Laetus moved his arms around her and picked her up. As he did, one could hear the squishy sounds of muddy soaked clothes. A portal opened behind him and he walked through, bringing them back to his home, dripping onto his kitchen floor. He would kiss her forehead before putting her down in a chair and reaching through a portal, getting them a few towels and holding them out to her for her to pick her favorites.

Maddie quickly grabbed one of the towels and draped it over her shoulders rather than beginning to dry herself off.

"Best picnic ever!"

Laetus laughed, drying his hair with a towel. "The picnic part of the picnic didn't last long though."
Seeing she wasn't doing it, he would drape a towel over her head and start drying her hair for her.

"Hey! I like my hair wet," Maddie protested, throwing her hands around in a pitiful attempt to stop him.

"This isn't play hour, boy! I will...I will make you pay!"

Laetus didn't stop till her head was dry. "You'll definitely get sick if you stay like this, Cherry-chan."
He tilted his head at her seemingly random outburst, but rubbed her cheeks with the towel before turning around, headed in the direction of his room. "Pay for what?" He asked as he walked, moving into his room. She would hear some shuffling and drawers opening and closing. He would soon return wearing a simple pair of black shorts and a white shirt that matched the hoodie she was wearing... minus the mud ofcorse. He was also carrying another hoodie, this one purple with a ghost like creature with large eyes and a big grin printed on the back.

"For, um, I don't know." She frowned.

When he had come back, and she saw the new hoodie, she said, "that looks spooky! Get it? Because it's a ghost!"

She laughed at her joke before jumping up and taking the hoodie. She didn't put it on her move around him to go to his room, instead she blushed and avoided eye contact.

"Do you have another pair of shorts or something?"

"Oh, right." He mumbled, embarrassed he would forget something so obvious. He turned right back around and back to his room. He came back soon after with another pair of black shorts. As with his hoodie, these would be a bit big for her.

Maddie smiled and stood on her toes to give his cheek a quick peck before running into his bedroom to change.

When she came out, she was giving the shorts an irate look as she tried to keep them up on her hips. They weren't falling bad enough that she thought they might end up at her feet if she just stood, but she had the feeling if she moved too much, they would get there.

When Maddie looked up at him, her face reddened. "So...what should we do now? I'm still kinda cold..."

"Well..." Laetus reached through a portal at his side and came back with the blanket off his bed. He wrapped it around her and then picked her up.
"Feel like chilling in front of the tv?" He asked, smiling. "We could finish off the food we made."

"Yeah! Can I...stay in your lap?"

She tried not to wiggle in his arms, nervous that he might drop her if she did, or worse, that her loose clothing may become too loose.

"And you didn't call it the magic box this time!"
