"Yeah, It does seem more satisfying to beat an opponent on nothing but skill." He acknowledged, nodding his head in agreement.

He kept forgetting Jaxon was here. "I do enjoy Puzzle games," He looked towards Jaxon. "But Grinding is an important part of anything. It's done in maths, Martial Arts, and even Speech. After all, it's basically learning how to do something through practice."

Turning back to Rosetta, he started a new topic. "So, you talk like you had played a lot" She did have this confidence about her. "Are you any good?" He had seen her Account name earlier, so he typed it in and quickly sent her a friend request.

"Oh it will get boring, But even with friends, it can be difficult. Especially when planning a team and some classes level up faster." He didn't look away from the screen as he said this. "Then it creates a problem, as you are either too good, and get all the XP, or are too weak, and holds the team back."

((Damn, I never considered the issues of team play before this, I've never actually played in a party before. Sorry it took a while to respond, Had some personal issues to deal with, barely had the ability to do the event.))

Rosetta leaned back on the chair and turned, waiting for the game to load. She was on a queue, and she probably couldn't get in immediately, so might as well chat. While she couldn't be considered an expert in video games, she had a feeling Marcus was wrong on grinding being found in all the activities he's mentioned. Maths, martial arts, speech, those weren't comparable to repeatedly slaying enemies to get a digital counter to tick up to advance. The things mentioned developed organically through mind and body, rather than anything set to happen after a counter reaches a set value. She didn't say this however, she'd rather avoid any misunderstandings, but she did address his question. "I wouldn't say good. I just get lucky mostly," she'd say with a grin. "I've had a few friends say that I must have swallowed a rabbit's foot when I was a child," she'd laugh.

Lucky? Just how lucky could she be? "You must be underestimating yourself, I'm sure of it." He grinned back.

Having been queued for a game, he leaned back in his chair. "If that really happened, it must have been one hell of a story."

___

((Sorry, I'm finding it difficult to RP both characters. It's killing my motivation.))

Nah, it couldn't be luck. Just that one simple idea ruins the idea of fair gameplay. "That doesn't-" He was cut off as his phone went off, notifying him of a text.

Opening the screen, he frowned. Jaxon was trying to become a vigilante, but crime appeared at the worst times. "I'm sorry, I have to go."

Grabbing his bag, he speed-walked out the door, then zipped through the nearby outlet, unnoticed unless the two happened to look out the door.

"Well, maybe," she'd scratch her head. "Didn't really play with enough people to tell." Jaxon suddenly left after reading a message. It must have been important, but before she could say anything, he was already out. Oh well. Turning to Marcus, she asked, "How long have you been playing this game?"

"Ohh, alright." Playing against the computer was easier than against people.

Damn, Jaxon had to leave, that means the club had bombed, Marcus realized. Only one person remained, excluding himself of course.

Despite his shock and disappointment, he still tried to keep a bright face. "Well, not really long. Maybe about five or so hours. What about you? how long have you been playing?"

"Well, on this game, I'm still waiting to log in for the first time," she'd say with a chuckle. Maybe he didn't catch that she had just signed up for the game. It wasn't something jarring. "Since you have the most experience with this between the two of us, maybe you could show me the ropes?" she'd ask. And just then, she was greeted with the screen that asked her what her summoner name was, which she'd name herself as Rabbit's Foot. "Alright, so how do we start?"

Mentally, he screamed. Marcus saw that she had just signed up, why did he have to ask how long she was playing? "Hehe, yeah, I guess you are." He laughed awkwardly.

"Uh, sure. I can do that." He could do that without making a fool of himself, couldn't he? "Well, there's not much really to explain. Overall, the main menu itself is pretty basic."

He glanced at her screen. Rabbit's Foot? seems appropriate. Marcus chose the name Arcott as his summoner name, so it wasn't as relatable. "Well, Up there is the play button. That should lead to a few game types. I think you should try the tutorial first, so go to tutorial, then basic tutorial, okay?"

((OOC: Haven't played in ages. Had to look up a wiki to make sure they hadn't changed the interface, still not sure))

Rosetta nodded and took to heart what he was telling her. Can't get through a game if you can't navigate the menus. "Alright, okay!" She got her way towards the tutorial and started off. "The art of the characters looks great here" she'd say, admiring the splash art of her character. Things loaded quickly and the game gave her the needed exposition on what she was supposed to be doing. She was a quick reader, in the way that she simply skimmed through all the popups. She was quiet as she focused on the game, until she finished. "This definitely looks fun!"

Jii was, for lack of a better explanation, insanely nervous. Though she had absolutely zero experience in playing video games of any kind, she had been told that they were a great test of reflexes and coordination, areas which she excelled greatly in. The tiny Pixan girl poked her head around the doorway, and to hear great relief the room was hardly full at all. A familiar face popped out at her, and she gave a big wave to Marcus. "Hey! Sorry I'm late, I had to stay after class for a little bit. What are you guys playing?"

Marcus Warke
She quickly passed all the popup windows. Was she actually reading them, or just skipping? Regardless, she seemed to be doing well in the tutorial. Marcus turned back to his computer, nodding. Alright, time to see what's new.

A few minutes later, Eli heard Rosetta call out, and Jii walk in. "Yeah, it can be fun. Any character you particularly want to play with?"

Waving back at Jii, He answered. "League of legends, you're welcome to watch if you want, as i only really downloaded it onto two computers." More people!
