Nightmares have been keeping Adelene up recently, made her sleepless and stressed. She'd still go to work, but her boss Kranz insisted she'd rest today, get the sleep she needed, or just take some time off from stress and instead do something that can help calm her down.

"Ya know, lass, when I was a kid, there's this library 'round here that's got lotsa books. By the outskirts, near the forest. I know there's a library in yer school but why don't you try looking for that one? It's closed down, but I heard the books are still in there," Kranz suggested. Adelene's been around long enough to have seen old and closed down buildings, and reading in a place where she can be alone sounded so inviting that she didn't even hesitate to take that suggestion.

So she left the shop and looked for it.

Walking around downtown already helped a lot for her to stop overthinking. About Leon, about Lochlann, about her meds and her past, about school. She's gone where Kranz told her to go, to the outskirts near the forest. She's been there before, on her way to trainings, so she knew or at least felt that she was going to find something. Eventually finding the rundown library made it all better. It was old and faded, and the only hint of it being the right place was the word "Library" that was the only still-legible part of the sign. And Adelene didn't waste a moment to attempt coming inside.

She went in through a weird entrance at the back; she wasn't sure if it was really an entrance, but oh well, it did the job. The inside was a lot darker than she expected, but there was just enough light for her to see the shelves and the books. Enough light to see that it was left alone dusty, and there were even scribbles on walls that she didn't understand. The place felt sad and empty. There were black spots here and there, some slightly burnt materials, enough clue that there's been a fire in the past.

She'd carefully walk to the dusty books, scanning and caressing their spines before getting a random one. She handled it with care, as the book felt like it was crumbling down in her hands. She's been really quiet, but the dust created clouds for being disturbed from their rest. She sneezed. Quite confident that she was alone in this closed-down library, Adelene continued with scanning the book, and then she'd put it back and look through the other books on that shelf.
