"Solo is my home. It is a planet in the galaxy of Laemon. I do not expect you have heard of it though. And if you had you would not call it Solo. But it is a nice planet. The sky is what you call yellow." Iain shut down his translator. He would try to talk without it for a while.

Elinor shook her head. "No, I haven't heard of it... " She tried to imagine having a yellow sky. She had grown up for most of her life with a blue sky; she didn't remember the color of the sky at her old home.

"It's nice to know I'm not the only kid here from another planet," she said with a slight smile. "But you're lucky; I found myself here on Earth at an early age, so I don't remember most of the things on my old planet... I don't even remember what it was called!" She gave a slight laugh, and looked at the ground, still smiling.

"Really?" Asked Iain. He was speaking slower now, as he had to say each word individually. "I didn't think I would meet another...what's the word?...ah yes...alien." Iain was becoming frustrated. He decided to stuff it and reactivate his translator. Emitting the same strange rumbling sound as his computer, the mike slid down next to his face once more.

"I don't think of myself as an 'alien'... more like a person who was from another planet but is now on Earth... which is the definition of alien... wait, I gotta rethink this." Elinor rolled her eyes at herself, and tried to think of a better word.

After a few minutes, she spoke again. "Nope, can't think of a better phrase... Well, we're not those little green guys as everyone pictures us.... which works for me, I guess." She smiled and laughed a little again, and looked at the microphone.

"Don't get frustrated so easily... English is easy after a while, so don't give up just yet."

"It is very difficult. It is much different from Solon. That is one of the twenty-seven official and ninety-four unofficial languages of Solo. I speak twelve of the official languages, and seven of the unofficial ones. But English is not like any of them. Oh well. I am trying." Iain shrugged. Tapping the translator, he said. "This translates English to Solon when you speak and Solon to English when I speak. Solon does not have words which need to move your mouth. It is rumblings deep in your throat."

Elinor nodded slightly. "Sound interesting..." She did, honestly think it was interesting. She smiled slightly, and stood from the rock.

"Perhaps we should head back to the school... it's getting late, and I don't want either of us to get in trouble with the Headmistress."

"Why would we get in trouble?" asked Iain suprisedly. On Solo you could be out as late as you liked. He looked up at the sky. It wasn't even green yet, how could it be getting late?

"There's a curfew.... if we don't get back to the school by then, we'll probably get in trouble," Elinor said quietly. "But of course, we only get in trouble if we get caught, so I suppose it couldn't hurt to stay out a little longer." She smiled slightly, and sat on the rock once again.

"So what do you want to talk about now?"
