I'm Danielle, though feel free to call me by my username as well. I'm returning from a six year break from roleplaying after my three main boards simultaneously died; I just never found another good casual roleplay environment that caught my attention. SA looks completely different from most of the roleplay forums I've visited in all this time though.

Otherwise, I'm currently in the middle of college and am majoring in anthropology. (Archaeology classes are kicking my butt, and I'm excited to move onto other things next semester.) I'm living with my family to minimize expenses, but the bright side is that I get a car to visit my friends and my girlfriend with, so not a complete loss. Most of my free time is spent patterning/sewing clothes and cosplays or browsing tumblr. I wish I was a little more avid about gaming, but nothing has stolen my heart quite like Mass Effect, Dragon Age, and Pokemon.

It'll probably take me a little while to get a character up and running, but I'm excited to join in the fun here, even if I am a little rusty.

Hello Danielle/CyberneticDryad,

I'm ReD, and I'm a mod/Rp person here at SA, so if you have any questions please feel free to shoot me or kyros a PM (or hang out in the c-box with us--we're lucky to have a pretty knowledgeable member base).

Anthropology is so awesome @_@ I also live at home with my parents for the same reason. It clashed with my expectation of moving out when I turned 18 to go to college, but I'm lucky to go to an amazing school 20 minutes from my house and I don't have to eat cafeteria food for 3 meals a day so I try not to be too bummed out. Plus now I have stockholm syndrome with my hometown and I'm like "ugh where will I get good pizza and pirogi and kielbasa and chicken soup and noooo!!!"

Also it's been forever since I played Dragon Age, but I also loved it and had an addiction. Then I moved on to Skyrim. << It's been bad.

Anyway welcome again to the site and we look forward to Rping with you! We're currently in the swing of our October Events, so feel free to hop into any threads or start a new one once your character is up and approved. (I also highly recommend the plotting section since we are all plot-hungry in some way or another, so if you're looking to get back into the swing of RPing again its a great place to start or fight off writer's block with xD)

Hello Cyber!

Welcome to Starlight!

I actually had to look up the word Anthropology to figure out what it means. I guess I don't have a great understanding other than it's a study on humans, but I'm guessing it's like looking at our cultural history and nationality ideals as a people and the changes throughout time, the things we abandon and others that we kept since whenever?

As for me, I am a second year degree student studying Music Production. So I poop music out when I feel like it, and just like poop it's usually bad. I have also taken an interest in Sound Design for film, I like making things sound really huge and fat. Typically a hollywood cliche but if it sounds fat and punchy then it sounds nice to me.

Gaming is an area of topic that has sort of become a love/hate thing. One thing for certain I'd love to be a Audio Engineer in the games industry. However I feel games might be the demise of my studies. Haha!

Looking forward to having you here!

Oh, dear, sorry for the introduction post before disappearing like that! College life likes to suddenly throw giant pits of surprise homework at me sometimes.

Regardless, thank you for the warm welcome all! I've got a ton of character ideas right now and am trying to flesh one of them out right now, but I'll be sure to keep an eye on the plotting area!

Hahaha, I thought I would end up moving out like that too, ReD! Also similarly I am not bummed about not eating cafeteria food, and the commute isn't bad. I've been trying really hard to get into Skyrim, but thus far I haven't latched onto it like Dragon Age. (It's gorgeous and has wonderful music, so I watch my friends play a lot.)

You've got it mostly right, Savannah! It's kind of a little bit of everything, so there're people who focus on linguistics, modern cultures, ancient cultures, burials, ceramics, technology, archaeology, food, and just about anything else you can think of. Even if it's related to people in a roundabout way, odds are there's an anthropologist studying it.

Your major sounds really cool though! I don't know much about music production or sound design, but I get really excited about good sound design for the movies and tv shows I'm watching. (My family just politely listens to me geek out about it most of the time, whoops...)
