Godfrey Broen

Broen, as he prefers to be called, stands at 5'7" tall with a fairly muscular build. He keeps his dirty blonde hair short and intentionally disheveled and occasionally covering one of his dark blue-green eyes, or alternatively holds his hair back out of his face with a headband. He carries himself with an air of confidence that definitely looks like he's looking down on you.

He has had some changes to his appearance since coming to the island. His face bears heavy damage from an assault he suffered some time ago: his left eyelid droops slightly and the eye itself is slightly clouded over. He is blind in this eye. The left side of his lip bears a scar from where it split open. His nose is slightly crooked, bending somewhat to the right off its normal center.

He dresses like a punk, wearing ripped jeans and hoodies underneath leather jackets. However he is fully capable of cleaning up nicely and looking like a presentable, upstanding member of society.

Broen is the best, the absolute fuckin' best. And as the best, he mainly looks out for himself. Screw all those other guys, he's gotta make sure he gets what he wants out of life. And he'll lie, cheat, and steal if he has to to get it. And if he gets to have fun while doing it? Hell yes.

But strangely that isn't all there is to him, though many who have known him for years will disagree. Broen, above all, values his freedom and the quickest way to get him to do something is to tell him he can't. He hates being tethered and told what he has to be, and will fight and buck against any limitations placed on him one way or the other. He will even contradict himself just to say 'fuck you, I do what I want.'

He loathes the idea that people do anything good for entirely selfless reasons. There's always an angle in his mind. Even if it's just a pat on the back, every supposed good Samaritan is out looking for something in return. He rubs people the wrong way because he's up front about it.

Underneath his snark and anger and cynicism though, Broen has the ability to do truly heroic things.

Active
Metal Manipulation
Broen can detect all metal within 100' of him, even through solid objects. Within 20' of himself he can move metal, but only towards or away from himself. If the metal has less mass than him, it will be moved. If it, or an object it is attached to/held by has more mass than him, Broen will be the one to move. He can only affect metal within his 20' range, but the metal will continue to move under it's own power even if it leaves the radius. It will simply be affected by gravity and inertia at that point. He can exert a great degree of force, but must be careful because that force can easily be reversed on him if he continues pushing on an object with greater mass.

Coldfire
Broen can generate and manipulate blue-white fire from his hands. It acts and spreads like normal fire, except that it burns extremely cold. It can freeze objects at surface level near instantly and cause onset frostbite within a minute of contact with a person's body. He can control the fire up to 20' away from his body and can control it for minute ling bursts before he needs to rest for a minute.

There and Back Again
Broen can seemingly teleport, though it takes longer than an instant for it to happen. This is because he is actually hopping into a pocket dimension, physically walking to the location he wants to reappear at, and then reappearing in the real world. There is a time dilation in the pocket dimension, meaning that every second in the real world translates to roughly one minute in the dimension.

Passive
Mirror Mask
Broen has a helmet, similar to a motorcycle helmet, that blocks his thoughts from being read.

Clean Air
Broen unconsciously filters and changes the chemical composition of the air he breathes. He cannot be affected by airborne poisons or pathogens and can hold his breath indefinitely by constantly converting carbon dioxide in his lungs into oxygen.

Weakness

Godfrey Crawford was born with a silver spoon in his mouth. But that silver spoon came with certain expectations. His father, the retired superhero known as Gallant, the Shining Knight, fully expected his son to follow in his footsteps. When the young Godfrey showed no sign of interest in hero work, his father at first tried to force him, then disowned him when it was obvious that that wouldn't work. On his own barely at the age of sixteen, Godfrey took his mother's maiden name and shunned everything to do with his father.

He did his best to get by, living in homeless shelters when he could and sleeping on the street when he couldn't. That was his first year after being disowned, until he was caught by a Librarian from the Abernathy Academy for Troubled Youths. Truancy was his crime, apparently. But how could they expect him to go to school when he had nothing to his name? But Broen, as he preferred to be called now, knew how to play this bullshit prep school game. He was obedient, at least until he realized just what "going to class" meant. For several weeks he sat in class, unable to move, feeling his goodness being chipped away at. He cracked eventually, but didn't break. Then some teen heroes came and rescued all the kids.

Broen's next year was far better for him. He became a supervillain calling himself Paragon, though most called him more of a mercenary. He would rob a museum or stop a supervillain if the price was right. This made him no end of enemies. But something went wrong, and the world turned upside down. What even was a Gultha? He didn't care. And the whole hero or villain argument? Who gave a fuck. He just knew that if he didn't help, the world was gonna tear in half. And he wasn't going to have that.

So Paragon copied the powers of the most powerful man on the planet. The Alexandrian. God Himself compressed into a mortal body. Broen got about three minutes of that godhood, a taste of it. He killed Zantibayra before he felt it happening. The power rejecting his body. He shed the powers before they could kill him, but not quick enough to not have his power limiters shatter and fill him with shrapnel.

The Boyscout was the first one to get shoved through the portal. Broen would have stayed, but he couldn't absorb powers anymore. So he jumped through with the rest of the kids. Fuck it, right? But man, oh man, did he get a treat. Waking up, staring face to face with his dad. Or someone who looked just like him back in his heyday. Somehow killing him wasn't as satisfying as he had wanted.

He got by for about a month, robbing places until someone noticed he had a knack for ending up on rooftops with no access to them. It wasn't long before the Scouts found him.

Lives in the dorms. Has his school stipend. Has an emergency fund from selling his car.
