It had only been one day since Cirro had arrived at the island. So far, things had been a little much for him to take in. He knew he was going to see some form of magic before he got there, but he never could've imagined the things and people he'd see. He knew that today was probably going to be the same, so he headed out to mentally calm himself down first. Before long, he'd found a big lake, just far enough from the school that he'd still be able to find his way back. There was something calming about lakes, and it was early enough that nobody was around, the perfect spot to relax. He dropped his backpack down beside a flat rock, and pulled out a sheet of paper and a few pencils. This place was going to be his home, so he planned on mapping it to get a better idea of where everything was; and also to prevent himself from getting lost. Cirro took his time, drawing the lake and anything he thought was a notable landmark on to the paper, before eventually looking over at the forest next to him. There was something odd about the woods that he couldn't put his finger on, he stared at them for over a minute before it started to rain and he was broken from his train of thought.
Cirro looked up at the sky with concern as his hair turned from brown to blue, and his paper started getting wet. "No, no, no!" He shoved everything into his backpack to keep it dry, then took a better look around the lake. It didn't seem like there was anyone around, which meant he could just dance for a few minutes and make it sunny out. Although there was something about being out in the open that made him feel watched, so it took him a few minutes before he decided to do it. He went behind a tree right beside the water and relunctantly started dancing. His body always looked enthusiastic when he did this, but his face was just beat red and his eyes were closed. Even with no one around, dancing outside was just plain embarrassing.
About one minute in, he performed a jump to the side, and right into the lake. The spot he fell wasn't as shallow as he thought it would be, but it wasn't until he put his foot down to touch the bottom that he really started to panic. It didn't reach. To most people, this wouldn't be a problem, but Cirro never actually learned to swim. He started kicking and flailing to stay up, but all it did was push him further from the edge. He was almost positive that there was nobody around, but he screamed anyway, hoping someone would hear him. "Help! I can't-" He bobbed below the water while he was yelling, swallowing water and coughing in the process. He was managing to stay afloat for the time being, but he knew it wouldn't last much longer.
