It was in the evening, and the Easter Event was mostly over for today, at least for those that had their fill of scouring the school for hidden eggs. Instead of collapsing on a couch and stuffing her face with chocolate, Konishi had grander ideas. What better why to end and celebrate the hunt with a feast? An Easter tea party.
Well, that wasn't too much effort to set up. When you had Félix and his big strong tendrils, they put together the length of three rectangular tables, and Konishi helped to gather the chairs around them. She rented out some tablecloth and went to the bakery to buy some pastries and hot cross buns. They couldn't just eat chocolate... Well, they could. But this was much nicer.
"I'll set up the rest and make you some tea. I've also got something for you. Here, put this on. I'll make sure nobody will come in." When Konishi said that, Félix would at least have comfort in knowing she was serious about making sure nobody would walk in on him changing.
She handed Félix a baby pink shopping bag with black ribbons. There was gold cursive writing and a motif of a girl and a carousel. In it was what looked like very fancy, Edwardian or Victorian style clothing. It was not monochrome, but she got him a rich red velvet waistcoast and pants to match with the red of his eyes, and a crisp white shirt.
Once he emerged from whatever corner or curtain he hid behind to get dressed, Konishi already set up the pastries. The hot cross buns were in the middle of the table, and there were scones with cream and jam for those that were not a fan of the festive bun. There were apple and pear pastries, pain au chocolat and croissants, both plain and decorated with almonds. Milk and sugar sat neatly on the tray, and there were three pots of tea. There was the sweet smell of bittersweet cacao in the air, and Easter eggs were arranged all over the table for the taking.
"Have the tea. It's nice." She poured him a cup. It was black assam tea with cacao nibs and dwarf everlast blossoms, that gave the room a gently sweet aroma.
