Maisie Belle gently kicked down the door to her dorm room. She held a little bundle in her arms as she lightly called through the dorm, "I'm back!" Kicking the door closed behind her, she let the wriggling furry lump in her arms down and watched with a grin as the baby goat started bouncing around her. When she didn't hear an immediate backlash from her roommate, she ventured further into the dorm. "Aaanyone here?" she called, and when she didn't get a response, she turned and clapped her hands. "Guess who's got time to play? We do!"

And that's just what she did until her roommate got home; she had fun all on her own with her brand new furry hoofy friend. She cheered the goat on as it made itself king of the world by standing on anything it could jump on, one of those things being her roommate's bed. The goat jumped around on the bed and Maisie laughed her butt off, strongly considering joining it. She was halfway to her feet to do just that when she heard the front door open.

Ash's nose twitched as he walked through the halls, he was picking up the scent of some animal he believed, one he couldn't identify at the moment. He didn't give it much thought, lots of odd things passed through these halls, it wasn't unusual for him to pick up scents he didn't know.

Eventually the amber eyed boy came to his dorm and found the scent even stronger here, as if coming from there. The corner of his lip twitched as he thought about what was going on, sighing the vampire pushed the door open and stepped inside.

His sharp eyes zipped around the room and quickly landed on his roommate before moving to the small creature bouncing on his bed. It was a goat, there was a baby goat in his dorm on his bed. Ash's eyes looked back to Maisie, then to the goat and finally back to her.

"What in all the hells is this?" he asked, pushing the door closed ad he stepped over to the bizarre scene. "Why is there a goat?" he asked, silently pushing through multiple layers of confusion. "I appreciate you bringing me food....but I'm not a chupacabra," he was joking of course, he would hurt the little thing.

Maisie perked up and waved happily as the goat leapt about. "Ash, hey!" she said with a big ol' grin. "This is my goat, Mallow, and she's very happy to see you, as you can see by the spaz attack she's having. Ain't she a doll? Just a little old darling? Prettiest little baby you ever did see with fur and hooves? My adorable little monster!" She stopped talking sense to coo to the baby goat that had way too much energy.

Maisie scooped up the kid from Ash's bed and brought her over to him, smiling as big as she could. "Say hi to Ashy, Mallow-darlin'! I call him Shortcake, because he's short. Look at him, all nubby and tiny. Look at you, all nubby and tiny!" After another bout of cooing, she held the goat closer to her roommate. "I brought her here! Don't you just love her?"

"I found the poor thing in one of them shelters, and darn it all if I didn't fall in love with her right then. I couldn't just leave her there to grow up behind bars! That'd've been a darn sin, it would've."

Ash listened quietly, occasionally glancing between his roommate at the baby goat. Once again she'd done something that completely surprised him, something he had no way of expecting and so he wasn't really sure how to react. How does one react to coming home to a baby goat on your bed.

"I....," he started but found himself at a lost of words, his roommate's explanation hadn't really done anything to help his confusion. "Why did you buy a goat?" he asked, thinking her explanation didn't really fully explain things, "can we even keep a goat here? Actually I'm pretty sure farm animals are a no."

He looked down at the baby goat, which was possibly the weirdest animal he'd ever seen, "we're roommates Maisie, you need to talk to me before bringing home pets." Odd, again his life was incredibly odd and unexpected.

"I bought a goat because I wanted to buy a goat, Shortcake, don't you get that? Haven't you ever wanted something before?" she asked, obviously joking a little as she was still grinning. She pulled the goat back to herself and gave it gentle pets since Ash sure didn't seem willing to show her poor pet any attention other than looking at it oddly.

"See, I ain't ever had a roommate before, Ash! So you gotta lay those sorts of rules down straight first thing--don't some of y'all even print out contracts or whatever and make new people sign them? And they got all them fancy rules listed out, such as 'don't bring adorably cute things into the dorm?'" Maisie leaned to let the goat hop back to the floor, its little hooves clicking and thumping on the hardwood as it bounced around and tried to headbutt Ash's leg.

With her hands free, she went over and pressed her side against his, leaning on him and looking up at him with those pretty doe eyes that she'd been practicing since she was little. Her skill was far beyond puppy dog eyes--at least she thought so. "Don't you think she's pretty, Ash? She ain't causing you any trouble, just look at her."

Ash tilted his head and looked down at the baby animal as it bounced around, and started to playfully headbutt his leg. "Pretty isn't the word I'd use," he looked over at Maisie ad she started to lean on him, clearly trying to beg him to agree to the animal staying here. "Why a goat? Couldn't you have gotten a cat or a dog....or a rock?" he glanced back down at the baby as she continued to play.

Sighing, he reached down and gently picked her up, somewhat out of annoyance as she wouldn't leave his leg alone, he looked at her, not really sure what to make of her. "Odd looking thing," he glanced back at Maisie, crazy girl with her crazy ways, bringing crazy animals into his already crazy life.

"Fine," he relented and gave the goat a few awkward pets before releasing her, "just try to keep her off my bed, and from chewing on any electric cords." He wrapped his arm around Maisie in a quick hug, "this it though ok? No other animals. I've uh....never actually ever had a pet before."

Maisie quietly squealed and twirled and picked up her little baby goat off the floor. "Thanks, Shortcake!" She leaned up to press a quick kiss to Ash's cheek and then started off for the front door. She stopped to put on her cowgirl boots, glancing back at her roommate as she spoke.

"I'm heading out now, alright? I'd expect I don't need permission from you to do that," she laughed, sticking her tongue out at him. "And I hope you didn't need anything from me right now, 'cuz I'm gonna be out for a little bit while I help tuck Mallow in with Marsh. Marsh and Mallow are really good kid friends, y'know."

Her fingers gently rubbed the top of Mallow's head, who was making little noises every now and then and sometimes tries to chew on her sleeve, but Maisie nudged her away and cooed some more.

Ash watched her leave, his fingers rubbing at the cheek she'd kissed. Such and odd girl, but he enjoyed having her around, even when she caused the weirdest events to happen. Smiling a little, he dusted off his bed and took a seat, yes, his life was odd now, but he was enjoying it.
