She was... quite prepared. No escape I guess... Still... He smiled and opened the box. His eyes shone for a moment before he closed them and clapped his hands together in almost a praying position. "Itadakimasu!" He called out loudly before happily starting to eat.

Shay didn't know what that meant, but she wasn't about to ask and further distract him. She laid on her back to let the sun warm her face and body. She was close enough to him that her side was pressed against his leg. She was breathing slowly and deeply, seemingly meditating.

Once he had finished, he let out a satisfied sigh. He put the empty box to his side and smiled at her. Realizing again he... wasn't in Japan anymore, he figured she had no idea what he was saying before.
"Thank you, Shay-shay." He said before returning to his position again. "It was really good." He closed his eyes again, but unlike before, he had a smile on his face. His breathing became slow and steady, and rather than becoming stiff, his tails calmly swayed. Maybe her being close by made him ease up. Maybe it was her advice. Maybe it was the food. Either way, something was different.

"No problem," Shay said just barely above a whisper as not to disturb his sudden concentration. She opened one eye to watch him, not moving a muscle. Was it going to work now? Would she even be able to tell? Would any of it make a difference? The only way to find out was through time, but Shay was feeling quite impatient.

It was almost another hour before anything happened. His breathing changed, getting shallow and quicker. He was mumbling something she couldn't understand for a while, paced almost like he was talking to someone. He may have been speaking Japanese. His smile had fallen and his body would twitch, though it wouldn't actually move. Soon, tears started flowing from his right eye, and only his right eye. His tails stopped swaying and fanned out behind him and the fur puffed out like needles, looking rather intimidating. His right arm twitched a lot more for a while, and then he eased up again. She would hear him mumble something that stuck out. "Mayumi...". What was it? A name perhaps?
Soon after this, his body would relax, his tails returning to normal. It would be a few minutes after this before his eyes slowly opened. He would look around confused until he saw her. He would then wipe his wet cheek, and become even more confused.

Shay had sat up as he had his conversation. She used her hands to keep herself up as she watched him, worry and curiosity battling it out inside her. When he came to and noticed her, Shay's expression was stoic.

"What happened?" It felt odd hearing her voice after such a long break of silence. It cut through the air like a knife or sword; it sounded wholly unnatural to her. "What does Mayumi mean? Did you get to talk to him?"

She had to stop herself from asking about a billion other questions. She had noticed one of his eyes had teared up. Was that to suggest Gin-Shi had controlled one-half of Kenta for the time? She didn't know.

He tilted his head. "M... Mayumi? It doesn't..." He leaned back, looking up. "Its... A name. It doesn't mean anything... And... I didn't talk to him. I just... sorta... zoned out. Next thing I knew, my cheek was wet.." He looked at her again, clearly lost. "Where... Mayumi... Did I say something?"

Eroshay couldn't hide her disappointment. She fell back again and away from him, staring up at the sky. "You said Mayumi. What did you see? Do you even remember?" Shay was trying desperately to keep the irritation from her voice, but she wasn't succeeding.

"I... just sorta blacked out... I don't..." He sat back up and tried to focus again. "Mayumi..." He mumbled to himself. "I didn't see anything but..." He touched his cheek again. It was still a bit cold from tears. " I was... crying. That's something at least..."

"That doesn't tell us anything," Shay said bitterly. Kenta had been crying, what else was new? She didn't want to point it out exactly like that, but they were still at square one, and she was getting more and more impatient.
