Jett was quiet so long it seemed he might have been ignoring Jeong. In reality, he was again far too distracted by his boyfriend (and best friend, which could have been taken more importantly at times). "Well, get over here and read the charts with me, then. I'll teach you how it's done. It would be nice to have a lab assistant."
The idea even managed to brighten Jett's mood. He didn't smile, too honed in on his research. In the darkest corner of the basement, on a makeshift table of boxes and crates were a pile of books on diseases and biology. Coming closer, Jeong would notice a series of track marks on Jett's arms and several vials of blood, presumably his, in a stand.

"Alright." His voice cracked once again after the long silence was over. Jeong despised having in the echoes that the basement offered him. It was creepy and unnatural for sure. With baby steps, he moved closer to Jett, but only gasped as his eyes went directly to his arm. It was nothing gross, but alarming to the tiger. "Babe..." He made out lowly before placing a gentle hand on Jett's wrist. "I... I should have came down and stayed sooner." Oh how badly he wanted to nuzzle up to him and hold him.
Jeong needed to focus. He took his hand off and huffed around his general area. "But before I tackle you, what did you want me to do?" The star traced his fingers over the books before giving Jett a clueless look.

Jett leveled an annoyed stare on Jeong. "Relax, with or without you here I was going to be drawing blood and plenty of it. I got enough food; it's fine."
When Jeje went to the books, Jett whistled to beckon him over again. A few of the rodents squeaked nervously, and a handful of them rammed against their cages. One of the people strapped to the tables groaned, still not quite awake.
"Come here."
When Jeje came over, Jett motioned to the charts, which held a serious of shorthand information to indicate which diseases he was testing out and how quickly he was attempting to induce them.
"These are variations of the flu." He pointed to a few color coated panels and the time stamps beside them. "BF1 is a strand of bird flu." He gave an annoyed glance to the rats. "It's not the same as people. I'm moving on from testing on rodents to them." He inclined his head to individual strapped to the table.

"Okay..." How could he not worry? Seeing vials of blood and obvious strain on his best friend wasn't something that you could just ignore. At the same time, Jeong was a worrier. Though when he was beckoned over to the charts, his eyes darted from color to disease to font, trying to understand as much as he could in the amount of time that he had. He took a step back as the rats got a bit too rowdy. "Understood. Different diseases. I assume that they worked on the rats? But you want more... Realistic results?" His gaze went to the tied up person; Jeong had almost gotten used to that. "Do you want me to help with that too?" He gave a lazy motion of his arm to indicate that he was referring to the man.
"Mm, no. I couldn't test all the diseases on the rats. Some they can't naturally get. Seems that's a limitation for me." Jett looked at his hand quizzically. God, he was so tired shit wasn't even making sense anymore. "Anyway, I managed to get rabies to set in quicker than normal."
Jett motioned to a dead rat, frothing at the mouth and twitching. Maybe it wasn't completely dead? "My mind is a little... gooey, though, so I'm not sure I have it in me to force another."

He nodded the best he could. It all made partial sense to him, as Jett had explained a few times on the properties of his powers. Even then, when it wasn't your own body it was hard to fully understand. "That's good then." He took a look at the remaining rats, shying away from the ones that weren't moving. "An improvement on your side indeed honey." His grin was shy. It wasn't the best topic to congradulate someone on. "Don't then, the last thing I want is to come down here and see you frothing on the floor like that rat." Jeong was sure that it wouldn't go down that way, but even the thought of it made him shiver with bad feelings.
Jett gave a hard bark of laughter. The cruelty in it wasn't directed at Jeong, at least. "That wouldn't happen. I can't get rabies, a few of them bit me a few days ago and nothing."
Jett slumped a little and went to sit in one corner of the room, propping open a book and reading as he waited for his body to gain more strength. It may have been odd to see, but he looked near ready to cry. It was well enough hidden, but there was a brief moment when he wasn't all there in the eyes.
Jett was reading the same sentence over and over again, trying to understand when his mind just didn't want to work for him.
