Nikola stretched his arms above his head, kicked a leg up on top of the other, and let out a big yawn as his eyes closed and his sight of the sky above grew dimmer and dimmer. The grass felt good beneath him as he lay. He could be here for days on end...if his classes and his job permitted.

Which, of course, they didn't.

Parents and children alike enjoyed the park around him. It seemed this was the annual gathering of the kites or some such thing, as all around him, kids had kites, big and small, polluting the air. The sunlight beaming through the wings of the kites painted the ground in such a way that Jackson Pollock would be proud. Nikola, eyes closed and barely conscious, was using his power to keep the kites aloft, moving them around in ways that were just natural enough to not draw attention from the parents. The kids were, however, amazed. A smirk emerged on the face of the demigod, as he decided the children were having just too good of a time.

With a slight, mostly unnoticeable flick of his wrist, two of the kites tangled together and were sent spiraling towards...

*CRASH*

...right onto someone's head. Cracking open an eye, Nikola tilted his head to the side, looking to whatever poor, unfortunate sod had just become tangled in between two kites.

The strings of the kites were twisted and wrapped around the body of a young lady dressed as though she were a gentle creature from the woods. She shifted stiffly as she tried to free herself from the two kites tied to either side of her body, but the threads had tangled themselves around her arms, shawl, and the two antlers that sprouted from her head.

Not far from her were the two children looking for their kites. What a mess this was.

Zoraida had decided to take a short break from work. She found that taking small moments like these to herself was helping her recover and lifted her spirits. Her boyfriend's sudden passing still affected her, but slowly and with each passing day, she found herself happier and more like herself.

Sitting on a bench under an old willow tree in the park, she watched the kites in the sky, smiling to herself every so often as the colourful box kites, delta kites, kites with tails, dipped and soared across the sky to the delight of the children below.

Suddenly, two kites crashed midair as if a strong gust of wind had caught and entangled them, watching as the two kites came hurtling towards the ground, Zora involuntarily flinched as they hit a young woman who was passing by.

Nikola caught a brief movement to his side, as a girl on a nearby bench winced as the kites crashed and (metaphorically, of course) burned. The demigod rose, pacing over to the person who had become quite entangled in the kites and the strings. She looked like you would imagine a young woman druid would look like, complete with antlers.

Quite ironically, she looked like a deer caught in the headlights.

"Hey, you alright there? Lemme see what I can do to get you free." Nikola would say, working to carefully untangle the girl. He would motion to the girl he had spied previously on the bench. "'Scuse me, I don't wanna interrupt your peaceful day at the park, but would you mind giving me a hand here?"

As the demigod worked to unravel the poor girl caught, he would flick his fingers every so often, using carefully pressured bursts of his power to assist the untangling process, doing his utmost to keep it unnoticeable.

"Name's Nikola, by the way. May I ask for yours?"

Zoraida watched curiously as a young man went over to help the girl who had been a victim of the kite debacle, and was a little surprised when he asked her if she could help him untangle the other young girl from the kite strings.

"Sure," Zora said in reply as she got up from the park bench and walked over to where they were. "What can I do to help?" she asked as she quickly gave the young woman a sympathetic look as a way of greeting.

"Oh, ah... I'm Olwen," she replied, still a bit flustered. The attention she was getting over the embarrassing moment made her blush, especially as a pretty woman came over to help too. But the girl managed a grateful smile to the both of them nonetheless.

"Thank you so much," she said politely, shifting here and there in an attempt to make it easier for them.

Zora took hold of a string and started to lift and pull the kite string over Olwen's head while she introduced herself. "I'm Zoraida, Zora to most," she told her with a warm smile as she continued to work at getting her untangled from the kite strings.

"This would so be much easier if we only had a pair of scissors," she said with a tiny frown as she pulled on one string to only have it tighten somewhere else around Olwen's body.

"Yes, though... I'd be sad to have to damage those children's kites," she pointed out. The two young ones were standing several feet away, watching uncomfortably as the adults handled their magnificent toys. Olwen could only smile at them sympathetically as she patiently worked with the two strangers.

"Oh, maybe that loop there. Perhaps pull that up a little?"

Zora didn't say anything and just nodded at Olwen's suggestion. Although, part of her was thinking it'd be easier to just buy the kids new kites - which she could do with two clicks of her phone - and part of her was also reminding her that not everything could (or should) be solved using money.

"Let's see if that works," Zora murmured as she concentrated on pulling the loop Olwen suggested. "Damn it all," she swore very softly and under her breath when the suggestion only resulted in the string tightening around her antlers.

"I am so sorry about that," she told the girl when she had realised what she had done.
