation to spark up. Hopefully, their line of sight would meet and Ruby wouldn't be alone anymore.

"Ah, hello. Do not be alarmed." Ruby's deep voice Echoed throughout the green haired man's head. Ruby slowly came to a stop and then started floating towards the person he was now linked with. This was round...something, they lost count how many times they tried this with people so far but here's hoping that it finally works.

Once he was actually in view and Ruby got a proper look at who they were talking too, he already knew what way to approach this.

"I apologize for the sudden intrustion but you seem like a very intelligent man with a bright mind. I am currently in need of assistance and I thought someone as smart as you could help me." Their voice echoed again into his head. Ruby stopped advancing forward once he was finally in front of the green haired man at a respectable distance. He simply just floated in front of him and gave a friendly wave. "This is currently my only way to communicate with people and I wanted to know if you could help me with that."

Once he found the source of the gaze he felt upon him earlier, Yvarn simply rose and eyebrow, thinking the response: "Ah, that explains a lot. It's not often I get someone eyeing me like that... Or talking to me through telepathic link. Not my element, so I'm not all that familiar.", at least he was nowhere upset for Ruby's "intrusion".

"Skipped on studying the language on the way here or something?", no, he wasn't mocking or anything, "But well, 'say' it: how can I help you? I got a lot of time to spare, no test in sight or anything.". Closing the book with one hand, he put it away in his bag, focusing on Ruby.

Ruby simply smiled as his voice chuckled in the man's head. "You are not used to telepathy? Well so far have been the only one to not freak out or get upset. I think you are doing pretty well." They nodded and floated around to his side as they were clearly still checking him out.

"And, yes. I didn't really have time to learn what I needed to know about this place." They got a bit closer to examine the book he was reading briefly and then floated back away.

"You are helping right now. The more I use my telepathy the faster I can understand whatever tongue you spea. I would also like some assistance with....knowing my surroundings." Ruby floated a tad bit closer to the man and tilted their head a bit. They were still very much giving him a look over. "Ah, my apologies. My name is Ruby Marz. It is a pleasure to meet you."

"Telepathy is one thing I don't come across often at all. In my planet the most common thing was element manipulation.", and to drive his point across he hovered a couple feet off the ground and pretty much sat on an invisible office chair, interlocking his fingers and leaning back. It was just plain air manipulation, but to a degree it replicated the effect of an office chair pressing against his clothes and figure.

Yvarn wasn't about to lecture Ruby about the importance of knowing at least one language to use on arriving at a different planet, mainly because there was no point in lecturing them now. "Feel free to poke around in my head for Earth - English. Don't be shy. Just be careful to not poke where you shouldn't.", he silently gave a chuckle, "Oh, pleased to meet you, I'm Yvarn Bywan"

So he finally got a name for the language he needed to learn, a name for his new friend, and also a nice little display of power. Ruby was very pleased with how things were going so far now. "Yvarn Bywan. A lovely name for a lovely man."

This Earth English language Yvarn had spoke of was, interesting. Ruby was starting to get a better understanding of it now the longer the conversation went on with Yvarn.

He chuckled some more as he did briefly think about seeing what else he could find in Yvarn's mind but decided against it. He didn't want to get can't off from a mind willing to share information so early. So Yvarn here didn't have to worry about Ruby snooping around in his thoughts any time soon. Ruby was much more interested in understanding this Earth English first. "Oh and don't you worry about me snooping. I'll keep away from any dirty thoughts that you might have."

"But if you suddenly do have any, your secrets will be safe with me."
They gave Yvarn a coy smile and held up a finger up to their lips. "Just don't think about anything you don't want me to know."

"Hm, What is this Earth planet like? I take it English is a common language among them."

There was a hint of pride that Yvarn had to his name, as evident from his smile. "Heh, you can't blame me for having dirty thoughts, can you?", he was still young and full of life ahead of himself, "To be honest, I don't have any secret worth hiding at the moment anyways.". Perphaps the worst Ruby could find is that his mother was a detective, but a relief is that she is retired.

"My people still lacks documentation on Earth, but due to some cultural match we had reasons to believe Sytrans and Humans share something in common, maybe our Gods have been to Earth a long time ago.", Yvarn thought for a moment, "So, I'm still learning... Unlike my homeplanet, mankind pursued multiple faiths and at some point stalled their development, before resuming. Still their entertainment is surprisingly close to that of Sytrans."

Ruby chuckled again at Yvarn's words. Then decided to reposition himself in the air a bit. He just floated lazily in the air as if he was laying on his side. He then rested his head on his hand.

"Hmm. So you are not from Earth." That was good to know. Ruby was under the impression he was actually an Earther but now he knows that wasn't true. He would have preferred to have made contact with someone from Earth but Yvarn would have to do for now.

He would probably look into this Sytran place later. It could be useful information down the road.

" Well what that does an Earther look like? From what I seen so far this station is very diverse. I'm not even sure I encounter a person of Earth....or is it that Earth have many peoples?"

"That's right, I'm not human either. But been transformed into human form to better blend with the society. Sytran thing.", that was the basic explanation Yvarn came up to his current form. "Humans have this standard body structure, but there are varied colors for eyes, hair, and different tones for the skin. Human physiology, so to say, is simple compared to us, aliens."

"What makes them particularly interesting is how complex their culture is: many languages, many religions, many regions split into smaller regions... And I have barely been to the Narrow Reality yet, just went a couple times there to get material I couldn't find in Manta Carlos."
, but at least he HAS been there. Some of his memories to having been to North America were still fresh.
