The situation wasn't really progressing, but Agnes could feel that something inside her had moved, and that was what she had tried to accomplish for months now. That was the small step she had tried to take. And though Agnes knew the indifference would settle in again after she stepped out of this room she also knew it was possible for her to feel things still.
Valli asked Agnes, if she had broken it all in a way that was impossible to fix, and the question confused her. She...
"I don't know. I'm pretty sure. I broke it...really badly..."
Pretty sure wasn't yes. Pretty sure was maybe, most likely.
"Broken doesn't mean irreparable. Broken means that it's in need of fixing. But you can still fix it."
There was a soft chime, and Valli turned his head slightly, registering the chime's intention before glancing back to Agnes.
"We're near the end of our session," Valli said, "but I think we've covered a lot of ground, and I hope I've given you some things to think on. I hope I'll be able to see you again soon."
Which was his way of indicating that she could absolutely book a followup session any time she pleased.
Valli had given Agnes something to think alright. She just hoped her indifference wouldn't yet again overpower her wish to actually feel something.
Agnes sighed a bit and rubbed her face with her hands. Were these sessions always gonna be this frustrating? For both her and Valli.
"Yeah, I'll...I gues I'll see you?"
Agnes said with uncertainty and stood up. She took a step towards the door but stopped, and looked over at Valli.
"Uh, thanks."
And with that Agnes headed out.
