Laetus shrugged. "I should be fine in this." He said, pulling his shirt off as he stood.

Maddie's mouth fell agape as he pulled his shirt over his head. Her cheeks flamed, and suddenly she looked away.

"Eh, hehe."

She laid the wetsuit down and walked to the kitchen. She rummaged around a bit, uttering incoherent things to herself. She sounded like she was giving herself a pep talk.

"Um..." He stood there, confused for a few moments before following her. "Uh... You ok, Cherry-chan? ... Nervous? Like I said, we could just stay here if you want..."

"I-I'm just trying to change into, like an otter or something."

She dared a glance over her shoulder, really hoping he had something over his bare chest, otherwise her face would be all red.

It was rude to stare, but Maddie really couldn't help it. He was sort of distracting.

Nope. No real reason he would have put something back on.
"Trying?" He asked, coming up behind her. "Is something wrong? ...Did you get sick from earlier?" He asked, bringing his hand to her forehead." You... Feel a bit warm. Maybe we shouldn't..."

Maddie had hoped he would keep some distance between them, but nope.

"No, I'm fine it's just —" she stared at his chest, then tried to look anywhere but at him.

His hand was nice on her forehead, but she only felt hot because of that damn blush of hers.

"It can just take me a little to shift, is all. Especially...with..aquatic...animals." It was like she was saying that last part in slow motion because she knew it was a bad idea even as the first word left her mouth.

Though its not what she was looking for, she would see the ring and the metal chain it hung from... Didn't metal burn fairies? Maybe that was just another human misconception.
"Oh..." He moved his hand away and sat on the counter behind him. "Maybe... We should just not... We could surf normal waves once spring or summer comes around. We don't have to catch this one."

Maddie had heard iron — sometimes called cold iron — burned the fae. Sometimes she heard it was all metal, and other times she had even heard holy ground was painful to them.

Maddie was about to fight more with him when the ring caught some ambient light and her attention was drawn to it. For some reason, it intrigued.

She reached forward, the tips of her fingers brushing along his warm skin, as she took hold of the ring and leaned in to inspect it.

((Are we... Doing a lord of the rings thing here? XD))

Well that was... unexpected. "Um... Cherry-chan?" He asked confused. He had no problem with this, but it was out of nowhere.

((My preccccious))

"Why are you wearing a ring?" she asked. "What is it made out of?"

Was it a family ring? Why was he still keeping it on? Also, at least now they weren't talking about her.
