If something was confusing to Jeong, Jett would much rather his boyfriend just tell him than try to figure it out on his own and panic. "If you have any questions, please ask. I'd rather you not try to figure something out by yourself and get stressed, okay?" He hadn't meant to sound so condescending when he said it, but there it was

"Right." He was just a big burden, that was all he was good for. It hurt, but Jeong just took a breath before he slapped something. "Really, I.... Thank you." He shut himself up before another word could come out. This didn't need to be him, he didn't need to be the weak one in this relationship. Jeong was a strong man. Stubborn, really. "I need to be able to handle a fucking book on my own! I went to school to do such things!" Jeje pretty much dived his nose into the book, before he read a few words and didn't understand any of it. Not to break his own confidence, his head only slowly turned towards Jett in disappointment. "I can't really help you, can I?"
Jett thought about that question. He huffed, knowing, in some human way, that Jeong needed this. Christ. He leaned over to look at the book Jeong had picked. Something on bloodborne diseases.
"You don't need to understand all of this," he explained, grabbing a notebook and a pencil to hand to Jeong. "Just take these, and scan the book for estimates on the duration of the diseases, their names, their infectivity, and their severity. See what creatures can be carriers and which the disease will effect. Make sense?"

Good, he wasn't being left behind like the garbage that he was. That was the last thing that he wanted to think about. Jeong huffed in excitement and took both the pencil and the notebook in stride. This was his, this was all him. "Takin notes sounds way easier." The tiger boy smiled at his lover, flipping to the first page with real info. He wrote a few numbers and long ass disease names before leaning over and planting a kiss on his shoulder. What a sweet name. "Thank you. I don't think I said that."
Jett was jolted from his studying when Jeong kissed his shoulder. He was so focused on this work; he hadn't been paying attention once he gave his boyfriend directions to follow. "Oh, no problem." He rubbed at the dark circles under his eyes.
Jett studied for hours, writing things down and only taking short ten-minute intervals to think about all he was learning and how he might utilize it in his day to day life. At one point in their little study session, the man strapped to the table awoke and began to scream. Jett had scrambled up then, but this time, he didn't bother knocking him out.
Jett didn't care that the man saw his face because he wasn't leaving this place alive, anyway. Jett should have been doing all of this somewhere else, but he just couldn't give a single fuck.
Instead, he set his hand on the man's forehead and focused on his magic. Jett glanced back at Jeong. "Give me a disease, tell me the details about it. We're going to practice for realsies." He smiled drowsily at Jeong.

The shock that he gave his boyfriend excited him to no end. How cute the killer was in his eyes. For most, it would be seen as insane to fall in love with someone like him, but Jeong didn't give a single fuck. It seemed then, that neither did Jett. Jeje flinched at the screaming, forgetting for a second that they weren't alone. He only watched for a long amount of seconds before his mind connected what Jett had asked of him. "I-Oh!" With haste, he called out the first thing that his eyes caught. Bloodborne diseases were nasty. "Hepatitis B!"
"Yeah! Hep-- Wait, Hepatitis B?" Jett's enthusiasm died a little, but he was quick to return to tiredly grinning as his magic flowed through him and coursing into the man. Jett imagined the sickness in vibrant colors, saw the details of it in his mind's eye and tried to speed up the process in his mind. It was going to take at least a few hours from now.
Until then, Jett sat down and pulled Jeong into his lap, read over his shoulder about the diseases' symptoms and gave Jeong the job of tracking down any symptoms that may have shown up, along with the time they did. He did this so he could also promise Jeje he would get some rest.
Jeje was right. Jett couldn't keep doing this and expect to live long enough to see any progress. He needed to take care of himself, too, although that was so hard to remember when he was wrapped up in work related things.
He kissed his boyfriend on the nose and ascended the stairs to flop on the couch and get some shut up. He dreamt pleasantly enough of sickness and death.
