Surrendering to the dog, Laetus portaled his cup back onto the table, laying one hand on Bandit, and putting the other around Maddie.
"Fairy stories?" He questioned. To him, such stories could mean anything from getting up in the morning and trying to find his socks, to the time he and his friends found a gryphon in their forest... What did humans find interesting and magical? That was probably what she wanted, right?
"Um... Oh! So... I was a little thief as a kid. Being trapped in the forest, it was all I could do to get glimpses of the outside. Occasionally, I'd find these really cool books with lots of pictures. One of them, I think it was the same series my mask is from..." He wasn't still wearing it. When did he take it off? Did it end up muddy too? The world may never know.
"It was a story about a little boy that traveled time using this really cool looking sword. Well, he had this fairy friend who was depicted as a little sprite who would help guide him. So, next time a lost wanderer came around, I turned into a little sprite, complete with glow, and started guiding him around the forest. But the fairy would never stop stating the obvious, so I told him things like 'Don't trip on that rock' or say 'Don't wake the gryphon.' loud enough to wake them until he ran away from me." Laetus laughed. "At least he was running in the right direction.
