"Hmm, riiiiiiight...."

She nodded, thoughtful. Evie wasn't a particularly great judge of character, but at the very least Fennick didn't seem to be leaving anything out. She figured she could take him at his word. She finished off the rest of her sub, licking the sauce off her fingers before she came to a decision.

"Alright!" She grinned. "How much is this gonna cost me?"

”Gonna cost money,” Fenn found himself snarking. After a moment of thought, he shoved the rest of his sandwich in his mouth and brought out the goods again.

Sometimes, he jacked up the prices. Usually happened when the customer was being a real dick. But, Evie was decent, and obviously new to this, and he wasn’t scaring her off of he could help it. “Giving you a cheap deal. Twenty bucks a pop. You want both, or were you thinking of just one?”

Twenty bucks still bought a lot of cup ramen.

Twenty bucks, that was a lot cheaper than Evie expected. When she thought of drugs she thought of these big, massive expensive deals. Evie wasn't exactly swimming in cash, she got an allowance from the academy, and tried to avoid spending too much of it (mostly by shoplifting the stuff she wanted). Still, she thought she might try to sweeten the deal a little bit.

"Aww, c'mon Fenny! You're breaking my balls here!" She grinned, playfully. "How about I buy two of those Spirit mint thingies for 15 each, and if I like them I'll come by some of the Honey for 20 afterwards?"

She, of course, had no idea how to haggle for drugs. But she thought it was worth a shot.

Ahhh, haggling. A thing Fenn was used to getting offered in this trade. And, a thing he sometimes wearyed of. He admitted that he hadn’t much of a clue how to do it properly. Something about how the kid just launched right into it, so brazenly and obviously, told him that she probably didn’t know all that much either.

Welp, time to no-sell that nonsense.

“Okay, you thin slice of nutloaf, I’m gonna admit something to you now, something most people folks I sell to don’t know. I… weren’t one of the pushers, where I came from. Not usually. I mostly just grew the stuff, with a friend of mine, and made it into the things that other people in my Court sold.” His antennae twisted shyly as he tugged on his sweater. Playing up the pity factor wouldn’t hurt, he figured. “Working by myself means doing that now. So, um, forgive me is you’re used to doing this with your dealers. I prefer to not.”

Even the things he was supposed to specialize in now, he wasn’t actually all that good at. Funny, that.

He swatted the thought away. The pity wasn’t supposed to be felt on his part. That was just awkward. “So, anyways, look, I’m already giving you this stuff for cheaps. It actually goes above fifty sometimes, depending on how I racket it. That a good comparison? You’re taking it for twenty, kid.”

Evie pouted, crossing her arms. Fennicks sob story didn't really end up phasing her, she was actually far too busy trying to figure out what the hell a nutloaf was to feel sorry for him. But soon after, she started to crack a smile again.

"Aww, well, you can't blame a girl for trying, right?" She giggled, before digging her wallet out of her pocket, flicking through the cash she had. She frowned a little to herself. This was gonna hurt her funds a lot. But she really did wanna give them a try...

"Alright! Only 'cause you're a cool moth guy." She smiled, giving him a friendly thump on the shoulder. "I'll still take two of those Spirit Mint things."

She pulled out a pair of twenties and held them out for him. Truthfully, while she was definitely eyeing the Honey Candy, it sounded a little more...advanced, for a beginner like her. She thought it best to build her way up to those.

Not because she was slightly afraid, of course. That certainly wasn't it.

“Cool moth”. Fenn could work with that. Though, he saw the way she eyed the vial. Unease. A “not ready for” look. For a moment, Fenn hesitated himself. Should he even give her the Spirit Mint? Evie was a little young compared to most of his customers…

Eh. Best not to think about it. Onward with the transaction.

Still wearing his smug half-smile, Fenn handed over two baggies of Spirit Mint. The money was plucked gingerly out of her hand. “Good dealing with you, kid.” And, briefly, he flourished the Honey Candy before putting it back in his pocket. “Don’t worry, this stuff isn’t going nowhere. You ever change your mind and decide you want to take a chance on it, just remember that I’m around.”

From the pocket where some of the sub sandwiches had disappeared into, Fenn pulled out a (slightly sauce’d-up and frosted-over) Nokia. “Before you ask — those smarmy touch-screen thingajigs don’t work for me. Probably has something to do with my icy stuff. You want a phone number for later reference or anything? I know people these days use ‘em more than just agreeing on a place you can find each other again later.”

The transaction was made. Evie held the little baggies in front of her face, giving them a quick shake as if to confirm the contents within to herself. She had the same wide grin on her face that she wore before, though in the back of her mind she was feeling distinctly anxious. This was uncharted territory for the young girl, and she was diving right into the deep end. She hadn't even tried regular weed yet.

But along with that anxiety was a sense of excitement, a thrill at knowing that she was taking something restricted, something dangerous. A much bigger part of her couldn't wait to try them.

...Though maybe not right away, she'd need to wait for the best time, of course.

"Jeez, that thing looks ancient." She giggled at his phone, even if it wasn't that old, anything without a touchscreen might as well be an artifact from a bygone era for most teens. "Alright, gimmie your number, I'll hit you up if I wanna try out more of this stuff."

She took out her own phone and exchanged numbers, before stuffing it, along with her new drugs, back in her pockets.

"It was a pleasure doing business with you, Fenny." She spoke with a faux exaggeratedly formal tone, straightening her back and holding out her hand to shake, the smirk staying on her face.

”Nice doing business with you too,” he said, grinning as he took the hand shake, his skin as unwelcome and frosty as ever. Her expression reeked of something plastic— fake. He let it be. “I reckon we be might doing more in the future.”

All in all, a successful day for him.

He glanced down at her wrist, ears flicking back. Oh right. “You mind giving me my bracelet back? Gonna need it to keep drinking...”

"Aww, alright."

She slipped the bracelet off, tossing it over to the moth. Truthfully, she was kinda hoping he'd forget that she had it. That thing was pretty useful for a juvenile delinquent such as herself. Maybe she should look into finding where to acquire one of those for herself....another thing to consider later.

For now, she was ready to head back to the dorms. She was starting to sober up from the alcohol earlier and could feel the beginnings of a headache coming on. Tonight had been a lot more interesting then she had expected, she was very curious to find out what her new products would do.

"Welp," With their business concluded, she stepped towards the exit out of the alleyway, still facing Fennick, walking backward while leaning forward, her usual smirk on her face. "Guess I'll see ya around hey, Fenny?"

Fenn snapped the bracelet securely around his own wrist again. Truth be told, his left hand had been feeling a little strange without it there. Too light.

“Sure thing,” he replied, slicking back his antennae. “Don’t get too crazy with that stuff now.”

Chuckling, Fenn fluttered back into the sub shop. He had a little cash, and thus, a couple more sandwiches to buy...
