"Wake up! Time to eat!"

The harsh, mocking voice of a woman accompanied the incessant banging that startled you awake. Your eyes opened to too bright halogen light, on a bed too hard to be considered comfortable. In clothes that reminded you of a hospital gown, with a steel bracelet locked onto your wrist. Your throat was dry and your stomach felt like it was practically turning in on itself. When was the last time you had eaten or drank anything? Your powers, whatever they might have been, simply did not work. If you tried, the bracelet felt as though it was vibrating lightly.

Your immediate vicinity was out of some kind b-grade horror film. You were underground, from the roughly hewn stone walls. And you were in a cage, of sorts. Four glass walls framed in metal rose up around you to the stone ceiling, forming a box. There was a small metal slot on one of the walls, just big enough to slide small objects through but nothing else. And no doors that you could obviously see. There was your hard bed, bolted to the floor. And a small flush toilet/sink combination in the corner.

Yours was not the only cage, however. As many as twenty or thirty other identical cages lined the massive cave. Most of them were filled with similarly disoriented people. A woman stalked between the cages, sliding covered food trays from a cart through the slots in the cage walls.

"Eat up, assholes. Some of you have got a long day ahead of you."

Britta was one of the first to start regaining consciousness. First was the loud noise, then the flood of harsh light as she opened her eyes. She began massaging the beginning of a headache at her temples as she slowly sat up with a groan. It took a moment before she started to gain her bearings and look around. Unfamiliar surroundings, unfamiliar clothes, unfamiliar voice…

“What is this…?”

Neither Britta’s professional camera, nor her polaroid camera containing her changling powers were around her neck. She practically felt naked without them. On top of that, the…hospital gown? Or whatever it was that she was wearing had short sleeves, exposing the massive scars on her arms that she typically kept hidden. She might as well have been entirely naked, for how exposed she felt at that moment.

Britta slipped from the…’bed,’ which surely looked like an operating table more than anything to her. That was when she noticed the skin irritation on the back of her arms and legs—the table must have been made partially with iron. More importantly, however, was the glass walls that surrounded her.

“What is this?!” She repeated, louder this time, as she tried banging her firsts against one of the walls. Of course, they were far stronger than her fists could possibly break. Not a surprise.

And what was this damn thing on her wrist? She tried giving it a hard tug, although she did not expect it to slide off.

"Fuck....fuck!" the Fae snarled under her breath.

Ever woke up with all your senses feeling out of whack because you are just disoriented as shit? Well it sucks, really really bad. It sucked more because Nico was immediately woken from what would be the equivalent of beauty sleep time because of some loud voice. “Uh….” He groaned as he sat up from the brick that is what they call a bed here.

The dread was setting in, the type of bad feeling that he felt in his gut. Why he was getting this feeling? Well let's start with this extremely no good blinding bright light. Next he was in some strange glass cell in some weird place. Finally he was in a stupid hospital gown.

“Wait…Where..” It took him a few moments to realize he wasn't seeing things and this was in fact all very real. Nico then stumbled off the bed and went to the glass wall that he was facing and just immediately started pounding on the glass.

“Hey…..HEY HELLO?”

Havoc probably should have been panicked. He'd been kidnapped, after all, and the situation could be described as grim only in the most charitable of terms.

But Havoc was not the sort of person who panicked, even when he was literally dying, and he greeted his return to conciousness with little more than a bat of his eye. He took a few moments to assess his physical situation--hungry, thirsty, and with a desperate need to pee--and then sat up to take stock of the room.

Havoc's cell was three cells down from the wall, although he doubted there was much significance to that fact. He estimated thirty cells, but the glass wall made it hard to guess how far down things went, and even as he observed people were starting to stir, waking up as they did. Some didn't--some remained still, silent forms still lying on their cots, and it wasn't clear if they were ever going to wake up at all.

