After a long morning and part of the afternoon unpacking, Lyra decided to relax in one of the only places she felt peace--the forest. Shaded by the trees, she sprawled out on a rock and stretched. She had her bow and arrow on her back, in case she decided to practice for fun on some of the trees. She wondered about how college life would be here. She hoped it would be different then her former schooling--maybe she would actually find people to interact well with for once. At least no one had made fun of her ears yet.
Her long dark hair swayed in front of her face as a breeze softly rolled through the leaves, while she remained in thought. Closing her eyes, she tried to relax but there was so much to think about. She was unsure of what to do next. She hadn't really met anyone still, and she knew deep down she should probably be trying to--but the place for that would be closer to the grounds, not in the woods. She tried to take a breath and listen to the sounds of the woods, but her mindless worrying kept her uneasy. She let out a soft sigh, opening her eyes again.
Regardless, she stood up slowly, and readied her bow and arrow. She took aim at a decently distanced tree, then waited for the breeze to die down. Her teal and brown dress faintly fluttered and once it completely stopped, she fired her first shot. It bounced off at a weird angle, and so she took another arrow and shot again.
This was Lyra's way of killing time, and taking worries off her mind. She didn't want to think about her new classes, and new classmates yet. It was all unavoidable but she wanted to avoid it as long as she possibly could.
