Hawaii Trip: we're at the beach but we're not swimming with the fishes

Mal would follow the gaze of Eli, she must be worried about her friends. He had half a mind to redirect their path so she could talk to them and try to help, unfortunately that half of his mind was the losing half.

He'd return her half hearted smile, hopefully a distraction would cheer her up. "Let's get to it then, no time to waist."

Wrapping his arms around her shoulders he'd head towards the hotel, wondering if everything was gonna be okay out here. These people are adults, probably, they can handle things. He saw brief images of lightning and explosions, with the realization that these party goers had insane abilities. Best to get out of here soon before something hits the fan.

Artesia had finally found her friend Chloe! Sure she had been having fun by herself for some of this party, but hanging out with friends was much better than following locals around and seeing if they where in any undercover drug deals. This party was the first opportunity to wear the nice green dress she stole after her mother kicked her out of the village! She wasnt sure if she liked dresses though.

"Chloe my friend! How are you doing at this party, I just got done following someone for an hour!"

She was a little drunk.

"And who is your short friend? Is this a dwarf? My mom said dwarfs are inferior beings to elves but shes a BIIIIIITCH!!!"

She was really drunk.

When Eliana returned, she beelined to Chloe. She looked at the goblin and the other girl before settling her attention on Chloe and smiling a hint. "Hey."

They all seemed drunk. Drunk as all shit. Eliana supposed they could be drunker, and that was their prerogative. Smashed people could be fun to watch, but there came a point when they just kind of...fell over. Or cried. The getting into fights, dancing, and professing love stuff came at the stage before it was just sad.

"You guys look...hammered. Or getting on your way. Gonna have that killer headache in the morning? I'll try to make as many loud noises as I can."

Dorito was able to get her Midori sour, plus a shot from Chloe. She started with the shot, making a face at the bitterness. She could feel herself shuddering a bit, a coldness all around her creeping in from the back of her mind. She started to drink the Midori sour. The cloying sweetness followed by the sting of alcohol made that coldness fade, as did the sudden appearance of two new people.
ONe of whome was so incredibly smashed it made Dorito jealous.
Cheeto didn't respond to Artesia at first, she was already massively self-conscious about the fact that she was no longer at the academy, that she looked like some sort of little brown freak to the outside world. And she didn't have anything to say to Elaina either, who she frowned at slightly. It wasn't like Elaina was making any remarks that'd improve Dorito's mood.

Mal would trail behind Eliana silently, he was more enjoying the fresh sea air than the company but that was more to the point that he didn't really know them. He toyed with a gold doubloon, twirling it in-between his fingers, that he materialized, gotta keep the hands busy and all that.

The company was rather intoxicated, which was normal for a party but Eli also mentioned there was grieving, so it double the reason to get hammered he supposed. Mal would take a position next to Eli, politely smiling at each of them before resting his eyes on the horizon. His own alcohol content had worn off, so he was rather lucid at the moment, but silence was a far more comfortable thing to do at the time.

Besides chatting up people wasn't his thing, unless he was dragged into it of course, then he was all charm. He'd look down at the doubloon and give his hands a bit of a flax, turning it into a of a Roman bronze coin and then he continued toying with it.

"I'm not going to remember... any of this tomorrow, Eliana," Chloe slurred. "But don't worry, I'm drinking water too. Drinking lots of water helps you not get hungover, right? I read that on the internet once."

Chloe laughed, then made a loud "PFFFFFFT" sound. "I must sound like a freakin idiot." She was certainly talking enough for Dori and herself combined.

She looked at Malvoes, her eyes narrowed. She registered the fact that this guy was on the plane and he had been hanging around Eliana the whole time. "Ohhhhhh, you're her boy toy!" Chloe announced this loudly enough that other people turned their heads. "Have you turned him into a dirty sinner yet?" She asked Eliana.

Even if Chloe and Dorito could have blended in thanks to the glamours disguising them as humans, the half-demon would be drawing a lot of attention to herself at this rate.

