Injury certainly made more sense. Although, generally the doctor suspected he would not taste something like that. Perhaps the angel was close to death from whatever had wounded him. William's curiousity had been satisfied, though, so he did not press further.
Besides, the angel being a librarian was a much more interesting subject. And Maria had apparently got bored with flooding him with fear because she had realized he was going to talk to the angel anyway, so now he wasn't being distracted by having to control his emotions.
"I am afraid I cannot help you with a cure. I have no experience with the supernatural - medically speaking. But you are right about this island. I was not seeking a cure for my own ... issue when I came here, but I may end up finding one, if the place does not drive me mad first. I have been doing what research I could.
