"Not as nice as yours!"

Allen let out a rather high-pitched yelp when the vine wrapped around his ankle and pulled him up. He squirmed around for a few moments and glared at the fine, then looked at Enelya. "Ha ha, very funny," he said sarcastically. "It isn't MY fault you were cute with your face all red and I couldn't stop myself from making a joke!"

He still had a few of his Tin-Man qualities, like that joke from before. Even so, it couldn't have been helped. He had spent a lot of time like that, and besides, she really was cute when she was embarrassed. Was it so bad to tease her about it?

His face was blank when she didn't respond to him. His stomach twisted in a knot, both from hanging upside down and from her lack of response. Allen looked at her, hoping he hadn't said the wrong thing. Hadn't she been embarrassed about kissing him? He hadn't minded it... so what was the problem? "Enelya..." he started in a quiet, hesitant voice, "what's with the silence? I didn't mind that you kissed me... wasn't that the problem?"

The immortal had obviously forgotten pretty much all he had known about women and their logic. Rule number one: kisses were never just kisses.

"It isn't MY fault you were cute with your face all red and I couldn't stop myself from making a joke!"

Like that was helping any! Her face continued to flush, and she shook her head and glared at him playfully. It was all in good fun... Sort of. She had to find some way to get back at him after all. Especially after his stupid response to try and make her feel better. Stupid Tin Man! Well, then she realized that was probably why he was saying the wrong thing...

"what's with the silence? I didn't mind that you kissed me... wasn't that the problem?"

Enelya motioned her arms which allowed the two to slowly be let down to the ground. She thanked the branches in her willowy tree speech and looked over at Allen. "You need to rest. Go lie back down now. I'm fine." She smoothed out her hair, finding twigs in it again. Sighing, she knew it wasn't going to be long until there were twigs again. She went to the door of the house, and motioned for him to follow.

"You need to rest. Go lie back down now. I'm fine."

Allen's features softened and his shoulders heaved with a sigh as he looked down. Oh, no, he wasn't going to be gotten rid of so easily. Still she refused to answer his questions... really, what was the big deal? He just wanted to know what was wrong... she was the only friend he had.

The immortal shook his head, though, and walked toward the door that led back into the Oros Sisters House. "Is it really so hard to answer a question?" he asked her. "Or is it just an easier way out to ignore it and bottle everything up?" He knew the answer to that. It really was easier to ignore everything and bottle emotions and answers up. It was part of his 'How to Make a Tin Man' recipe.

He really doubted she was fine. But if she didn't want to talk about it, then whatever. He couldn't force her, and he knew that — but he couldn't help but look a little bit upset at her secrecy. Shrugged his shoulders, Allen opened the door and stepped inside, attempting to hide his own emotions and trying to look cheerful. "Anyway, thanks for helping," he said, offering a smile. "And sorry to make you worry." He looked at the twigs in her hair and laughed softly before he walked back to the bed, laying down.

"Is it really so hard to answer a question?"

Yes, it was.

"Or is it just an easier way out to ignore it and bottle everything up?"

Enelya smiled, and shrugged. "I guess you and I aren't that different then, huh?" She bit her lip, and pulled a twig out of her hair, playing with it for a moment before tossing it to the side. They both bottled their feelings, but expressed themselves differently. Enelya, positively, while Allen, negatively.

She watched Allen return to the bed, and she could see past the mask of happiness. She didn't like seeing him like this, but what was she supposed to say? I took advantage of the moment, emotions overpowering me, and I'm sorry. No way buster, ain't happening.

He was laughing and such, and Enelya figured they should just forget any of this ever happened. They were just friends. Enelya, you're just being lonely, you need to stop this, she told herself.

Enelya took a deep breath, and pushed everything she felt for Allen besides friendship away. She would never kiss him again, or hug him without a strictly friend feeling behind it. Just because they were friends doesn't mean they would be more. Stupid Enelya, get your act together. Though... She couldn't ignore what the Ocean had told her...

Your fates are intertwined.

What did that mean?

"I guess you and I aren't that different then, huh?"

Allen smirked. They were a bit different, though when it came to some things... they were just alike. He nodded with a smile. "It would seem so," the immortal said. "But a lot of people bottle up their emotions." So, he was a bit reluctant to admit that they really weren't so different. It was just a Tin Man thing.

There was silence after though. It was slightly awkward, so for the time being, Allen closed his eyes, resting. He wondered what would have happened if he hadn't decided to carry Enelya back to the school.

They probably wouldn't have been the friends they were now — that was certain. And he probably wouldn't have left the poison valley to get treatment... he would have been stubborn and gone on his way, even though that wouldn't have been the healthiest choice.

But what could he say? He was a stubborn Tin Man.

He finally opened his eyes and looked at Enelya, not liking the silence. Time for something random. "So, Enelya, do you like ponies? They're cute and they go neigh." Allen smiled, hoping it was a good enough change of subject. Some things about having been a knight just wouldn't change...

Enelya listened to him speak, and a small smile graced her lips. It was funny... How radically different they appeared, when they were really just the same. Abandonded by loved ones, and big bottles of emotions. She shut the door softly, and went to the kitchen area of the house, and thought of something to make Allen. He must be hungry.

Lemonmint soup sounded wonderful for hurt lungs. The mint would take away the sour, and leave the sweetness of the lemon, and it would taste wonderful. She grinned, and moved quickly through the kitchen. She slammed her hands down on the counterop, which caused mint, lemongrass, lemons, and basil to sprout. She poored some water into a pot, and started making it bowl, tossing the herbs in to get the wonderful taste while she chopped the actual lemon.

