He didn't quite know what he was expecting of Angelo's reaction. Even books would say that he wasn't the kindest of angels and being 'utterly pitiless' wasn't exactly a lie. As time went on he did grow apathetic towards the plight of humans and how morally grey their worlds could be. Instead he saw everything cast in black and white, favouring those with pure souls and coddling them while he damned the ones with even the slightest tarnish to hell.

"Not pitiless?" He muttered, though he couldn't help but grin slightly and meet him in the middle with the kiss. Oh, so he wasn't too badly effected then. Huh, Angelo continued to surprise him at almost every turn.

There was that warm feeling in the pit of his stomach that always kind of made him squirm, though it was nice to let it in again. It wasn't an unusual feeling and he'd certainly felt it before, but it had been a very long time since he acknowledged it, let alone act on it.

He put his hand on Angelo's arm as if to steady himself. "You certainly don't know me very well, do you?"

In truth, he couldn't quite bring himself to be upset over the revelation. In comparison, his seemed so much worse. He'd murdered someone - a violent, bloody death - and Tybalt had seen it. In comparison, finding out that his boyfriend (were they boyfriends? That was the question of the hour) had been described as 'pitiless' seemed like such a minor thing.

"Mmm, a bit judgemental? But not completely pitiless. You certainly pitied my sorry ass." He couldn't help but laugh at that, a throaty chuckle that he cut off with another kiss to Tybalt's lips.

Kissing him was far easier than trying to think about what Tybalt had seen.

Tybalt found kissing Angelo incredibly pleasant, and he let out a vague 'hm' of acknowledgement before they were right back at giving (or rather, accepting) those little pecks. His expression softened and his body language changed slightly; his shoulders weren't completely squared out anymore, and he had a hand resting on Angelo's leg.

"I guess I did. Just a little. You seem to be handling yourself, though." After all, he'd handled himself fine that time they were shot at. And he seemed somewhat composed this time around, even after thinking about one of the worst things he'd done. The only time he broke down was that week ago, when he'd more or less cried.

Angelo deepened the kiss, encouraged by the feel of Tybalt's hand on his leg. Or he supposed it was Puriel now - was his true (judgemental) name appropriate to even use? It seemed a bit weighty for an innocent makeout session.

He withdrew after a moment, giving him a little grin. "If there's one thing I've learned, it's that beating yourself up over things in your past doesn't really help. Better to spend that energy on something helpful - helping people, moving past stuff, doing better next time." He lived by that. Better to make sure he'd be prepared with a better solution the next time he faced a crisis, rather than becoming upset he'd made the wrong choice the first time. Actions would help him, not regret.

"I'm probably overdue on a trip to the confessional, though." He did regret that, of all things.

Angelo was always awfully optimistic, wasn't he? Tybalt couldn't help but smile just a little, planting another kiss on his forehead. "Whatever you say, Angelo."

Tybalt didn't linger on things simply because he was too damn old. The only thing he was still pained by was the fact that he was cast out of heaven; anything that happened on the mortal plane seemed null and distant when it came down to time. He couldn't even remember his first love, which was probably rather sad. And if Angelo ended up gone, too, would he remember him?

"There are a few churches on the island. Maybe you can visit sometime." Tybalt himself never really went to a church. He did visit from time to time, always lingering in the back and never making himself too known.

"But for the time being... I think I'm comfortable where I am." Practically in Angelo's lap, it seemed.

Angelo couldn't really complain about where Tybalt was either, but he could improve the situation. He shifted his weight, leaning over to wrap his arms around Tybalt's hips and pulling him into his lap. Being almost in his lap wasn't enough. Tybalt was so slow to show physical affection that when he did finally do so, it was a relief.

He wound his arms around Tybalt's torso, leaning his head against the other man's back as he settled in, enjoying the proximity and feeling of warmth.

"I wonder how many hail mary's I'd have to do if I confessed to pining for a fallen angel?" Nevermind that it was a male fallen angel. And nevermind all the impure thoughts that came along with that.

He figured he'd have to learn to live with the fact that Angelo was very affectionate. He'd known plenty of people in the past who were well beyond touchy with him, but this time he supposed he could tolerate it long term.

"Pining?" He cooed, leaning back against Angelo. Okay, so he was more than comfortable where he was, even if it meant sitting square in the other man's lap. He settled down fine, though, wrapping his arms over Angelo's and making no move to shift off. "Is that what it is?"

He couldn't say he minded it. This is why he tried not to grow too fond of people; he was aware that Angelo wasn't completely human, but he also had no idea how long he'd be around. Perhaps a little longer than usual, but by how much? Just the thought of it saddened him a little, so he pushed it aside.

"Well, it's certainly a nicer word than some of the others I could think of." He said, his amused smirk hidden only by virtue of Tybalt's back being to him. He left his arms where they were, leaning forward to rest his cheek against Tybalt's shoulder with a happy sigh.

"I have to admit I could get used to this. I was worried, but... I suppose it means we're a good couple that we're capable of moving past arguments." Wasn't that supposed to be one of the big struggling points for new relationships? Everything was all fun and games until the first argument, and then things went down like the titanic. Angelo had already had that sort of thing happen to him twice, and he wasn't eager to repeat the experience.

Tybalt was snapped out of his thoughts by the feeling of Angelo's chin on his shoulder, putting a comforting weight there. Yeah, he could get used to this for the small amount of time that he was around. Unless Angelo was actively goddamn immortal, he doubted he'd be around as long as he was. He was not at all comforted by that, but he'd attempt to make the best of it. Maybe. If things worked out.

"That wasn't a small argument." In fact, it got rather big. They'd fought, Angelo cried in front of him, they ignored each other for a good week... And now they were cuddling on his bed. It had been quite a leap, but it worked out. He ran his fingers over Angelo's arms, letting the scenario run through his head. "Funny how life works that way."

He turned his head and gave Angelo a kiss on the cheek. "Now what?"

Well, it was a small argument to him. He supposed that was a side effect of working with the mafia - an argument where no one got killed or threatened with murder didn't really count as a real argument, even if it had been upsetting at the time.

Probably for the best if he didn't mention that. "Well, we didn't break up at the time, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been." That would have been bad. Angelo didn't like even the idea of breaking up, let alone the actual experience.

As for what happened next? Well, he could think of a few things, but something told him that Tybalt was probably firmly on the side of 'taking things slow', and that curling up on his bed making out was probably pushing it.

"Hmm. Well, we do dinner a lot. And lunch. We could do a mov-" He cut himself off, scowling with the realization that they couldn't just cuddle up in front of the TV. He didn't have a TV - Jack did, and he borrowed it. "Do you have suggestions?" He finally added lamely.
