Injury certainly made more sense. Although, generally the doctor suspected he would not taste something like that. Perhaps the angel was close to death from whatever had wounded him. William's curiousity had been satisfied, though, so he did not press further.

Besides, the angel being a librarian was a much more interesting subject. And Maria had apparently got bored with flooding him with fear because she had realized he was going to talk to the angel anyway, so now he wasn't being distracted by having to control his emotions.

"I am afraid I cannot help you with a cure. I have no experience with the supernatural - medically speaking. But you are right about this island. I was not seeking a cure for my own ... issue when I came here, but I may end up finding one, if the place does not drive me mad first. I have been doing what research I could. Is the library available to those who aren't students?"

The angel pursed his lips. Considering that there really weren't any other libraries (to Isra's knowledge) it would only make sense for the Academy Library to also be public. However, that could also pose a threat to the security and safety of the students. He would like to help this man, but they'd only just met, and as a teacher Isra held his students' safety as priority. "I'm actually not sure about that, Doctor. To be safe, I think you should inquire at the front office instead."

Isra felt his phone buzz, and so he pulled it out to check the notification. Smiling, the angel clicked to download. "Your issue?" the angel asked offhandedly, still focused on his phone. He knew it was rude, but this really needed to be done. "What is it that ails you?"

There actually was a public library on Manta Carlos, as well as the numerous museums, but William was curious about the academy's library. The museums were interesting for the history, and he had definitely learned more about the island and its inhabitants just from the reading he had already done. But he needed something more to deal with Maria, he suspected.

William had already been through school four times and would much prefer to learn on his own. He wasn't sure he actually wanted to take classes at the college, although he might take a couple just to gain access to the library if it wasn't open to the public. He nodded politely at the angel's answer. "Indeed. That is fair. I suppose I shall let you know after I ask. If I am able to enter the library."

The wraith frowned a little when the angel pulled out his phone. But it was more because he really did not like mobile phones than because of the rudeness. He hesitated saying anything about his issue. He absolutely did not like to talk about the demon and admitting to an angel that he was possessed seemed like a very bad idea. The fear was back and strong - he might have stumbled over his words a bit. "It's ah personal... It's really nothing - no matter."

Isra stared at William out of the corner of his eye. Though nearly imperceptible, the angel's blue gaze had sharpened. He tucked the phone back into his pocket, the task now complete.

"Personal? Forgive me, then, if this is too prying." Isra rolled his shoulders and stepped back, so he was directly facing the doctor. "If your issue really is of no concern, then why ask?" he continued lightly, the tone betraying the words spoken. (Isra inwardly winced. He could have worded that better.) "I highly doubt that any ailment of lesser status would require as much research you're apparently putting in. The hospitals here are good, and from what I can understand, have treatments covering a very wide range of...issues."

A background cheer from the crowd seemed to bring the angel back (or clear his head). Isra Felle blinked, and sighed, and ran a hand through his dark hair. "Forgive me. Today is a day of celebration, is it not? I apologize." He plucked up another flute of champagne and offered it to William with a sheepish smile. "I believe you've yet to try this delicious champagne. Please, ignore what I said. We should relax, and enjoy the banquet."

"The issue is not one the hospitals could solve, I'm afraid. And the research I was referring to was my research on this island - its inhabitants. I am a doctor. I've only studied humans so far. If I happen to find a solution for my issue during my research that would be beneficial, but I wish to keep my secrets." He was tense now, agitated. Maria saying I told you so in his head.

But the angel apologized, and William was not one to hold grudges. "Apology accepted. I should not have brought it up myself if I did not wish to be questioned." He held up a gloved hand declining the champagne politely. "I do not drink, Professor."

Isra blinked, shrugged, and sipped the champagne instead. His loss. "It was nice to meet you, Doctor," the teacher said cheerily, despite the earlier aggression. William was a little different, but it was surprisingly pleasant to meet. It was enjoyable – and interesting. "I hope to run into you again soon. Maybe then we can hit the books together, huh?"

With a casual wave of the glass, the angel began to move back into the crowds. "Feel free to visit the library any time if you get permission! I could always use a helping hand sorting the books."

Turning his back to William, Isra smiled and swirled the golden liquid. Definitely interesting.

William found the angel interesting himself. To be fair, he generally enjoyed meeting people Maria didn't like - maybe a bit of stubbornness on his part or the realization that people the demoness didn't like might be good for him to know. The man was certainly a puzzle - a dying angel who had gotten just a little annoyed at him for some reason he couldn't fathom. "A pleasure to meet you too... I may just take you up on your offer"

He would definitely be sure to make contact with this Professor Felle if he did gain access to the school's library. He would make a point of it, and if it happened to slip out that he was possessed then - so be it, he supposed. After all, he was looking for a way to control her somehow, to fight her off.

The wraith watched the angel a moment more, then slipped into the crowd himself, pensive.
