"Well, of course, you've been to those places. You're in one now." She stuck her tongue out at him playfully. Yes, she was a smart ass. He should probably get used to that. "Also, what a silly question. No, on this island you don't have to be adaptable, immortals are a dime a dozen here. With humans, though, yeah. You have to be adaptable. Adapting is what keeps people like us strong. Like it or not, humans can be scary little things."

"I guess so." He added on, feeling a bit special that even out of all the members on the island, there still wasn't a lot of people that were immortal like the two of them. "I have noticed it's a lot harder for humans too." That was what he had deducted from the time she had spent around humans. They seemed to be a lot more reluctant to adapt and change to their surroundings and situations.

He had gotten tired of this talking, as it really wouldn't benefit him to ponder these thoughts. "Are you actually going to buy something? Or did you drag me in there to see how much it would take for me to break?" Either way, he wanted to get out of there.

"Yeah, but humans don't need to adapt like immortals do. Immortals need to adapt to every new century so they don't bring any suspicion to themselves. Humans don't need that. Not really. Immortality generally comes with youth, too, which makes it worse. We don't have the excuse of old age."

Still looking at him, Eliana took the lingerie she had shown him and walked over to the cashier to pay for them. When she'd gotten her small pink bags, she held them up and wiggled them before motioning to the door for him and her to exit.

Once they had gotten into the car and Eli had put her bags in the back, she turned to him, still peachy as ever. "What next?"

"That's true." He had no problem in adapting, as he didn't want to make it obvious that he should belong to another century. He was still alive so he needed to act like it, even just a little if needed. He shrugged aimlessly as they walked over, not wanting to show her his inner excitement. He flushed his red cheeks as she waved around the bright colored bags, as if it was some price. "I hope I don't have to see you in those." Not that they would ever go there, but for all he knew, she could enjoy walking around with just her undergarments.

The walk to her car was a quick one, in no time he leaned on the window, having his head turned to her. "I don't know, we could go to my place and start getting some of my shit over if I'm really moving in?" It was best to start it now, while he wasn't at work, to start this process. "Or would you rather just go bad, it is kind of late." He was a night person, so if she wanted to go to sleep, he would most likely just read or make some new mix of tea.

"They're not for me," Eliana grinned, "and you'd be damn lucky to see me in them, don't even lie." Then she barked out in laughter. "Sleep? Sleep is for the weak. I'm a total night owl. I'll probably be gone most nights, though, so you'll have the place to yourself. Where is your home?"

She pulled out of the parking lot, not driving at full speed until he gave her directions. She kept the music low this time, so she could hear when she had to make a turn.

"Y-Yeha right." He shook his head, not wanting to think about her body in those weird pieces of clothing. It made him uneasy in his stomach. Even if were for someone else, there was another person he had not interest of seeing them on. "They better not be for me either. As some initiation into your house."

"It's three blocks from the Main Street downtown." It was bland directions, but he wasn't used to giving any. "You turn left up here, then after two blocks turn right and then right again and it's the brownish one with the sign Sip 'n Tell."

Eliana laughed at hearing the stutter in his voice. She followed his directions to a T. "Like I'm going to force you to dress up in some sexy lingerie. I said they were for my lovers. I'm not lying about that, jeesh." she gave him a puppy-dog stare. "Have you been hurt before, Monochrome?"

She parked in front of his shop and glanced at it, giving it an appraising nod.

"Lovers, right." He shook his head as the comment flowed back in. Seems he had blocked it out. No wonder why, even the thought of lingerie made him blush. He was surprised he was still conscious after all this girly stuff that had happened to him in the past few hours with this girl.

"Hurt?" He knew the answer was yes, but he wanted to know more. "Psychically or mentally?" They were the two main ones that he could think of. Getting out of the car, he smiled quickly to himself, seeing that his store was still exactly as it was before.

Eliana followed Monochrome out of the car and took a second to peer at his shop, getting a feel for it from her distance. She squinted, looking for hidden details. "I was joking, more or less. It's kind of a new age thing. Ask someone if they've been hurt when they're acting all distant or some bullshit." She turned her attention back to him and winked. "Maybe it doesn't translate so well. Kids nowadays, huh?"

She clapped her hands off as if dismissing dust from them and strolled toward the shop. "So, how much we hauling? How many trips would you say we have to make?"

"I've never heard of something like that." The sentences that she said felt out of place and awkward, but he has a tingling feeling that he knew what she was trying to get across. "You wanted to make sure that I was okay? How sweet of you." with a hint of sarcasm, he moved onto the next issue."Hey, are you hurt?" He asked her, for her to maybe get the same feeling he had. "I hope it translates for you."

"Well thankfully for you I don't have many worldly possessions so not a lot of junk." Monochrome pondered it for a moment as he sta
