"Not really. If I ever felt like it, I guess I could visit..." He shook his head. "It wasn't as fun as it sounds though. I always felt trapped. It... Honestly drove me crazy. The idea I'd be confined to that place forever. That I'd never see the world..."

"You don't like staying in one lace too long, huh?"

Laetus shrugged. "I mean, its not like I'm gonna pick up and move every other week... I need my freedom. The ability to come and go as I please, and noone can tell me otherwise..." He stopped for a moment, then smiled at her. "Wanna make some stops along the way to New York? There are a lot of places I'd love to see in this world."

Maddie had nearly forgotten about New York. She smiled and nodded. "I'll stop anywhere you want to go. Your portals are really convenient!"

Maddie is quiet. She fumbled with her hands, then Bandit's ears. He snorted at her, turning his head.

Laetus kissed her cheek. "Great. We're gonna see the world together!" He announced happily.
Outside, the storm had worsened; winds had picked up, the rain had gotten heavier, and there was the occasional thunder clap.

Maddie was about to say something when thunder rumbled. She jumped and snuggled closer to Laetus. Bandit just seemed annoyed. She jumped off Laetus' lap and went to the kitchen to lay down instead.

Pesky humans.

With Bandit down, Laetus was free to bring both arms around her. "Don't worry." He told her softly, holding her close. "Everything's gonna be ok."
The tv was starting to lose its connection, breaks and static garbling the show.

Maddie crawled onto Lae's lap. She seemed calmer in his arms, but the static on the screen was kind of reminding her of a horror movie, or something.

"Why are you not afraid?" She sounded a little frustrated. Maddie hated that she must have seemed like a wimp, but tsunami's, hurricanes, and tornados were some scary shit.

Laetus shrugged. "I guess... I've lived here long enough. I've been through these storms before, and everything's ok. People have been here way longer than me and they're ok, so it cant be as bad as it sounds, right?"

"H-Hey, Kiwi," She hid her face against him, her words muffled as a result. "I'll do the surfing thing wi-with you."