Havoc glanced down at the bracelet on his wrist, but it didn't take much thought to figure out what it was. They were on Manta Carlos--or at least were originally from Manta Carlos--and capturing any number of residents would require access to power-nullifying bracelets to prevent their escape. Havoc alone could have escaped easily with his powers, and he had no doubt that any number of other captives could have has well. A quick test--a fireball--resulted in nothing, confirming his theory.

People were starting to yell--audible primarily through the slots, although at least partially through the glass--and Havoc stepped over to the slot, bending down to peer through it before straightening up again. Captives. But they were being fed, which was at least a good sign. The hospital gowns hinted towards experiments--forced organ 'donation' wouldn't have need of a hospital gown--but of the more long term variety.

Despite his initial urge to tell everyone to just calm down, Havoc simply decided it was probably better to ride things out. Most people likely wouldn't be able to hear him, and panic was entirely normal in the situation anyway.

The woman seemed to grimace at the sound of everyone waking up and complaining. As if they should be happy enough that they were alive and not severely injured. She left the cart of food trays alone down one of the aisles of cages and made her way over to where Nico was banging on the glass.

She slammed her hand against the glass, placing her palm firmly against the wall. Spikes and blades of twisted metal began to protrude through her forearm, ripping her sleeve but apparently causing her no discomfort. "Shut the fuck UP! You haven't even been awake ten minutes and I'm already tired of your voices."

"Jean. Do not antagonize the patients. Finish your work and return to your station."
The voice that rang out throughout the room over unseen speakers was clearly run through a synthesizer. There was no way of telling the age or gender or anything of the speaker.

Jean pulled her hand away from the wall and sneered at Nico before stalking back to her cart. She offered a smirk to Britta as she passed by, dropping a tray of food through the slot in her cage.

Klef woke up having not a single clue where she was, nor why she was there which was not too unusual these days. What was out of the ordinary was her killer migraine and being woken up by banging that clearly was not her roommate.

" Alrighty one sec..." Klef mumbled drowsily, feeling like absolutely shit. She dug her hand into her stomach expecting there to be some gum or Advil in her pocket. After patting around for a few moments, she realized there was only a flimsy barrier between her and the outside forces. It irked her that she was a millimeter away from being naked and even moreso that her beloved hoodie had been take. Even though she loathed being this exposed, something was telling her her personal insecurities were going to be the least of her worries, she obviously wasn't in her dormitory anymore.

Klef could hear the cries of equally confused people, but her throat was too sore to join in. Instead she tried to find the tray she heard being slid under, bumping into a comically small toilet and a wall, putting her under the impression she some in kind a prison.

" What's the meaning of all this?

In spite of the banging, yelling, and various noises that woke them up, the first thing LuLu noticed, before they had even opened their eyes, was that they sensed absolutely no other minds in their general vicinity. This puzzled them a little, as they were fairly certain that someone yelling had been part of what had woken them up, but they believed that it must have been a recording of some sort. Then the eldritch opened their eyes, which reflexively moved down to the lower half of their body at the bright light.

Once their eyes had adjusted, LuLu became even more confused. They could clearly see others both inside and outside the glass cages, and the eldritch thought that it was highly unlikely they were all non-sentient robots. The realization that they were also in a glass cage did not really perturb the love eldritch. Nor did the fact that someone had dressed them in odd clothes and a bracelet they couldn't seem to remove, although they didn't really wear clothes in their natural form.

Now that they were fully awake, they first decided to examine this strange bracelet, which should have just slid off their tentacle. Naturally the love eldritch drew on their many years of second-hand experience, and that was when they noticed that they were alone. Not only could they not sense any minds around them, they couldn't sense any of their bonded or other splinters - they were cut off from the rest of the hive.

Somewhere in the 1000's of years of love eldritch experience in this dimension, if not in their total millenniums of years of experience, other splinters had probably gone through something similar to this. But it took time and a level head to search through that much accumulated experience, and LuLu was just a baby splinter, comparatively, who had just been cut off from anyone who could help him sort through it.

