Smiling, she opened up her sketchbook and started flicking through the pages, showing Lucas drawings of landscapes around the island and people she had seen, but she kept the pages of what she drew when she was alive, a secret. Looking over them made her heart feel like it was being squeezed. "It's one of the only things I have left from my life. This sketchbook went everywhere with me."

She kind of liked sharing all of her passion expressed through art with someone, but she hoped he didn't notice that some of the pages at the back of the book were also full of illustrations, as well as the ones at the front, from her life.

Lucas smiled as the other ghost started to flick through her sketch book in order to show him her drawing like he had asked. Though he noticed how she skipped over section of the book, he didn't really see what they were and didn't want to pry. He was impressed by the drawing he did see though. "Those are amazing. Are you planning to study art at the academy?" He asked turning his head to look in the direction he knew the school was in, even though it wasn't likely to be able to see if from where the pair were currently.

Looking back to her, he chuckled lightly to himself. "I'm studying forensics myself." He told her, thinking that she would be more willing to talk about if she wasn't going to go to the school, if he opened up about it first. "I always wanted to enter law enforcement, this island sort of amazing. Death sucks but can still try live the dream I guess." His tone became a little lower, as if he had started unconciously saying his mind out loud. Not thinking about how insentive it might have come across. Clearing his head by bring a palm to his face in embarresment and sighing softly.

"Yeah, I'm a fine arts major." The idea of forensics always used to fascinate her. It was once her dream job, but plans change. Amelia was surprised at how optimistic this guy was; well, about afterlife, anyway. She needed a bit more of that optimism, all she really saw from her death was that her whole life had been shattered; she'd never be able to have a conversation with the ones she loved again, never eat or sleep, never grow old with the person she loved and never be able to start what she wanted most out of life - a family. "I guess you're right. I mean, we only have eternity to be miserable, right?"

Lucas would have been shocked if he could hear her thoughts. Thinking him as optimistic would have been a surprise for sure, maybe it was down to the enjoyment and feeling of finally meeting someone like him. Combined with the way he had been trying to act in a more pleasant manner then he normally would.

He didn't know though, so just nodded when she confirmed she was an art major, before asking him about a sad eternity. The words, made it seem like it was rhetorical and he wouldn't have been shocked if it was. However he tried to keep up the positive act, and answered it. "Well, I think there are probably those who could do something for us if eternity becomes too much. Though I suppose I might not have to have to." The ending of his words might have confused her, and against his better judgement he told her about himself, again something done purely because she was also a ghost.

"What I mean is. I'm bound to an object, If it gets destroyed I have no idea what would happen to me. I guess if eternity start to kill me, then maybe non-existence wouldn't be so bad." The explanation probably hit the appearance of optimism she had up to that point. Talking about true non-existence over living, in anyway even like this wasn't such a nice topic.

Amelia didn't like how ominous that sounded. Maybe this guy wasn't as optimistic as she first thought. She listened to him talk about how an object is keeping him in this world, like an anchor. This made her think what was keeping her here. Not everyone that died returned as a ghost so there must be a reason why she is still here. Her sketchbook, maybe? It was one of the only things she had left. Some "unfinished business" like they talk about on TV?

Despite all the things she didn't have in life, she was fairly happy with what she had left: a chance to turn over a new leaf in a new school, new friends and a new boyfriend. She decided to let these thoughts pass. "So, why were you out here on your own?"

Lucas scrathed the back of his at the question. He hadn't really been doing anything. Just walking around aimlessly as he didn't really have anything else to do. It wasn't like he could find anywhere to practise with his colt, nor did he really enjoy much else. It was only his desire to avoid non-existence and his dream of one day helping people and catching those who wanted to do others harm.

"Nothing much really." He anwsered, looking up at the sky as the snow drifted down through then. "Just walking around, in truth being bored out my mind. I suppose I could be studying but wasn't particularly in the mood." He explained further bringing his head back down to look at her. "Forensic science isn't as enjoyable as I suppose art is to study." He smiled weakly, starting to feel stupid.

"Well, studying art is not so fun either. Sure, I like actually creating art, but researching artists and how things make you feel is ... boring." She, too, was there out of boredom. It was where she always went when she had free time; to be alone and emursed in her artwork. Amelia was about to offer to do something fun, but she had no idea what this guy classed as fun, and by the sound of it, neither did he. "If you don't mind me asking: How long have you been ... like this?"

Lucas was suprised to hear that studing art wasn't fun, but the research aspect had been one he hadn't thought of until she mentioned it. He was one of those people who didn't know much about art, but knew what he liked. A clichè but true it was. "I guess that make sense." Lucas replied to her art comments not knowing what else to really say, only to be taken off guard by the following question.

Lucas sighed as he let himself float downwards as he folded his legs. Hovering just above the ground still, but ending up sitting as he did. "6 years give or take." He anwsered, sighing again at the realization he had over those years lost track of the days. It wasn't like he knew todays date, but he could have figured if out a little more accurately if he did. He didn't ask the question back though, instead looking up at her. Figuring that if she wanted to share herself that she would do so.

"It's been five years for me." She decided to just tell him; she couldn't just ignore that part of her life. Though, she left it at that. Going into the details would only bring down her mood. Moving her bag closer to her, she placed her sketchbook inside and zipped the bag up. "Do you know one of the things I miss most? Food. I loved food!"

Lucas notice the fact she didn't want to go into more detail about her death. Something that Lucas could agree with whole heartedly. Not only because it was a personal thing, but highly embarressing to say he managed to accidently put a bullet through his face.

Her following words though made it some what obvious to him that while they were both spirits that had got stuck in the world after their deaths, they were not exactly the same. While Lucas could become physical somewhat and eat occasional, even if the after effects were unpleasent, she couldn't. He wasn't sure how to respond. He didn't want to lie to her, nor did he want to taunt her with the fact he could eat if he wanted to. Instead he simply took her tangent and went with it.

"I miss my friends and family, if I went to them like this I would probably just cause more pain then not." Lucas said somberly. He wasn't the biggest people person in life, but it was only after you lost something that you realised how important it was.
