Sareth yawned to themself as their latest drama class finally ended. As much as they enjoyed theatrics and playing pretend, the classes covered a lot of theory that bored them quickly. They supposed it had value, but they only attended these classes to keep themself occupied, and the practical lessons were far more fun most of the time.

Still, they'd done their obligation to the Academy for the day, so Sareth considered the best way to spend the rest of their free time. They had so much to catch up on after 12 years on ice, so much had changed, both on the island and abroad. They were utterly behind on everything.

It was an inconvenience they were eager to rectify.

Sareth floated through the Arts Wing, largely ignoring their peers, passing by the music classrooms as they went.

Weirdly enough since Fe had hired Carmin on as her main songwriter she had been spending more and more time lately at school practicing her vocals, fine-tuning her music and practicing her singing skills.

In fact, that afternoon had been no exception, except that now Fe was relaxing by simply singing along to a few of her own songs, songs that Jericho had managed to get air time for on two of the local radio stations.

Sareth came to a stop as the singing flowed from the music room to their ears. The tune wasn't really familiar to them, most recent music wasn't of course. They had time to spare, they figured, so they lingered by the door to the room and listened in on the song.

They had only intended to stop for a moment, but the longer the song went on, the longer they found themself listening. Eventually, they realised they were humming along. They were impressed, clearly, this person was dedicated.

After a short moment longer, they silently entered the room, their feet not touching the ground as they floated in. They stayed near the entrance, however, not making a sound until the song came to end. Once it did, they slowly began to applaud.

When Fe finished singing, the last thing she expected was to hear applause. Startled, the sirin spun around on her piano stool thinking it was a teacher since most people, who might have been fans, had already approached her at some point or another and generally did not come to Fe's daily practice sessions anymore.

When Fe saw, to some relief, that it was only an attractive demon, probably around her age, she flashed them a grin. "I almost feel like I should somehow get up and bow," she remarked.

"Oh please, no need to stand up on my account." They returned the grin, flashing perhaps a few too many teeth as they glided forward into the room. "Don't mind my intrusion, I simply heard your voice and thought that I must find out who it belongs too."

With a small flourish of their hand, they leant forward in a theatrical bow, their dark eyes flicking up to her, almost like they were sizing her up.

"Sareth Oranahr, just another student for now." They said, maintaining their grin. "Who might you be?"

Fe was thoroughly delighted and amused by Sareth's antics and it definitely showed in both her tone and facial expression.

"Well, Sareth Oranahr, just another student for the moment," Fe started as she stood up from the piano. "I am Fe Glaux, resident sirin and songstress extraordinaire and, hopefully for more than just the moment, rapidly rising vocal artist," she remarked dramatically and with a flourish of her own.

They seemed equally amused as Fe introduced herself, giving a short tilt of their head as they stood back up straight, crossing their arms behind their back.

"Well, it's always a pleasure to meet a rising star so early in their career," They said, expression settling into a comfortable smirk as they spoke. "Did you write this piece? You'll have to forgive my unfamiliarity, I'm a little behind the times, one might say."

"I did actually," Fe answered proudly. "It's one of my earlier songs. Jericho, my manager, heard it, liked it, thought it had a great sound, and convinced a couple of local radio stations to give it some air time," she explained as she leaned back very casually against the piano.

"How about you?" Fe asked as she let her gaze fall on Sareth. She couldn't say she wasn't somewhat curious about them.

"I can't say I've really noticed you around the school before? You new to Starlight? The Island? Both?" Fe asked, thinking that she'd have noticed someone like Sareth. There was a certain presence to them that she couldn't quite put her finger on.

Sareth decided to file the names and tidbits away in the back of their head as she spoke. They had, truthfully told, mostly been buttering her up as they spoke. But if she actually was in the process of making it big that was certainly interesting to the demon. They gave an attentive tilt of their head as she explained, before speaking themself.

"Well, I suppose I am new to the academy, but not the island." They began to explain. "I'm sure you're aware of the Dark Crystal Academy? I'm one of those unfortunate souls who was frozen along with the rest of the school."

If they were at all bothered by their displacement in time, they gave no sign of it, simply shrugging.

"So I suppose I can't blame you for not having noticed me before." They continued, another playful grin stretching across their face. "But rest assured, I do plan to have the rest of the island know my name sooner rather than later."

Fe raised an eyebrow at that revelation. She had met quite a few from DCA, but for some reason, she didn't see Sareth as being one of them... and she was not sure why.

"The whole DCA thing was wild," she had to admit as she looked at Sareth with renewed curiosity. "It's so crazy that nobody seemed to recall it even existing." she stated.

Hearing then that Sareth intended to make a name for herself, Fe couldn't help but smile at that. She liked people with a drive similar to her own.

"Really? Do tell. I must admit I'm a curious bird, and besides, I believe chance and opportunity often come knocking together, and I get the odd feeling we are both very similar in our goals," Fe stated with a coy grin.