"Hi Artesia!" Chloe said, tired. "Glad you're having fun. Myself, I hate everything so I'm getting extremely drunk."

Artesia was talking about her mom being a bitch. "Yeah, fuck your mom. I mean, uh, don't... don't have sex with your mother," she slurred. "But fuck your mom, you know? That's racist as hell. Also this is my friend Dorito who is a goblin. Your mom would probably hate that EVEN MORE."

Then, Eliana joined in, remarking on how drunk they all were.

Eliana just stifled her laughter (though it danced in her eyes and unquestionably shown through in the way her shoulders jerked to hold it back) as Chloe rambled about getting drunk and how water might help with a hangover. Eliana didn't know the answer to her question because Eliana had never had a hangover. She only knew about them secondhand.

"You just sound drunk," Eli shrugged, her expression jumping from humor to light concern. "Don't worry about it; you sound cute." Eli followed Chloe's gaze as it locked onto Mal. Oh she was making a big ol' ruckus now, wasn't she? Eliana didn't mind all that much, one side of her mouth quirked with the beginning of a smile.

"Boyfriend. He's my boyfriend," she corrected, not that she thought Chloe would even remember the correction by morning, but it felt worth saying anyway. "And you can say I have, but I sure didn't get away with it." She gave Malvoes a quick wink here.

Eliana closed the small bit of distance between Chloe and herself, wrapping an arm around the other girl's shoulders and pulling her in close for a half hug. She looked at each drunk girl, realizing that they might all start getting to that loud, weirdly fun stage of intoxication. Was she going to have to be the responsible one and make sure they didn't say anything that might hint to the preternatural world? That wasn't good.

Eliana met Malvoes' eyes with that help-me-out-here worry etched into her grimace. She was not good at responsibility, but he was. She assumed he was. He seemed responsible; he sounded reliable. "Maybe we should...go near the bonfire or something?" Somewhere more private, somewhere they couldn't reveal anything.

Chloe furrowed her eyebrows. "Boyfriend? You? But I thought..." she went from confused to saddened. "That, we... And that you were..." Chloe rubbed her eyes. "Fuuuck meee. I need more drinks." She needed to get so wrecked that she stopped hurting. She wanted to get so wasted that her mind no longer registered the concept of a 'significant other.' Alcohol could do that, right?

Eliana wanted them to move to the bonfire. "Is it a magic bonfire that serves drinks? If not, then, fuck the bonfire." She took a drink. "Except fucking a bonfire is probably a bad idea, even for you. Stick to your boyfriend. Fewer third degree burns that way, I'd think."

Ah, drunk was most of the conversation it seemed. He'd have a bit of a bashful smile as Eli winked at him, Mal was a bit more reserved than present company it seemed, but he was happy that Eli referred to him as her boyfriend, it made it feel more real, like more substantial.

He'd flip the coin into the air, turning it into an old yen coin and leaving it to float in the air flipping for a bit. Under his composure he was thinking of ways to help Eli out, she was obviously trying to think of way to get Chloe sober. Then he recalled the fact they were in the normal part of the world once more and he let the coin drop back into his hand, hoping that no one noticed it changing and levitating.

Mal didn't realize that time had gone by so fast, at least enough for a bonfire to be lit. "Well, I'm sure there'd be people there with drinks, it is Hawaii, one of the top vacation locations. Or we can swim for a bit, water was nice, or-" He'd drag out the or trying to figure out an alternative that these girls would be more interested in. "We could raid the mini bars in our hotel rooms. Or we can hit up a place for food." Thinking some more. "Or get some energy drinks to stay up longer, don't want to crash from the drinks you're hammering down." Caffeine sobered people, dehydrated them just like alcohol but she was drinking water as well.

He contemplated whether or not a ruffie he made would actually affect people correctly, and knock her out. Better to not try it though, it sounded like a bad idea even with a regular pill, Mal would shoot Eli a look, try to get her to think of some ideas.