"So, Enelya, do you like ponies? They're cute and they go neigh."

Enelya looked over at Allen with a raised eyebrows. Did... He really just say that? Enelya burst into laughter, and nodded her head excitedly. "Yes, ponies are quite adorable! Especially with their cute little stubby legs. They are very thoughtful sweethearts too." Enelya giggled, and returned to the kitchen, a lemony mint smell wafted through the house, and Enelya grinned.

She remembered a particular pony who would always bring Enelya a sunflower, each time she saw him. Sometimes Enelya thought the poor pony was lonely and needed a friend, but really, he just liked giving away flowers. He was a cute kid.

Allen watched as Enelya went into the kitchen. He wasn't entirely too hungry, and since he hadn't said anything, she was probably making something for herself. It was tough work being a healer, after all. He stifled a yawn and stretched slightly, closing his eyes again.

"Yes, ponies are quite adorable! Especially with their cute little stubby legs. They are very thoughtful sweethearts too."

The immortal smiled when she laughed. He liked her laughter, and he was glad he had managed to her mind off of what had recently happened. To be honest, his own mind had forgotten the former subject for the moment. "I know! I've always loved ponies." He paused and gasped, as if just getting an idea. "We should go to the stable some time to see the ponies and the horsies!! It'll be fun!!" Allen grinned. He hadn't seen horses in a while, and it would be fun to go riding again, especially if Enelya went with him.

"We can have a race and go on a picnic, too!" He seemed rather happy about planning this all out. "If you want, I mean." He shifted uncomfortably for a moment before grinning again.

The lemony smell reached his nose and he smiled. She sure did seem like a good cook.

Enelya took the pot off of the burner, and held the handle out from her, stirring the thin liquid excitedly, meshing the flavors together. She went over to Allen's bedside, and nodded as he talked about his love for... What was that? Horsies? Enelya couldn't help but grin at his childish vocabulary. But hey, everyone got excited about something, right? Horses and guitars. She'd have to remember that.

Enelya took out her spoon, and blew on it slightly, and offered Allen a taste. "Lemongrass Mint Soup. It's good for your lungs, try it." She grinned, and once he tasted it, she returned to the kitchen, and threw in the chunks of lemon. She then went to the counter, and grew a tomato, slicing it, and throwing it in the pot as well. It was turning out to be a marvelous soup. She was excited. She loved cooking, and creating things.

"If you want, I mean."

A big smile spread across Enelya's face and she peered into the room Allen was in, and nodded excitedly. "I'd love to! I can't say I know how to ride a horse, but it sounds like fun!!" She quickly started to think about all the different foods they could take on their picnic experience and... wait... Oh nevermind.

"Lemongrass Mint Soup. It's good for your lungs, try it."

Allen blinked. Alright, so maybe the soup hadn't been for her. It didn't sound entirely delicious — mostly because of the grass part. He opened his mouth and tasted it though, just because she wanted him too. He scrunched up his nose, preparing to be disgusted. However, he was shocked when he actually tasted it.

"That's not bad," the immortal told her. "I thought it was going to taste like grass, but it didn't!" It was a compliment, it his own Tin Man way. Hopefully she wouldn't think the grass thing was an insult.

"I'd love to! I can't say I know how to ride a horse, but it sounds like fun!!"

The second he heard that she didn't know how to ride a horse, he sat up in bed and stared at her, eyes wide and jaw dropped. "Oh," he paused for emphasis, "my," another pause of suspense, "GOSH!" He put his hand to his heart and fell back almost as if he had been stabbed. He jerked his head to the side, allowing his tongue to flop out the side of his mouth. How could she not know how to ride a horse? It was so much fun!

Shaking his head and sitting up again, finished with the silliness, Allen looked at Enelya. "I'm going to teach you how to ride a horse," he said. "You'll have so much fun! I'm sure you'll love the noble steeds!! Your legs will probably hurt, but you get used to it after a while."

As Allen made a face, preparing to be disgusted, Enelya pursed her lips to the side, and knocked Allen lightly on the head playfully. She laughed at his response though. Grass was a tasteless, and horrible plants. Enelya thought grass was only good for padding, and laying down in, not eating. Unless you were a pasture animal. "Glad you think so."

Enelya stirred the soup a bit more, before she turned and watched Allen preform his theatrical display of disbelief. Enelya put her hands on her hips and laughed quietly, watching him. For a Tin Man, he sure did know how to lay on the dramatics. Enelya threw a rag at him, and bursted into laughter.

She went back to the soup, and watched the little dots of red and yellow float in the soup as she stirred it softly.

"I'm going to teach you how to ride a horse," he said. "You'll have so much fun! I'm sure you'll love the noble steeds!! Your legs will probably hurt, but you get used to it after a while."

Enelya looked over to him from the kitchen, and a big smile creased her face, and she nodded. "I can't wait, Allen!" She stirred the soup a bit more, and smelled it, taking in the lemony sweetness. She smiled, and took a sip herself. She tasted wonderful! The misty coolness refreshed her, while she could feel the herbs cleansing her system. It was a lovely feeling indeed.

She cut off the fire, and poked around the kitchen for a bowl. She opened cupboards and cabinets all over the place without any luck. Enelya sighed, and looked in the pantry of all places. Which, for one odd reason or another, there were the bowls. She grinned, and pulled out two. She set them on the counter, and filled one first, letting the armoa fill her nose. She dug out a spoon from a drawer, and stuck it into the soup, and blew on it slightly before bringing it to Allen.

"One Lemongrass Mint soup." She grinned, and waved her arm, which a tree stump sprung from the ground, and set the bowl there, waiting for him to eat it.
