"But... Maybe... I mean, I was... so zoned out. Why was I crying?" He asked. "I mumbled a name and started crying... That has to mean something, right?"
"Yeah, it all has to mean something, Kenta, but we're no closer to finding out what any of that something is." Shay's look softened. "I don't mean to sound frustrated..."
"But it..." He shook his head and sighed. "Its ok." He said smiling. "I wish I could have gotten some real information..." I guess... I was crying again... He thought, giving his cheek another wipe.
"Maybe I should try again?"
Shay shrugged, smiling best she could at him. "Sure." She didn't sound confident in their ability to gather any more information than they had already. "One more time."
Kenta nodded and returned to his position again. He took a deep breath, closed his eyes and tried to focus. His breathing became erratic after only a few minutes. She could see his eyes shifting quickly under his eyelids, similar to REM sleep, but far more rapid. His body would twitch as well, but like before, he never moved. His tails soon spread out as they had before, the fur puffing out sharply. Through all of this, his lips were moving, eventually going from silence to mumbles. "Kieuseru. Kieuseru. Kieuseru. Kieuseru. Kieuseru..."
Each time he said it, it would sync up with his arms twitching. Once again, tears fell, but this time it was from both eyes.
Shay watched, keeping herself from leaning forward in case he lashed out. She tried to understand what he was saying, but she just couldn't. Was that another name? What did it mean? Was it one of the people who had locked him away? She didn't dare wake him from this. Maybe it was the only shot they would have?
It all stopped for a moment. She could see his legs twitching, but nothing else. Then even that stopped. His body was still. He was saying something, but she couldn't understand. Then, suddenly, his right hand shot out ahead of him with his tanto in it. "KIEUSERU!"
His eyes shot open and his tanto burst into blue flame. If she was able to catch it, she would see his left eye was yellow, rather than its usual green. He clenched his teeth hard and his eyes were full of wrath.
He would stay like this for a moment, trembling, then the flame would flicker out, his eye would return to normal, and his blade would fall from his hand, impaling the ground. He would then collapse backward, unconscious.
Shay would fall away from him, eyes widening. When he was on the ground, unconscious, Shay crawled back over to him and shook him by the shoulders. "K-Kenta? Kenta!" How was she going to get him anywhere? How long would he be out?
He opened his eyes and blinked a few times in confusion. "O-oh... Hey... Shay-shay..." He mumbled weakly. "Did... Did something... Hit me?" He asked, looking around as much as he could. He seemed like he was drained.
"You said Kieuseru and...you eye was gold. You had out --" Shay looked over to the blade in the ground. "What happened Kenta? Do you remember? Are you okay?" Shay was still close to him, holding his shoudlers tightly.