Acting on the simple, nearly instinctual thought that they had to reconnect to the rest of their minds, LuLu gave a high-pitched, terrified scream and started to clamber into the toilet, hoping they'd be able to escape down the drain.

Abigale awoke slowly in her new surroundings. Her eyes fluttered gently as the sedatives began to wear off. She was aware of them, their effects. She had been sedated many times before, so this was not so concerning. What did worry her was how and when this had happened.

She sat up on the cold steel bed she had been provided. She was still a little groggy and struggled to recall her last memories. She had been jogging, making great time at that, and then, here. There had been nothing unusual or abnormal. No pin pricks, no chloroform, no noxious odors, nothing that confirmed the method of drugging. She suspected some sort of airborne delivery method but would need to ask a few questions to confirm.

Looking around her glass box confirmed a few things. For starters, she was a captive, though that was obvious. Secondly that she was to be observed. So whoever was responsible for this did not wish for her immediate death. And third, with everyone else that was caged up, this was clearly some sort of clinical trial. It was one thing to experiment on one person, but to know actual results, and make any breakthrough many people were needed.

On the floor, in front of a small steel latch sat a tray of what she assumed to be food. Abi slipped off her bed, her bare feet hitting the cold floor, and walked over to the tray. She knelt down in front of it and removed the lid only to discover a pouch of water, a piece of bread, and a gray bar of what she assumed to be nutrients.

She sighed to herself as she sighed and sat down on the floor, making sure the edge of her gown kept her covered properly. With her small size,m the gown was a dress to her. "Jesus... This is gonna be my entire day, isn't it?" She asked out loud to no one in particular, before taking a bite of the nutrient bar and leaning back against the cage wall. There was just no point in freaking out till she had more information. AS she chewed her thoughts drifted to Saeta. If whoever did this had done something to her... There would be nowhere they could hide that she wouldn't find them.

Amber was only just coming to as she awoke in her cell. Amber initially thought that she was in her room back in the manor but it became quickly apparent that she was not in her old room. Disoriented, Amber pulled herself off the bed, feeling something heavy on her wrist. Amber inspected the cumbersome piece of "jewelry". Her gaze shifted to her her the garbs that did not match any of her pajamas that she would wear. It was then she realized that she was being held captive.

"Huh? Where... w-where am I... is... i-is this a b-b-bad dream?!"

Amber then touched her face and squeezed her cheeks... it felt all to real. This was no dream, this was a nightmare!

"M-mom!" cried out the little spider girl loudly but there was no reassuring response from either of her moms as she had hoped.

"Moooommmm! Mom!?! MOOMMM!" screamed Amber at the top of her lungs

Amber was was in full panic mode at this moment, pounding her arms weakly along the walls despite knowing how useless her actions where.

"W-where are m-mmy moms! W-where ARE M-MY MOOMMS! I w-wunt mai ma-ma-moms!" cried out Amber, resting her forehead on a wall as she sobbed.

The high pitched scream of the octopus creature known as LuLu echoed throughout the chamber, awakening anyone who had not yet stirred from their sleep.
The voice over the speakers droned out again.

"Anthony, patient 12-B is in extreme distress. Please sedate."

In their cage, LuLu would feel a tingling throughout their skin not unlike static electricity flowing through their body.
Within the same second, a man in a lab coat over jeans and a t-shirt appeared in the glass box, holding a cloth in his gloved hand.

"Come here. Stop panicking."
His voice was oddly soothing, calm and reassuring. He moved toward LuLu, attempting to press the cloth to any section of exposed skin on their body.
LuLu would find themselves becoming drowsy and sluggish after only seconds of contact with the cloth.

Once LuLu was safely pulled from the toilet, Anthony would vanish again, leaving that same feeling of static behind.

The voice over the intercom chimed in again.

"Patients 11-B, 9-A, 4-A, and 17-B. Finish eating quickly, your tests will begin shortly."
Klef and Nico would hear a small dinging sound, like a bell ringing once within their cages. Elsewhere, two other cages would make similar sounds, though no one outside of the cages would really hear them.
