"Are we in one now?" Cairo was confused. They hadn't talked about being together, but maybe at this point they had both just assumed that. "Like... Did you want to be my boyfriend Hayden?" He wasn't opposed to the idea, but he would need to get some guidelines down first so that he understood what it meant to date a polyamorous person. "If you want to then..." He gave the man a short squeeze. "Say how you feel."

Hayden opened his eyes and his grin widened. "I was just talking about expressing feelings in general, but... yeah" he said, the smile replaced by sincerity. Yeah, he wouldn't mind that at all. Hayden had problems talking about anything to do with relationships, they didn't have to be physical or permanent to make it hard for the blonde to talk about them. Considering they were impossible before.

"Ignoring all of the stuff I babbled in your hallway, you're amazing and I would like to be your boyfriend Cairo" Hayden said. Although his meanings and well-meant intentions had been a huge-ass mess along the way, he was still sure that he wanted Cairo, as much of himself as he wanted to share with him was more than enough.

"Good." Cairo just held him close, not moving or making any dramatic celebration. He wanted him in his arms just for the fact that he could. He was his now, and that was something that Cairo loved about relationships. "I'm really glad you said yes honey." He moved one of his hands up and ran it through his hair, almost as if he was claiming that too. "We should have a discussion though, on what both of us want for this."

The blonde nodded into Cairo's hair where his head was resting on his chest. "I can do a discussion. What do you want for us, for this?" he asked quietly, thinking about that Cairo had told him about poly relationships. Could both people in the relationship be poly? What were these other people like, would Hayden like them? There were questions he knew Cairo had the answer to, so he waited for him to start talking since he was more knowledgeable about what they were even talking about. He leaned his head against the touch on the side, reveling in the warmth that came from the palm moving there.

"Well um... No stigma about other people I'm dating okay? Or even considering being with that is. I like you a lot, but if you're rude or judgemental... Well that's just not fair." That was probably the biggest line for him. "I am interested in two other men, as well as a female, just so you know." He just wanted everyone to be happy; their relationship would be specious if it came down to anything but that. There would be no foundation if they were to disregard each of their wanted goals for a relationship. Cairo wanted peace, ease and happiness; but did that mean that those wants would be hindered because of Hayden? The last thing that he wanted for them was a horrific disagreement right off the bat. They could work, and they would if they only set up these boundaries.

"With that in mind, I... Well you don't need to be clingy." Clingy people meant difficulty down the line; another foreboding trait that would end this in a heartbeat. "Yes, I want to be around you but you can't expect me to be able to drop everything to hug you or- always be near. This isn't just about my other partners, but I'm also a busy guy. Two jobs, school and a hell ton of people that I want to be around." It wasn't a lot to ask for at all. A nice attitude and space; now it was all up to Hayden to figure out if that suited him.

Since he didn't have any arguments with what Cairo was saying, Hayden simply nodded quietly as he spoke, thinking about what he was saying carefully. All of it made sense and was doable, all of it was fine with him. Boundaries in a relationship were important, and these were no exception. He knew that he had no experience at all working under terms in a relationship considering most people don't count one night stands as relationships. Working to make sure things worked between him and Cairo was a opportunity he was looking forward to. There was nothing in the words that he had any issue with, but there were things that he had questions about.

Now it was time for questions of his own, after he made sure Cairo knew he had no problems with any of the ground rules. "That all makes sense. I can do that" he said softly, nodding once more before lapsing into thoughtful silence. "Do... do your partners know one anther? Do they have other relationships?" he asked, wondering.

"Good, I'm really glad that it's all okay with you." At least he knew that this wasn't going to end in flames, for now. Cairo couldn't help it but give Hayden a pause for his question before he chortled. It was cute really, how naive the affluent man was. Extremely cute. Like some robot that hadn't been programmed yet. To be fair, it wasn't an extremely popular topic, so he went easy on him. He trailed his hand on his shoulder before he answered. "Ah, well a few of them are quite popular. But once I want to date someone yeah, I keep them informed that I have other lovers and interests. That's just being respectful. Well my babe Darcy is also poly, then I've had a few one night stands that are the same too."

Hayden flushed and rolled his eyes at Cairo's laughter. Well, it wasn't his fault no one told him about this shit! He had a bashful moment when the other boy was explaining, thinking about how little he really knew. But it was okay, because it was all going to be explained to him and he trusted Cairo to tell him everything that was important about it.

"So it would be... fine if I dated other people too, if I let you know first? Are you going to tell your other partners about me?" he asked, trying to appear more serious and mature than he felt because damn, did he feel like a total virgin right now having to ask all of these questions. It had to be sorted out though, then they could function.

"Are you poly too?" How could he be? It took time to figure that out, didn't it? It wasn't until he got to the island, that Cairo figured out that he wanted to be with more than one person romantically at a time. No, this wasn't just for sex, this was because he wanted to have too, healthy relationships with people. "I think you need to calm down, Hayden. Think that over. It's a big commitment." Cairo got up, a bit offended.

"How do you know I haven't always felt that way, and didn't have a word for it?" Hayden shot back defensively, cagey when he saw Cairo's reaction. He was allowed to feel that way too he thought crossly, setting his jaw and sitting up on the couch. Hayden was very unused to dealing with feelings, and arguments were one of them. When he did get mad, he went off and got drunk to forget it. He never saw that person again, since he was in another state by the time he cooled down. "Why is it so damn hard to believe I can want the same as you?" he added, narrowing his bright blue eyes, which burned when he was passionate about something like stars.
