She honestly thought she would never get to the island. The traveling was endless which was exciting, but terrifying at the same time. She had never been outside of her village before and now here she was at the Academy; the start of her own little adventure. The people seemed really nice, especially the administrator and the staff. Some of them of course felt the need to cater to her a little more because of her lack of sight so she allowed them to guide her to the dorms. Classes started in the morning and she was to be given special books to keep up with everyone else. Braille...well, it was a good thing that was forced upon her.

Going through the school was overwhelming. She could tell that there were so much people! It was more than what she usually dealt with, but she sucked it up and continued with her guide. The tour felt like it went on for ages and going from her flight directly into admission, it was a little difficult to stay focused. When it came to finally being escorted to her dorm room, it was the end of the tour.

Oh, and she was to have a roommate.

It was difficult to stifle her shock. G-Great, she never roomed with anyone before! What was this?! She was promised she was going to have her own room...Sigh, maybe they changed their minds or dorms got too full. Then the guide reassured her that it was only temporary until one of the rooms open up. Well, that was good, but still...What if the guy was a jerk? What if they were going to make fun of her or steal her stuff because they assumed she was blind and stupid? There was uncertainty there...But oh well. What could she do? Nothing right now, so there was no sense trying to complain about it. If they stole, then they stole. She didn't have much on her person anyway other than the clothes she came with.

Like always, Nao surveyed the room, taking note where everything was when it came to furniture was placed. Closet? Check. Bathroom? Check. Apparently the room even sported two separate beds and desks. She claimed the bed against the wall and settled her bag down. Clothes were being laid out on the bed and...Oh, the door clicked. Someone was coming in! This ...felt different. She stopped and faced the door in the spacey dorm. "Hi there! You must be my new roommate!"

Let's see.... First math, then English.... The mental schedule of homework started running through Nayeli's mind as she approached her dorm. The school day had left her with a fair amount of homework, so she had barely any thought of the notice she'd received that morning of her new roommate.

The first thing she noticed at the door was that it was unlocked, which was odd... She almost never left the door unlocked... Then the doe's mind got a wake-up slap as she walked in, greeted by a girl wearing the typical schoolgirl attire. New roommate? When.. did.... Her face, however confused her mind was, showed only a polite smile.

"Hello there. I'm Nayeli... You are....?"

((I apologize if my response seems a bit short. I wasn't quite in a writing mood, but I figured it'd be better to post something to get the story rolling :) ))

This aura felt different because it wasn’t…human exactly. It spoke like a human but…She just couldn’t put her finger on it. Ah well, it didn’t matter. Not like she could sit there and gawk and it didn’t really matter what her roommate was. All she sensed was a friendly, and a bit of a startled vibe. Probably didn’t see her coming or didn’t get any kind of notice. Not a big deal! Nayeli…That was a nice name. The greeting made Nao smile, feeling somewhat at ease with this whole new environment thing.

”I’m Nao,” She happily said. Too bad she couldn’t catch the smile. That was fine, she heard it in Nayeli’s voice…if that made any sense. It was way better than feeling not wanted or worse; lonely. ”Nice to meet you! I hope we become good friends,” She turned away, carefully making her way to her bed and had a seat. ”I just got here. It was one hell of a flight though…I’m exhausted. What about you? Are you new here?” She faced straight ahead. No need to really turn considering she couldn’t necessarily make eye contact.
